  • What the hell is that?which idiots press the disklike button??shame on u

  • pretty sure you can make exact replicas of them on rockband. at least you could back when I played the first rockband back in the day.

  • @thatdudeud0ntknow no jesus is on the guitar

  • he looks with the beard and moustache

  • @benopiu Jasin Todd - Jesus Todd.

  • great performance, wish they didn't cut out "a willing sacrifice" line and replace it with pyro or silence.

  • brent always sounds his best!!!!

  • And there are people out there who think Brent lipsync, pure fuckwits, some people in music actually have talent i guess some cant get their head around that.

  • @KracBlayn he does at times, especially in the new live album I just bought. He does it mainly just in the chorus parts. He's not doing it here though. I don't blame the guy, its impossible to hit those notes if you're doing song after song, night after night. I respect the guy, as well as the whole band. They make great music.

  • @SpeedDrummer88 and im sure he's singing it for real at the actual show, they probly just added the album vocals in during post-production :P

  • i love all songs of shinedown but i miss jasin , he was the best ..

  • BRENT IS ALWAYS ON HIS GAME!

  • @CasiMirLtd Jasin Todd was the sole guitarist for the band before the third album, where due to issues with drugs he was ejected from the band. Any backing guitar will have been tracked as Zack was not a part of the band until Jasin left.

Backing vocals were also tracked, it's very common for bands of that size who want a certain sound to have backing tracks, where the drummer uses a click track to keep everything in time in accordance to the song. Hope that helps any confusion.

  • @chikaofg

Zach started touring with Shinedown in 2005 on the Us And Them tour as a backup guitarist, then Brad left so Zach replaced him by playing bass. After a while, Jasin left then Zach replaced him as the lead guitarist. I'm not sure who came into the band first after that; Eric or Nick.

  • back when shinedown was still good haha

  • @GordoDustin they still are son

  • love this man's voice and talent

  • where are the backing vocals coming from?

  • @VandelayIndustries25 Other members of the band.

  • @ParasectFTW I didn't see anyone singing, let alone any other mics set up..

  • @VandelayIndustries25 xD idk, that's what they usually do.

  • @VandelayIndustries25 Zack Myers, the now lead guitarist, was backing guitarist back then. I don't see him here though, but he could have been out of frame to backup the vocals and guitars as you hear when Jasin plays his solo. But i'm just speculating, it could have been playback-backing vocals(just the backing vocals that is, not cheating, just spices)

  • @CasiMirLtd That makes sense...

  • Haha... he looks better without his beard. X) I love Shinedown!

  • Hey my vid is the lyrics one. the one with red lyrics. 170k views and counting. Love the band but mine is better quality music =) love ya shinedown!

  • I miss the original members

  • @picklevai16

When you sing & scream that strong your vocals will start to degrade. You will see his music start to get softer as he gets older in order to adjust to his abilities. I hate to see that happen, but that is life.

  • this is when and brent smith used to be good. shame they kinda suck now.

  • @picklevai16 I see no difference in their epicness lol.

  • @Rkomegakillz

well, I've seen them live back then and now, and it just doesn't feel the same as it did back then. I feel like his voice has gotten less good. Thats just me.

  • @picklevai16 Guess it's just the wear and tear of age.

  • @picklevai16 come on, you can't say brent sucks, his voice is still amazing, and that's a good think they've changed, I dont like bands that always do the same thing

  • @tzbling

Okay, I wouldn't say he sucks. I like his voice but it just doesn't seem to have good endurance so he can't do the songs like on the albums. Plus I don't understand why the Carnival of Madness tour, he was lip syncing for most of the tour

  • Brent rocks that beard.

  • THEY HAVE NOT LOST WHAT THEY HAD,IF ANYTHING THEY'VE GOTTEN BETTER!

  • Aaaahh the good old Shinedown. They've lost what they had.

  • @thisIStheARTofRUIN THEY HAVE NOT LOST WHAT THEY HAD,IF ANYTHING THEY HAVE GOTTEN BETTTER!!

  • Brent is just too good

  • God, look at his beard.

