Unblieveable! I saw Sammy Davis back in '80 in Vegas. He was amazing. Never be another Dr. Davis...ever. Love my TJ. I remember watching his TV shows back then. Saw him many times in Vegas too. Two great talents.

to Croonerbart, if Sammy was British he would have been a Sir as would FRank Sinatra Dean Martin etc... but you have to be british to be given a Knighthood, maybe something for the USA to think about but i'm sure they honoured him with other titles as he deserved

Sorry... but there where at least two with extra ordinary vocal ability and Mr. Davis should have had the same title "Sir" more than Tom Jones because he could also dance and do imitations, he was more showman that Tom, only he wasn't born under a Queen who gives away titles like cookies and he hadn't the good looks:-(

But for me it is Sir Sammy Davis Jr. with the same great voice, volume and fraising as Mr. Jones, "yn anffodus" Mr. Davis hadn't the good looks

When I was a young and angst ridden teenager, I would listen to these musicians and see them as corny crooners. I listen today and think, "My God, these performers were true MASTERS at the top of their game. I guess it just took a while before I could fully appreciate them. lol I just wish there were more artists of this calibre today.
