  • Of course if you cover 80% or more of the head it'll stick. You don't need good suction for that. Try it on half the head or less. The ONLY vacuum that I've seen yet that will pick up a piece of paper on less than 1/2 the head is a Kirby. It's all about engineering proper airflow and Kirby has the patent on it's design which is WAY superior over all other designs that I've seen. I could go on, but many people won't understand this and just flame it anyway.

  • @WorshipTheSavior Erm, I wonder whether ppl think about what they say. Covering 1/2 the head with paper to support some silly point about some other brand is wholly moot for two obvious reasons: 1) This video was merely to repeat the test done by a deceitful person in another video to prove their lies wrong; 2) The normal use of a vacuum is with the whole head on the floor where the aerodynamics work as designed, and where performance is determined by more factors than just raw ‘suction power’.

  • @WorshipTheSavior However, the carpeting or flooring being under the machine forces the suction to go throughout the floor head.

  • the video where it wont pick up the paper is stupid, its obviously not going to pick it up without the full head on top of it.

  • dyson works vid and dyson doesnt work vid either way your both fags with no life

  • i didn't mean to yell (CAP letters) i was informed that it means shouting etc. i can't imagine how many years and how many people i have p-o'd by them thinking i was yelling at them. i didn't see his explanation(dropdown) about the bar. i have no propaganda motives.i just thought i saw a discrepancy in the videos and i didn't read thoroughly. my brain was fried at the time.just had finished a 3 hour sales pitch from one of those kirby salesman.they don't give up! $2k for a vacuum?ru kidding me

  • this is eben better watch?v=4UZ2gSWWRdU

  • dgreener1: @JohnnyL8 By giving his money back they are admitting there's a problem. How is your video any different than his? If your vac stopped working, would you pull down your video? Why are you defending Dyson? That is their job. Why are you trying to silence him? You sound like you are the one with the hidden agenda...sticking up for a company you don't work for...or do you? Your machine works and his doesn't, so why can't he tell us about it? You are very defensive about this...strange.

  • Refunding his money can also be interpreted as a sign of good will, not admission of a problem. Only superficially was my video the same. You’ve entirely missed the point (and judging from your attitude, that’s not surprising). His video makes sweeping general claims about all such vacs, and this can be proven/disproven by another test; that was the point of this video. Dyson isn’t being defended explicitly; it could have been any company; I just had the same vac and could do the test.

  • There’s no evidence that I’m trying to silence anyone; this is a very questionable interpretation that itself smacks of a hidden political agenda. The purpose of this video was to expose and crush stupidity and corruption. If my ONE machine broke, it would be for a reason that would be identified and corrected without going on a tirade of propaganda and deception.

  • Again, he can tell us about his problem, but he had a political motive based on corruption/lack of intelligent thinking, which made sweeping general claims that were easily disproven. Your interpretations are flawed, unsupported and demonstrate an equal absence of intelligence, and it’s wonderful that you’ve exposed this for the amusement of your betters. :)

  • @JohnnyL8 HOW COME IN YOUR VIDEO THE BRUSH IS NOT MOVING AND IN THE NEGATIVE VIDEO IT IS????? JUST A THOUGHT....................

  • @mgardner71 I politely suggest you take another (and closer) look at the video in question. Firstly he immediately stops the brushbar, and secondly, he does so because he claims he doesn’t get suction with it off. The *WHOLE POINT* of his propaganda video revolves around the bar being off.

  • @mgardner71 How is it possible you could have watched his video and not see him turn it off, or read his description and not see why he was turning it off? My guess, you didn’t carefully watch the video in question at all and simply assumed you knew what you were talking about (classic propaganda-supporter behaviour). You made bad assumptions and ultimately failed to contribute anything meaningful that didn’t simply prove embarrassing for you.

  • great demo i have the dyson dc07 all floors blue and silver and it rips through dirt like nobodys buisness! lol :D

  • 1: go to local thrift store

    2: buy an old oreck

    3: win at everything

  • i had wanted a dyson ive never had one before i thought the ball idea was amazing the price was a bit much but after seeing videos im sure now that i will get one and it also that made clear that youtube is good but not the best for getting a good legit review(unlike this video) seems like most just want to lie about a companys product

  • @Loranzo1990 Yeah that's true. You have to be very careful about judging by 'review' videos and websites, as they often don't do it properly, or have personal agendas. Currently, I'd recommend the DC25 or DC23 motorhead - depending on whether you want upright or cylinder (these are the big versions; there are smaller versions too).