  • @BrickChickens oh i know that blew me away. i was like WTF...?

  • brent is fucking great

  • Friggin amazing voice, i love this band. Brent is great :)

  • you can really hear the soundgarden influence in this

  • This song is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better live..on album this song is amazing but live it is mindblowing....

  • @SixxPM100 All music is sooo much better live lol :D

  • @Dragonslyrs their hair aint awfull but yea i thinkn that hed look better with still a long hair style but shorter

  • Damn...these guys Fucking ROCK...if i was at this show, i would have been starting the apocalype to this music...favorite song of their Ever....so far at least

  • All the live vids are awesome, but this one stand out for me. Sounds perfect, the beard doesnt hurt either haha

  • Brent, grow another beard. Go.

  • they fucking rock LIVE!!! there are bands that sucks ass live...but this one is probably one of the most accurate...

  • this band is so amazing live, i dont think even this video does them justice. Saw them live...one of the best shows ive ever been to!

  • y didnt their other albums hit like this one this album was just amazing

  • I love me some Jasin

  • this song so rips!!

  • @DarthRidiculous1 what i dont get it what do you mean "this song so rips!!"

  • Comment removed

  • @Ojthemighty it means its good....it rocks....O_o why do i keep getting messages from you asking me to explain what i mean, is this some youtube error?

  • @DarthRidiculous1 i do belive this is the first time i have asked you what you mean, but thatnks for replying as i had never herd that term before, and i totaly agree with you this song so RIPS. =D

  • @Ojthemighty cool! glad to turn you onto a little slang term!!

  • @Ojthemighty means it's good i think lol not 100% shure though

  • I ♥ Shinedown.. They are the best live band out there. They are the most appreciative band, and their music speaks when you can't.

  • I want his jacket ;_; where I can get it? xD

  • i love shinedown when they are playing live they are even better

  • They are just awesome live!!

  • God this is amazing this band is amazing I personally like their new lineup better but IMO the best version of this band is the one with....Brent Smith & Barry Kerch = )

  • Brent looks like Aragorn from lotr at this clip :D

  • This song sounds a little like some soundgarden, but still the best rock out right now by far.

  • the singer sounds kinda like chris cornell.

  • Chris cornell was the lead singer for Soundgarden. but this song sounds a little like some harder soundgarden. you know. shinedown is much better.

  • @gdog00187 ya soundgarden and audioslave are amazing. im not sure who i like the best though.

  • @gdog00187 chris cornell also went solo and in audioslave but i agree it sounds a lot like him if chris sang a little more hardcore

  • i do agree that Myles can go a little higher. Brent seems to me to be a little more versatile from song to song. Just personal opinion

  • he has a mustach

  • Brent Smith > Myles Kenneday and Chris Cornell

  • No way. Brent Smith...2 octaves maybe. lol Myles Kennedy has 3.

  • David Draiman has about 3 octaves; but isn't a great singer... Doesn't matter how high or low you can go it is how well you can control your voice and brent is a 'God' at that.

  • Maybe in your opinion. But Myles can do all of that... Some of the acoustic fly from the inside performances are awful when it comes to control and range.

  • Man have you seen some of Myles live performances a lot of them suck even when he isn't stoned or half drunk..

Yes i am a fan of Alter bridge and even Myles. (I have even uploaded a couple of alter bridge videos.)

  • saw them live last weekend. they are amazing!!!!!! great show.

  • Going to see them in two weeks. I can't wait!

  • there fucking amazing( found out that he was addicted to cocaine and oxycotten at this point he has been drug free for 1 ear and gained 50-100 pounds) no matter how skinny or fat he is he is still the a beast.

  • @drewperry1993 brent was the one addicted??

  • thank you "mother kuen" and shinedown!

  • my fav. song great band !! shinedown keep on shineing!!!!!!!!!

  • No wonder Zach Meyers moved from Bass over the guitar for the next record.

  • LOL it's not as hard as it looks. i've learned it, and i've only played bass for two months

  • plus that's not zach, he played backup in this and isn't shown much... i play this song as well, though my singers are afraid to ruin it because they can't sing it that well....

