  • This dub really reminds me of classic 90s anime dubs. That's a good thing.

  • This is an unbelievable dub, the swearing was awesome.

  • Hello! Can someone give me the full transcript to this video as well as translations of the Japanese text?

  • Can't get more 80's than this. It's great.

  • @Raiden3651 It's actually 90s, not 80s.

We have similar names by the way.

  • @Raiden7284677

Yeah. Is yours based on Raiden the Shmup, Raiden from MK, or Raiden from Metal Gear(mine)?

  • @Raiden3651 Raiden th eShmup. But I DO like Raiden from Metal Gear too.

  • It's like the Marker from Dead Space.

  • Big Brother? What is this? Japanese 1984?

Guess that's the reason why the Stone-like destroyed the Earth.

  • Incredible. Thank you for sharing.

  • This is totally awesome! Nice job on the dub, and it's great to see the video itself, at last, rather than the still frames shown on the translation site. Thanks!

  • Once this finally comes out on XBLA, Egoraptor should totally do a "Radiant Awesome" XD

If they actually keep the original dialog, including the swearing, it could possibly be the first M-rated shmup.

  • @vgmaster9 The game got a Teen rating for Fantasy Violence, Blood, and Suggestive Themes.

  • 2 questions:

    1. @2:54 & @3:45 What exactly did they discover in the robot’s memory that was so surprising, insane and impossible?

    2. @3:20 & @4:10 What exactly were those unknown flying objects that attacked the base and where did they come from? If that diamond prism was the cause of all this, how did it gather such a large force of flying units so quickly to destroy the entire planet?!

  • @alxxz On #1, I'm not sure. But on #2, I saw in an article on Radiant Silvergun on Wikipedia that it says somewhere in the game that the Stone Like is the guardian of Earth, and will destroy and recreate it if it deems that things must start over. Go to the articleon Wikipedia for more.

  • With profanity of this degree, the T rating might've been challenged heavily if the game was actually localized like this.

  • Did they really drop all those F-Bombs in the Japanese version?

  • "Bastard couldn't fly straight if he grew wings!"

    lol Poor Gai XD

  • God, I hope this dub become the official dub when it get releash on X Box live.

  • THANK YOU! I always wondered what the hell was going on in the cutscenes!

  • GASP! The robot has the computer voice from Ikaruga!

  • Sounds like the guy from Nadisco lol.

  • I'm pretty sure I heard about a totally translated version of the game. Does anyone know for if one exists and if so, where to find it?

  • OH SHIT that looks like the stone like from ikaruga

  • Hell, the final confrontation against the Stone-Like, as well as the way it affects the people who try to examine it, are pretty similar. It's really like a Scourge of God.

  • @riptor22hi That's because both Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun are by Treasure.

  • Oh. Wow.

This the best thing I've heard in a week. Good lord, this dub sounds mighty fine.

  • Wow, dub wasn't bad actually.

  • ...one of the best fuckin shoot em up games ever on sega saturn. ...and awesome job on the dub of intro scenes

  • Woah, much better voice acting that I thought...

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! I wonder - is there a translation of the cut scenes available (the chatter between the team members)? This was a good little job! ^_^

  • An excellent dub of the intro to Radiant Silvergun. Very impressive!

  • LOL, seeing Buster bleed profusely gets me everytime. XD

  • @BiffMP5 Yay! Yay! Yay! I win! Take that you jerk!

  • ever noticed that UNofficial dubs are WAY better than official ones!!! that's awesome!!

  • This is actually a rather impressive dub for something not official. I noticed a few parts where a bit more emotion could have gone a long way, but other than that, it was pretty nice.

  • Strange, though, that the guys who made this dub changed the year to the "common era" rather than the original game's use of AD/BC ...

  • So THATS what happened! Thanks for putting this up!

  • Great job! You nailed all the voices.

  • Ummm... you list Justus Johnston as "Creator." Just thought I'd pop in and steal the credit for at least the raw voice of Creator, though Justus did apply the filters that made it sound robotic. ;)

  • Hey, what's up. Originally, he didn't have any of the credits listed (because he didn't know who did it). I must have goofed up when sending him the credits. If it really matters to you, I'm sure he'll fix it if you send him a message about it. But otherwise, he probably doesn't monitor these comments very much.

  • I understand that the guy who did the VO for "dad" was a real pro, howd you pick him up?

  • Ah, well he wasn't technically a "professional actor", but he was a professional in two senses:

    1) I paid him to do the part and

    2) He's a professional radio personality, so he's used to manipulating his voice at least

As for how I picked him up, he was randomly a student of mine back when I was teaching my music production class. One may disagree with how he acted the part....but he did put a lot of thought into it, and he does have an amazing voice (esp. for the radio)

  • What's the credit change you need?

