@alicia8136 no she won't that's ridiculous, belly dance makes your core muscles and back muscles incredibly strong and makes your spine very very flexible. I was never able to do a back bend until I started doing belly dancing. I was amazed how good it felt to stretch my back out and belly dancing does it for me

I used to be a bellydancer before but when you are too violent with your neck and back one day your spine says " cool down it's too much" you get real traumas. you know in the gulf ,women dance with their head since they are little, they are used to it!! My opinion is russian dancers are dancing too fast, as egyptians say " slow down, take your time!!"

@prettycool997 well I guess it depends on their interpretation to dance but I have seen some really good russian dancers and it all depends on the dancer. I believe Raqia Hassan is the one who did the choreography for this performance, it's her festival in cairo technically. I have this favorite russian belly dancer but it's a guy and I absolutely love him because he has such a charisma when he dances. But like I said it all comes down to the individual dancer in the end :)

@ilobead then you might want to watch a khaleeji dance because it's part of belly dance and it's a ethnic dance from egypt too and it's part of belly dance, swinging is normal part of it