  • amazng perfomance, by an amazing band. I hope they come to Norway..

  • Just seen them this past Sunday with Papa Roach, kcik ass show!

  • @Armysniper360

who did you like more? I am driving 300 miles one way to Poplar Bluff Mo. Have'nt seen Shinedown have seen Papa Roach 5 times. Did they both play long sets? Add Halestorm should be a Rockin show.

  • Honeslty, both bands rocked but Papa Roach stole the show. Seeing both bands was a first for me, but wow, Papa Roach will get you involved. Shinedown gave out allot speaches, but Brent sounded alittle tired. But you will have a good time. If you have floor tickets, your going to be standing for a very long time :)

  • pisses me off that the label fired Brad Stewart. that's not to diss Eric Bass, but Brad was awesome. they all are

  • Great comment!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what a boring crowd! haah if i saw shinedown i'd be going mental! :D

  • hah I DID

  • bad ass

  • ya know every time i get on here i see ppl cracking on brent cuz he does not sound exactly the same as the cd's..........no one does!!!!!!....its studio magic!....very few singers cant sing like that night after night after night!......if they did....theyd have about 2 weeks of touring and stuff....then theyd have to find a new job that doesnt require speaking.....so to all those that constantly crack on brent i say.......lets see you do it....obviously he's doin something right....he's rich!

  • look up old soundgarden videos..cornell sounds better then the records

  • oh, and don't forget that even though it's not like the album, it still shows real talent.

  • wow the lead singers on his game!!!!!!!!

  • @foxofthechidori his name is brent... BRENT RULES!

  • Shinedown is kinda cute.

  • i love this band, but i just don't like it when the lead singer keep pulling away from the mike, his voice keep draining out...

  • he pulls the mic away when he his louder notes....its a very important vocal technique...if u don't do that it will distort when u raise the volume of ur voice......ur supposed to adjust the mic positioning based on the volume of ur voice... and ur watching a video....if u were there live it would have been different. oh and the word mic is short for microphone, not "mike" thats someones name......sry im venting a little..roommates make me mad

  • @facenayl AKA mic courtesy

  • @facenayl We all vent in our own way.

  • they rock

  • sounds pretty good live again.

  • yeah they kick ass i saw them a few weeks ago with staind chevelle and hale storm bad ass show

  • saw that show too bro it was amazing!

  • I like needcee's comment!!! hahahahahahahaahaha!!! who fuckin said that about leather jackets!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahahahahaha

  • i noticed that shinedown just dosent sound the same anymore. im not saying they suck or anything. its just that they used to be so much better when they atleast still had jasin todd. now, they dont sound as pure. i noticed that the whole band has gone down hill since he left. i certainly hope that their next cd is better. :(

  • well that's the great thing about shinedown. they change with each album., rather than sticking with the same sound on everything they do.

  • its cool when bands do that but i think if they have a really good and successful sound on an album they should stick with it

  • what year was this

  • this is 1 of there best songs eva \m/

  • i seen them live like a month ago it waz fuckking awsome

  • rock and roll baby! oh yeh

  • wow, he sounds just like Chris Cornell in this song.

  • haha i just realised i have pretty much the same guitar as jasin!

  • hes getting a little older. thtswhat happens when you get old and have been singing all your life.

  • Well unfortunately you can't expect people to stay the same way forever. People age, bro. I do get what you're saying, though. It seems like he can't hit those notes like he used to. Still great though.

  • after so many years of doing that high stuff it takes a toll on you idk if you listen to slipknot but compare his singing live from the first album now in their newest ones its a hard lifestyle even though it may not seem like it

  • leather jackets aren't gay... where the f* did you grow up? candyland?

  • dude chillax i dont think theyre gay i just think he used to be the most badass guy ever on stage wearin spikes and stuff

  • i saw them in 06 i was in 6th grade and i did not know who they were or like any of this kind of music you know rock that kinda thing but when we left i started to listen to more good music plus i was listing to these guys but they just arrant the same anymore they are still amazing but not like they used two be i totally agree with you mann(:

and about the high notes he could have been sick or something or just because he is getting older idk though i wasn't there so i cant judge peace out!!!!

