The bible does mention, rape, abortion, incest ,slavery and mass slaughter of innocents. Not in the ten commandments though. It comes out in favor of them all. god commits and orders all of these atrocities gleefully and willingly, I recommend you read the bible or google it.

He wrote "Without Him" (I could nothing/ a ship without a sail). The nut doesn't fall far from the tree (the one that spawned his beautiful wife from the land of Georgia) I love Michael Tait but that Australian accent that begun with "Simple Man" back in 1988 is hard to get used to being gone.

People listen to this music because they enjoy it, and share similar Christian beliefs to the band. Apparently their belief in their god and his magic book of stories doesn't make them less violent, less ignorant or less miserable in their marriages. Personally, I think it's a cycle. Believing in the bible makes you ignorant (since you're not inclined to search for answers and "already know the truth") , and then ignorance makes you believe more strongly in the bible.

Families with relatives that do drugs dont look that fulfilled when the cops come breaking into their house to arrest them. by the way . . . there are a lot of christians out there that are ex drug addicts and ex alcholics. You should ask them why they gave it up.

So when christianity is used to "tickle" the ears of others and/or used to promote someone else's own agenda, yeah it can and does destroy homes. It's like taking a medicine that is supposed to help you, twisting the chemical makeup, and still expecting it to work.

The bible does mention, rape, abortion, incest ,slavery and mass slaughter of innocents. Not in the ten commandments though. It comes out in favor of them all. god commits and orders all of these atrocities gleefully and willingly, I recommend you read the bible or google it.
Try Exodus 21:2-6, Exodus 21:7-11 and Corinthians 11:7 - 9 just to name a few.

@CovenantBlackwatch09 Well, the "slavery" of the OT and NT are nothing like the CHATTEL slavery that went on in Africa (and is still going on) recently. The OT specifically prohibits kidnapping someone to sell them into slavery. Sounds like slave trade is banned from the Bible's perspective if you ask me. :) So you're right, but you'll be misunderstood if you just say 'slavery isn't bad.' You need to explain the difference between contemporary and Biblical understandings of slavery.

It seamed a fog had lifted, or I had awoken from a bad dream.
That is how I would describe the freedom, in a more logical atheistic view of the world.
Funny thing is, I have said the same as a believer.
The thing is. As a believer these feeling, for me, where for the expectations of a life after death.
I did not see the world, I saw a promise of a better life in heaven.
Now, these feeling are from all the possibilities the world has to offer, here and now. I call this reality.

God could show himself to you, he could force you to believe, and showing physical proof would force people to believe in him. God loves you and he wants you to love him, but if he forced it, it wouldn't be real love. He gives you a choice, because he loves you and wants you to love him.. But don't think he doesn't give any proof, he does. People can see God through his true believers. He shines through us. He loves you.

If you are talking about the word as in the bible, you should read it all the way through.
Most Christians know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call themselves Christians. They vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of theirs.
