  • This is nothing compared to Nakariakov's version located here:

    youtube(dot)com/watch?v=XicAdVWttLw

  • I like how the he plays the next note before he pushes the valves. On my Bach cornet I always have to push the valves in time with the articulation.

    ;-) Beautiful playing.

  • this is amazing and played by one of my favorite trumpet players of all time :D

  • The camera man sucks!

  • Amzing sound,music!

  • Great sound, but I dont like that baby cow vibrato, anyway is awesome.

  • Great! :)

  • wow......who's the dipshit that put the "dislike" button.

  • I am so in love with Håkan!! Do you think he believes in polygamy?

    So beautiful.

  • He's a friend of mine =)

  • I respect you, Mr. Hakan Hardenberger.

  • why is the audience sitting on the floor?

  • @TICETOCAR To hail to Mr Hakan Hardenberger.

  • what a face has the piannist:))

  • Whoever disliked this, you could learned a lesson or two from Hakan, instead of hating his amazing playing, you should learned to love it.

  • I'm learning this piece right now and it's really fun but variation II is soooo hard! Got to get better at triple tonguing.

  • I love how this has no dislikes so far!

  • @meha101

  • @meha101 u jinxed it

  • @xTrumpetPROx Maybe someone just decided they no nothing about talent when they see it

  • i wonder how it would sound being accompanied with a bigband like wynton marsalis usually does it with arbans pieces...

is there a performance of that kind on youtube somewhere? if there is someone pls help!

  • A superb, flawless live performance !!

  • superrrr

  • is impressive to have a sound like that with a Bach cornet.

  • @alarachnebede no its not impressive its skill

  • @alarachnebede The musician makes the music, not the instrument!

  • Matt - it's a cornet. Which is a brass band, not orchestral, instrument. It has a softer, richer sound than the trumpet.

  • what kind of trumpet is that

  • Have you heard this version?

    watch?v=XicAdVWttLw

Does this sound like a robot? I don't think so. In fact, it is the best live performance so far.

  • k interpretacion magnifica es un gran maestro se entiende muy bien lo k intenta trasmitir esta musica es excelente

  • I love Håkan!!!!!!!!

  • 很棒~good~台北縣~阿偉

  • Sergei Nakariakov's version will blow you away.

  • @oweowedpd Sergei's version might be faster but Hakan's I think has much more soul in it rather than playing like a robot.

  • esto es verdaderamente muy hermoso.. se transmite puro sentimiento.. excelente presentacion maestro!! me gusta mucho su sonido.. es muy noble y dulce!! de verdad me gusta mucho este video!

  • This is just Beautiful!!

  • I didn't know that Johnny Depp played piano.

  • wow! er hats einfach drauf!!

  • hakan has one of the best sounds I have heard on trumpet. you can hear how alison balsom was really influenced by him!

  • whats that for a trumpet?

  • that is not a trumpet but a cornet..

  • It's a cornet

  • he's the fucking master

  • great!

  • This man is a god of the trumpet ... really impressive when you consider that it is done live.

  • on second thoughts maybe not.. but he didn't look too phased

  • those Arban variations leave absolutely no place for any hesitation after a mistake. If you get out of your triple-tongue rhythm you might as well start over

  • never tried it, but it seems harder. Though obviously more flexible, after a mistake.

I'll stick to ddg though, works for me

  • whatever works :D if it aint broke and all that

  • but you can get a clean atack on ddgddgddg, you can do this with dgdgdgdgdgdgd but not with a strong accent at the begin of each triplet, ddg ddg is a perfect choice for any arban etude, anyway if you can do this congratulations

  • d'oh! yeah sorry my bad it is of course actually a trumpet. i was totally aware of that but typed 'trumpet' by mistake for some reason

point is still true of all brass instruments anyway, so kinda irrelevant

  • Comment removed

  • just amazing!!!

  • If you listen very closely, you can detect in his sound quality that he is principally a trumpet player who is using a cornet from time to time.

If you compare his sound to Tine Thing Herseth, you will find the exact opposite - she is a cornet player who uses a trumpet occasionally.

  • Sometimes, the notes simply refuse to come out of the horn - unfortunately, that is what happened to him at about 5:01.

    Perfectly well-played otherwise!

  • does he loose the breath in 5:03?

and anyway i love his sound.

  • un grande anche lui.....

  • His intonation and embouchure is just perfect it hardly moves when he changes his range!!

  • He is v good, but his intonation isn't perfect.

    eflats mostly to high etc.

But his tuning is alive and endlessly correcting.

    Which is a good thing

  • Well, he is using a cornet, and that kind of thing happens if you are not used to the peculiarities of the cornet...

  • Consider me inspired. I think I'll attempt this (it's in the Arban) although I'll fail.

  • i had no idea it was on arbans

    thank you..

i will try as well :)

  • Truly beautiful.

  • beautiful...

  • better tags on this video!! This video needs to be seen by more people!!!

  • Only 2700 views for such a masterpiece... shame.

  • @CaptainFudges There is another copy of the same masterpiece (posted by "johncage70"), with more than 35,000 hits!

  • @CaptainFudges people would rather watch some idiot play two trumpets terribly at the same time because it was on americas got talent or some bullshit.

  • Wow! best player of our times.

  • so perfect

  • He's an amazing player... He makes it look really easy.

  • That's the sound...

  • I wish I could play this well, in ters of both style and technicality. Oh yeah and not mess up( I do that a lot).