  • Chris Cornell with a beard

  • yeah i am awesome lol oj

  • only problem with avenged is they r shit live where as shinedown...well the vid tells the rest

  • Dont say that!!!!! they rule.... its the boom, ur speekers, and ur ears!!!!

  • lol ye sure of course it is lmao

  • I saw them live... Its also the environment.... Concerts ARE MENT TO BO OUTSIDE!!!!!

  • one of Shinedown's best songs.

  • i love Brent Smith.

  • I really like these guys but where are the back ground vocals and other guitar (during solo) coming from?

  • good point..

    hmm idk dude

  • as its fuse, they probably have a simple backing track playing :) but during the solo, just sounds like distorted bass to me but who knows

  • cry for help. very good song ;)

  • its called "cry for help"

  • Comment removed

  • When will Shinedown release their new album? End of 2010?

  • i saw shinedown at rockfest and they were amazing. i think easily one of the best performences there

  • How r u comparing nickelback to shinedown seriously shinedown is alot better!

  • How can you even compare Nickelback to Shinedown??? I have seen NB in concert and I don't think anyone in the whole arena sat in there seats the whole time they played. I give props to Shinedown but they are NO Nickelback......PS Chad sounded great live as well as the rest of the band...the drum solo was incredible! :-)

  • but you cant compare a nickleback performance to a shinedown performance

    its unbeleivable

  • nickelback are way too pop are generic sounding, brent has an amazing voice and shinedown has a different sort of appeal

  • i other words they are real rock

  • That snare "POPS" perfectly. I want that for my shows. Song rocks!

  • shinedown rocks

  • Shinedown is really good at live, wasn't expecting it!!!

  • How can you even compare shinedown to nickelback. Watch one of their live videos and see how much nickelback suck

  • I would beg to differ. Nickelback may not be your favorite but Chad Kroeger is a very talented musician. I've watched many live videos and gone to a few concerts and he manages to hit almost every single note. They're not the easiest notes either. The guitar riffs are very advanced and the new drummer, Daniel Adair, is up there with top rock drummers. That's all my opinion though. I'm not trying to start an argument. Just decifer between not liking someone and thinking they suck.

  • Well you obviously dont play any instruments. As an musician I can tell the difference between a talented experimental band (tool Queens of the stone age) And a foot tapping cookie cutter band that all the record companies can make money off of. Their drum beats are incredibly simple, all the guitarist uses are simple chords and they do so much production you cant even hear the bass. Chad is a good post production singer but sounds horrible live. And dont call me bias they seem like nice guys

  • That's funny that you think I'm not a musician because I think Nickelback is advanced. Have you given their new drummer a listen? Try a full album and then tell me he plays simple beats. They aren't anything like Tool or Queens of the Stoneage, but to me those bands aren't comparablel. And as far as Chad vocally, facts are facts. If you hit the notes, you hit the notes. It's not that hard to tell when you don't. But what do I know? I just play drums, piano, guitar, bass, and sing... :-)

  • Saw them in Omaha a few years ago and they rocked. Chad's sound was better live and so was the rest of the band than in the studio. As a musician who has recorded albums, played live for 10 years and is also a college grad for show pro, touring and recording arts i'd say that they have a decent sound and their stage show is incredible

  • best rock drummer dude

    The Rev from Avenged Sevenfold

  • hell yes! he is the shitt!!!!

    i love him, and them!

  • haha I have his drumsticks! The Rev is freakin awesome!

  • the rev is in A7X, this is Barry Kerch... unless I missed a comment.

  • yea the rev is part of A7X currently

  • Lmfao the drummer is Barry, I shook his hand :) The Rev is from A7X.

  • lol i was replying to an old comment from camarosforcharlie. i kno this is barry haha. shinedown is my favorite band! A7X is really good too.

  • Haha ah alright. xD

Awesome :P Shinedown and A7X are my favourite bands...I probably like A7X more but I've seen them both live and they are both awesome! :D
