  • Annadel is a great place to ride! I really hope they don't close down.

  • @EvanJS5 is there talk of that?!

  • u were hualing ass

  • @solosnail Thank You :)

  • specialized stumpjumper ftw!

  • @soccermania008 close...Epic

  • Sweet! How long is this rail?

  • @Dr4ch3nst3in the descent in the video is about three miles, it is the last few miles of a 24 mile loop

  • 3:48 is like ohh crap!!!

  • @Mattmillerhahaha can be for sure, just not that time! :)

  • Ah, good ;)

  • i counted 6 people :D and plus i do hope that is youre car ;)

  • @OWENDYKES32 WAS my work car when I was out there, fun little thing.

  • Where was the camera mounted? The POV looks too low for it to be on your helmet. It looks roughly chest height.

  • @msujedi Yes chest mount, I have since moved on to chin mount full face (check my more recent Colorado videos), I like that even better.

  • @msujedi hey guys is there some good trails to go DH

  • what speedometer are you using?

  • @xman21196 Garmin Edge 305

  • What bike are we using here? Would you recommend buying a trek 3900?

  • @Deutscherfsbl Specialized Epic, the Trek is OK as a first MTB but to be honest you can get a much better bike if you go used for the same money. 1 or 2 year old MTB's are a great value especially if you are on a budget :)

  • Is this annadel in Santa rosa?

  • @sgttaka007 Yep :)

  • @chronodriver I live in santa rosa how do i get to that trail. and did u start where u ended?

  • @sgttaka007 That the Lawndale trail which is appropriately off Lawndale road. It is south of Santa Rosa towards Sonoma but before Kenwood on the right hand side. You go up the road about a mile and a half and there is a parking lot at the Lawndale trailhead. It's a great way to access the park because unlike the main entrance there is no park fee :) You can download an Annadel map of the park website, there are many options, it's a great place to ride...

  • @chronodriver sweet thanks cant wait to try it out

  • i think it is in slomo -.-

  • nice, that was fun!

  • @gavra98 Thanks I agree... it was fun, unfortunately I don't work out there much anymore so I don't get to ride that trail anymore :(

Don't feel too bad for me though, I live in Colorado (check my other videos :) )

  • @chronodriver I love to go n ride bike with friends sometimes all day long, that's why I love long tracks

  • WTF !!! you make me screaming !! O _ O

  • what bike is it?

  • @renzo1540 Specialized Epic

  • Wow.... What a ride! You musta been wiped out after that. How long was that about 2 miles?? Looks awesome. How was the climb up?? Haaa.. what's the elevation?

  • @mcolburn123 Thanks, it's not that high, about 1400ft at the top of the park, that downhill is the very last thing I do at the end of a 23 mile ride so I'm pretty spent by the time I start descending let alone finish!

  • what happens when you take 3:51 a little too fast?

  • @TheOlsMan123 personally don't have any experience there but there is a guy who posted he went over there and broke his arm! For me it's a slow corner, I worry more about spearing off into the Redwoods/rocks at a 30mph kink... neither good but the fast stuff has more potential for carnage

  • @chronodriver Its dangerous sport but thats what makes it so fun...!!

  • where is this trail?

  • I just road this trail for the first time (Diamondback Mission 2) yesterday and I wanted to put the bike through tests, play with fork/shock air pressure and just overall ride. Super fun trail!!! Great video but I think the GoPro could have been angled up a little more and a little less of the bike. I know how hard it is though to get it just right with no LCD screen. Looks like this is a better time of the year to go with harder pack from the rain. Yesterday was dry, sandy, and loose rocks.

  • What a beast

  • that looked like a pretty decent loop..nice

  • way to ride over the wooden beam like a boss

  • @samanferrari ha :) thanks!

  • wat bike?? great vid by the way

  • @DreiLeaux Thanks and 2006 Specialized Epic Comp

  • @chronodriver k thx!!! im just getting into mountain biking, so im trying to learn all the cool stuff. thx again!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i like the way ur bike looks very light weight. :D

  • Best 9 minutes of my life...

  • @Shahe5 wow errr thanks ;)

  • is mountain biking hard???

  • GREAT video.

  • @afranco82 Thanks :)

  • Nice!

  • Great video! awesome riding skills!

  • 3:24 "Hi there" ? I would've been like "WHAT THA FUCK ARE YOU DOING IN MY TRACK?!"

  • @Kable457 ahahahahahahhaa

  • awesome riding skills man! I kept leaning in my chair half of the turns :))

  • @pilviu Thanks, glad you didn't fall out of the chair! ;)

  • All I can say is Verrry Nice Handling, I thought at some Corners you went way too fast, but luckily you hit the brakes Before them! Thumbs up vid!

  • @wiremode Thanks :)

  • kgftyrygt

  • I love Downhill!

  • How many miles is that

  • Can someone answers please, isn'tit scary going on thoose trails, i mean i saw the steep clifs and stuff you rode by, and what about the rocks if you hit them to hard cant you accidently turn and fall off. Isn't that really dangerous riding out there?

