@Suttiwit1234 You can get RISC OS 5 freely and run it in emulator or Beagleboard/Raspberry Pi/IONYX. just google risc os open and you should find it. If you have more questions you can PM me.
What was the operating system for the acorn? Did it have a unique one? Sorry, I am American and I haven't heard of Acorn computers until recently... I also apologize for the election of George W. Bush.
Well Further to my previous post on here - I weakened...:D. Ended up getting a Risc PC SA 233 about a month ago. Even found a Kinetic 233 processor upgrade card for it.... Its old but I love it loads lol.
Acorn wasn't only a software, but a hardware company, too. So the entire machine and its software was designed by them, pretty much like Apple when they used the PowerPC CPU.
They had to close down because of the lack of success. I blame their management because they seemed to be unwilling to expand to new markets. Before they closed CPU development was outsourced and ARM was founded.
My mistake, sorry. I googled the Postcode and saw a large building so *assumed* that it was the hospital! I'm from Warrington, so everything looks a blur passing by at that speed on the M6!
Did you get hold it from the National Health Service 'cos @ 5:26 when showing the top of the case there are the markings "North Cumbria CA1 3SL" (County and Postcode of Kendal General!). If you got it directly from an employee then it's technically theft from a crown state!
I got this computer off ebay back in febuary 2004. Its actually from North Cumbria Technology College (NCTC). As when i first got it, there were loads of CAD and educational programs loaded on the hard disk. Seach "North Cumbria CA1 3SL" in google maps. Cumbria, LA9 7RG is Kendal General.
I've always wanted to get a hold of an Acorn computer, but they're somewhat hard to come by here in the states. I should have picked one up when I was visiting last summer :/
super nice video! I have one as well.. a StrongARM RiscPC that I got from the UK all the way to the USA! :-) It is complete, with original box and etc etc!

@lewis95stephen Any modern PC monitor should work, with a VGA connection. CRT or LCD.

Ahhh, nostalgia. I spent a good few years of secondary school using these machines until they finally decided to upgrade to desktops running Windows.
Are these hard to come by now and what kind of price do they run? I wouldn't mind familiarizing myself with the OS again.

@komahoby
they got bought up by Morgan Standly and then dissolved in 1998...
Acorn's computers were way ahead of their time.
