No, it's not. While it is true that Helio was acquired by Virgin Mobile, it is considered one of their "contract phones" and is not available as a prepaid device. It will cost you 80 bucks for the device, at least 40 dollars a month for service (500 anytime minutes, unlimited nights/weekends). If you want to have unlimited access to all of the cool things that it does, it will run you a minimum of 65 dollars a month - that's the plan I have, but I don't really talk on the phone all that much.

I had a helio ocean for a good year. its a great phone to have in tell it brake on you.i called helio to see if i can get it fixed.they said no cuz my warrenty has exspired 2 weeks ago. i still one more year on the contract with them. the only way they will fix my phone is if i singed a anouther 2 year contract with them.i think that is some bullshit because there contract last longer then cell phone do. i am telling every to NOT BUY A HELIO PHONE TRUST ME ON THIS.

i just bought one yesterday and its a GREAT phone! its so easy and simple unlike the iphone. I used to have the Samsung Blackjack and I still think its better than the Helio Ocean, but the Helio has the about the same functions along with a cheaper price.. You can buy the Helio online now only $139 i think check it out! its a great phone! 9/10 thats my rate!

One thing people seem to not like is the keyboard, I personally, am a big dude, with pretty big hands. I don't have that much of a problem with the keyboard.

It has ALOT more features such as better web browsing, video camera, better menus, etc...

One thing I'll give the Sidekick LX is that it looks a little bit better that the Ocean.

Other than looks, the Helio Ocean is better than the Sidekick in EVERY way.

i went to the website and looked at the plans. for $65 bucks i get 500 minutes(enough4me) and free everything. that means web access, gps, etc. no other phone does this for this price ($199 with a contract) i just think it is a great value. you dont have to pay xtra to access all the phones features