  • @cal352 your kidding right!? that's exactly why mountain biking is so rewarding and so much fun! :) As for how dangerous... it's not, when you wreck on a MTB you get cuts and bruises mainly, when you wreck on a road bike you get road rash (best case) and maybe seriously injured or worse (if there was a car involved). MTBing is actually very safe considering the ridiculous level of fun!

  • @chronodriver haha still if you fell off while MTB you could brake loads of bones

  • @chronodriver People ask me the same question. I agree with you that because of the adrenaline rush you get when riding fast as fuck, and thinking "if I crash right now, I might break my neck (I don't use neckbrace, my parents won't bother paying for it lol (I'm 16, don't hate))" is what makes it fun, but I disagree with you that the sport isn't that dangerous. I've broken my ancle, given my knee a 3 inch long (quite deep) cut, and lots more. There's a reason we wear so much protection

  • @cal352 OMG ! Before to talk ,try it ! NO RISK , NO FUN !!

  • Great video, and very impressive bike handling skills! You were shredding and handling a lot of different things thrown at you at speed, and you carved through everything so smoothly! Nicely done! Yeah, I thought your bike looked like a Specialized from atop, but I couldn't tell which model until you identified it. I was thinking FSR Stumpjumper, which I own. Thanks for posting - very enjoyable video!

  • @BruinBrass Thanks you are too kind! :)

  • the 4 dislike die on the way down!!

  • OK,thanks

  • man that track is amazing o.O i want to drive theire too :)

  • wow and i thought our trails here in texas were rocky!

  • you must be spoiled, that is not a very rocky trail in my world!

  • 4 walkers don't like this...

  • @CrisR964 they were cool when they realized I wasn't a Mountain Lion :)

  • @chronodriver I've startled a few people up there myself.:) But sadly, I've been slacking off and not riding as much as I should.

  • Cool vid!! What bike are u riding? Rgds from Denmark :)

  • @Bronlund2000 Specialized Epic, just in this video though in my others I on my much better Santa Cruz Blur Carbon XC

  • Nice fast track, good rider too. greetings from CZech republic :)

  • @Josefista Thanks :)

  • thats the way gopro videos should be done no music no camera angles just a long video

  • @ibefullofme Thanks :)

  • Wow,this road is exellent:no any branches on the road, not like Russia((((

Why you did very big cadence on this semi-downhill route?Gear up! And,finally,I think it's will be very difficult to turn back on this route))))

  • @chusshko Thanks it's actually an easy climb at only 5%, it's usually the warm up for the loop we do and the descent is the finish to the parking lot. As for the gearing it's maxed out at around 150rpm at about 30-35 MPH which is standard 22/32/42 and a 32/11 cassette.

  • @chronodriver This is my backyard trail. I have been riding Lawndale Trail for nearly 20 years and I never tire of it!

Good job picking the right lines and keeping the speed up. If done right you can hit low 40mph in some sections-- it becomes a blur at that speed:).

  • what a great track..not too hard.. I'd love to try it out

  • where is this tracck??

  • @giannisometalas Santa Rosa California

  • @giannisometalas This is my backyard trail. I have been riding Lawndale Trail for nearly 20 years and I never get tired of it.

  • I always wanted to film my biking "first person" =) I like this!

  • Very nice.

  • Nice! What bike you using?! Thansk!

  • @Ke0V That's a 2006 Specialized Epic

  • @Ke0V That's a 2006 Specialized Epic

  • I have looked at probably 100 videos today, and this is the FIRST one I've seen that doesn't have a bunch of annoying clattering music blaring in the background. Not every video needs a sound track. Thank you, sir. This earns a subscription, haha.

  • @opmike343 lol, Thanks, am I weird to think the bike and rider sounds are part of the viewing experience?

  • nice car

  • @gapiize company car!

  • once I was driving downhill I met a farmer and he said to me: get away are you tring to kill someone...!!!

  • @gapiize Tell him "only myself and fortunately I am very bad at it!"

  • haha 6:10 stupid old people

  • wish i had terrain like this where i live...

  • @ttrevorr12 Time to move then!

  • awesome- go pro rules- nic eriding

  • @Isaacholbrook Thanks

  • is that a santa cruz by any chance??

  • @PVTKlim811 No Specialized Epic, my Colorado bike is a Santa Cruz Blur Carbon XC though, its in almost all my other videos (with the exception of Fruita Videos). It is a far far better bike than the Specialized Epic IMHO

  • @chronodriver /watch?v=lrcAdwHqU74&feature=channel_video_title beautiful

  • Nice video. I would probably get nervous of crashing when I would get to the more dense vegetation where the trees sit right next the to the trail and therefore be braking all the time :)

  • @hairesonyourchest honestly i have done riding lyk this and its not as bad as u think.....just try it its fun lol

  • Oh no its over

  • @diciccsh just watch the rest of my videos! ;)

  • Way to go i would mtb but im poor so i cant afford this nice of a bike I guess thats why the web is here and thats why i subed to you

  • @borninusa98 so sad, used bikes are cheap though and you don't need anything fancy to have fun, we all started out on $20 clunkers at some point!