  • thats*

  • is that dyson really low profile? i thought the only low profile dyson upright was the dc03! dc15 hmm... maybe hats good for my house! :D

  • how about u try running it over not freaking laying it rite own it.....

  • @avenged7x75

    erm...

    1) read description

    2) search for referenced video this was disproving

    3) learn to spell

  • I watched the other video with the title Dysons dont pick up paper, It could just be possible his Dyson Did not work, he also stated he got his money back after two Engineers had tryed to fix it. To actually film yourself hoovering paper to try to prove a point is so funny I nearly lol

  • @TheChalkychalk haha. But it's less about "proving a point", or "proving I'm right", and more about stopping the spread of mistruths and unsubstantiated damaging claims made by poor tests or people with hidden agendas, and standing up for what's true by being honest, even if that does mean making a silly video showing someone sucking up a piece of paper with a vacuum cleaner that makes some people almost laugh out loud. If it was genuinely broken and they got money back, why keep the video up?

  • The truth is there are a load of kirby salesman out there, the company has so many of these kids and bored adults being satisfied by earning MP3 players and other stuff to sell way overpriced dirt devil vacs.

In fact truthfully my dyson dc17 has more power and out cleans the newest best kirbys, how I know this, I did a test with a Kirby salesman, a kirby owner, and a few others there to witness it. Afterwards the others bought dysons, and the salesman quit.

  • Have you encountered any problems?

Would you recommend dc 25 animal?

does the dyson have the same suction as the hoover windtunnel? or dyson's performance is stronger?

  • No problems; should get another 7 years out of it at least. I would recommend the newer DC25. I don't know how its suction compares to the Hoover Windtunnel, but there's more to a vacuum than its blind suction (how it's utilised is more important). I am more confident with the Dyson approach.

  • I have a question, what dyson model is this? for how long have you had it for?

  • DC15 ball, 3 years.

  • Comment removed

  • DYSONS are CRAP! Ive used a new one and my 20 year old hoover cleans better than that pos! My FQ still kicks everything elses butt!

  • I doubt that somehow...

The formal scientific tests (i.e. not the tawdry rubbish done by Which magazine/YT videos) all show that Dysons are world class products. I don't know for sure if they are THE BEST, but they are at least amongst the best, and well designed and engineered products, with a long lifetime (if not neglected).

  • why does it say it can't pick it up if it can?

  • You'll notice that at the beginning of the title there are two letters: 'RE:'. This means "regarding" and was referring to a title someone else wrote claiming the vacuums didn't suck. It doesn't mean I meant they don't suck; it means I was referring to someone else's title claiming that they don't suck, and showing that they did.

  • i get it.

  • Who would have guessed that people care this much about vacuum cleaners...

  • You've singularly missed the point. It's less about caring about vacuums, more about caring about what is true and disproving liars and deceivers who make false claims at the expense of others.

  • @JohnnyL8 Actually I was referring to the "intense debate" in the comments, not the video. But I like the rationale you presented for making this video.

  • Ah ok.

  • ...really

There's more to a quality vacuum than whether it can suck excessively hard.

  • Umm

    1) dysons are plastic- kirbys are metal

    2) dysons have a very long channel to get to the dust bin- kirbys are direct air- right up to the fan and into the bag.

    3) Dysons are expensive to fix- Kirbys are practically do it yourself, and every part is always available for 50 + years

  • Thanks for clearing up the myth!

  • @vintagehoover Lol!! Yes all of these myths about Dysons..They work really good. But Kirby fans will point out that for the money they perform pretty much average as far as all out suction power.I think thats why you see a lot of these questionable videos.

  • Some people seem to hate a company if it does well (Like dyson) and make videos of them not working. Nice to see it does but im still on my DC07 after 5 years.

  • Dyson rock my mum has had the DC01 for 15 years just bought her the new DC25 and she loves it, ok some people might say overpriced I think not, if you want an overpriced vacuum cleaner buy an Oreck or something and then buy the crappy expensive bags that come with it, Dyson are the future now all the other vacuum companies are trying to copy his design and they fail at every point.

  • @mart270 I have had several bagless vacs in the past few years. The first one was a DC01, (too heavy and bulky which our old Hoover S3196 outperformed). A Dyson DC03 (poor suction), 2 Vax uprights and a Panasonic MCE4003. None were successful and made vacuuming a chore. The DC01 was too heavy for my mum to use. I gave it away. We now have two Hoover Juniors. They clean better and are easy to use. DC24/25s seem to be prone to brushroll motor failure:

  • I love my dyson, I still have the DC07.

  • yaay dyson!!!

  • This vac is the best ive ever had, no other can beat.