  • Creator: Daniel Rocco

I'm pretty sure that was the guy's name. I haven't actually talked to him for years, so I was surprised to see him comment on here out of the blue.

Sorry you keep getting bugged about this stupid video.

  • All fixed ^_^

  • Hey there! (10 months later), it doesn't matter at all, seeing how unrecognizable the voice is after you (Justus) got through with it anyway, but thanks nonetheless.

  • If we count out couple of voice actors, they did pretty awesome job for just a fan team.

    Salute!

  • This is my favorite game of all time. The effects Treasure pulled off are absolutely breathtaking; they pushed the Saturn to its pinnacle. I would argue that Radiant Silvergun on the Saturn is, bar-none, the most impressive technical achievement of the 32-64 bit era.

  • Man, I would have loved to see an RS anime movie!

  • Makes more sense now, but I still want to know what that thing was.

  • Thanks for the dub. I've always wondered what they were saying in the Japanese original...

  • omg that fucking amazing, especially for a fandub. i've been watching that opening with only logic helping me along as to watch was happening. i wasn't too far off tho...

    very good job!

Igarashi (the commander in the place with the big screen whose shouting at those 3 girls) wasn't bad, but the actor could've yelled atleast... ya know to match him onscreen more.

  • Ah, great to see this in English. Very cute/funny cutscene.

  • I wanna know why this game is so popular to fans of the SHMUP genre. Can someone tell me why this game is popular?

  • It's good?

  • It's not just a shooter. It's THE shooter.

  • The ultimate shooter too

  • this game is not for cheap skates

  • Ebb, if you have to ask this question, maybe you should try playing RS and then compare it to other shooters. This game(ESPECIALLY mint condition CDs still in the case!!) is considered the Holy Grail of Shmups.

  • you're on YouTube, watch the damn videos of it. sheesh. then save up sum dough so you can buy it. worst comes to worst you sell it on eBay for the same amount...

  • because you dont need to get power ups. you need to level up your weapons. there are so many bosses. the story is epic if you know japanese. and the soundtracks are beautiful.

  • Congratulations! Despite being amateurs, your work is almost professional! YOU should have been hired to dub "The House of the Dead 2", instead of that crappy team who made the voices there!

As the user ShmupMike said before, you should be proud!

  • Heh heh...for that matter they should have also done voice work for Castle Shikigami 2.

  • I played RS on MAME because I thought this game was the sh*t. Gamers loved it. But me, I really did. It's not as good as the Saturn version is, that counts the Xbox 360 version (it's gonna come out soon!). Still, it's an awesome game.

  • MAME doesn't run ST-V stuff properly, man.

Play it on a proper Sega Titan motherboard and it is superior to the saturn version (faster, smoother). The only way the Saturn version is better is in the animated cutscenes.

  • And the bonus level,,,,

  • Yeah, right, good luck finding THAT. I certainly couldn't be able to find an arcade cabinet.

  • Thats great man, be proud good job

  • wow that makes much more sense now.

  • Excellent quality dubbing. That Gai guy sure has a potty mouth :)

  • What the heck? Igarashi sounds like Darth Vader, Tengai sounds like a grumpy old man, Reana sounds so girlish and Gai and Buster sound like their dudes or gangsters! (Please note: this is in my opinion.)

  • Hey, this is not bad. It could perfectly fit as the intro of an official English version if it had existed. Very good job!

  • I like the way the burly guy with the white mustache sounds like the father on American Chopper. I think that's a really good fit for the character!

  • the reason why this game was not translated is because of slangs like FUCK BITCH or SHIT.

  • I'm going to have to disagree with you there. Japanese doesn't really have any actual curse words to speak of - just more crass way of saying common words. Since Gai is a pretty crass character, I took the liberty of translating him as a bit of a potty-mouth. But it's certainly possible to convey this without cursing (and besides, Sega of the 90s probably wouldn't have cared anyways).

  • In fact, in retrospect, I really wish that I had bleeped out all the curse words, because it would have conveyed the comic crassness of the character far more effectively (personally, I find bleeped curse words way funnier than unbleeped ones).

  • WOW!!! My bro's got the game, and we knew roughly what was said, but that's just cool!

Igarashi's voice could sound a bit better, instead of being calm all the time, but otherwise, awesome vid! :D

  • considering what you had to work with, not bad :D

  • Ahhh.... that explains quite a lot. Thanx

BTW, wikk you also post translations to the other RS dialogues?

  • Thank for posting this

  • Answers a lot of questions. Thank you for posting this.