  • Was this shot with a go pro? and if so was it mounted on a chest mount? Love the angle great video.

  • @Albon2 yes, yes and thank you :)

  • hey guys a have a question.... so i been trying to go bikeing for a while now and i dont know what kinda bike i should buy can anyone help... these are the kinds of trials im looking to ride... need something reliable and if any no more then $500

  • @pd101 the only answer for you at that price point would be craigslist. There are great bikes in that bike range that are a couple of years old. I would recommend a Giant, Santa Cruz, Trek or something like that. Make sure you ask for high res images so you can see all the components on the bike and their condition and take a buddy with you who understands Mountain Bikes. Used Mountain Bikes depreciate amazingly fast so it's a buyers market with pennies practically on the dollar... :)

  • @pd101 hey man get a norco catmandue it about 500 and its a good bike

  • Thanks Dude! :) I need to go back and ride there again, my work no longer takes me out there which is a bummer...

  • nice video dude

  • LLschoolJ2 lol, must be the wide angle fooling you, my seat is at my max for cross-country riding, I don't lower it for downhilling.

  • hey dude i saw you knee caps poping in and out on the bottem of the screen ajust your seat higher or your going to mess up your knees realy bad

  • coooooool

  • Couple questions: where is this? Why do you chest mount it?(it causes the center of the picture to be on your forks instead of the trail it self)

  • @aguywitha I have tried several different positions, the chest mount gives a great view of the bike and a pretty solid view of the trail. Lately I've been doing a full face chin mount which is a bit higher and a lot smoother (but you see less bike). Check out some of my more recent videos (in Colorado) and tell me which one you like better. It's always good to have feedback :) Thanks

  • although this was taken in 960 do we only get to view it on youtube in 360p? (would the original video be higher quality if, say played on your laptop?) 3:25 sounds like bruce from family guy lol

  • @0kojack0 you should be able to watch in 720p on YouTube since they don't support the 960p format. It does, as always, look better from the original source at full resolution and no additional layers of compression.

    "Bruce" signing off! :)

  • superbe descente et magnifique single merci

  • Way to charge it. Good technique. Favorite trail in the park by far.

    Awesome.

  • @keefloe Thanks :)

  • i wish there were jump lines this long

  • wish it was meee!!!!!

  • Harper explain?

  • @chronodriver , not bad at all, what settings did u render with?

  • @LeesOutdoorAdventure thanks, shot 960p 4:3 then trimmed in Quicktime Pro and that it. I know save in MP4 though this one is .MOV which is a bit more lossy and the sound get a step out of sync (why I switched to MP4).

  • @chronodriver thanks a lot, because i keep rendering my Rays video on the wrong settings D=...this will be my third try to render and upload. cool video i wish my city wasn't so flat :(

  • ok nice video loop i say thats a fail for you

  • Very nice, But some background music wouldn't be terrible?

  • @joelcoil it would be, not a big fan (especially with the lame choices YouTube makes you pick from), like the "natural" soundtrack :)

  • Hardtail ?

  • @Iano1233 No but might as well be (not a big fan of the Epic rear suspension)

  • ths nice flat land not much hill

  • @home11233 yes you have to pedal the whole thing if you want to have enough speed to rail the corners. The good news is that it means it's very climbable :)

  • Nice run man

  • @DJNielsvdRee Thanks :)

  • what kind of bike?

  • @theguitarguru98 Specialized Epic Comp

  • what kind of bike

  • epic ride will be going in two weeks!

  • man you'd get torn up if you fell on that trail

  • can anyone tell me what camara this is and set up?Thank you

  • @gazsuper1600 it is a GoPro HD with a "chesty" mount shooting 960p

  • @gazsuper1600 it's a GoPro HD shooting 960p (4:3 aspect ratio) mounted with a GoPro "Chesty" mount.

  • can anyone tell me what camara this is and set up?Thank you

  • looks like a pretty fun trail and is that a giant trance ?

  • @giantHUCKER1 no, it's a Specialized Epic Comp

  • i hope you realize that by law all mtn bikers must ride this trail. You have done a great service to the mtn bike community. I live in San Jose CA. day trip...i think so!!!!

  • @airsoftesneeto ha! thanks, liked your comment and you'll like the whole park, it has many great trails :)

  • dude nice video. where is this trail?

  • @kunalhuhu thanks, it's in northern California near Santa Rosa

  • @chronodriver thanks..im usually there most parts in the year. what is the name of the trail?

  • Nice video... Go faster.

  • 3:50 i broke my arm on this

  • @Mtnbikedan24 Ouch, that hairpin is diabolical, lots of ways to crash, did you go over the edge or land in the rocks?
