Rich Rod haters really need to put things in perspective. Most of his guys never ran the spread before, and you're mad at him? WTF? Lets get some logic Poole1Dan
Only the best that these mountains offer..which is better than you can buy on any market.but what has that got to do with RR 6 play playbook ? Question is , what are you drinking besides RR's kool-aid snake juice?Sure haven't seen any amazing offensive numbers coming from AA yet....have seen some records being broken tho. Dan is right, good players, but bad coaching, will always lead to nowhere. Hell, Stewart has WVU posting better offensive numbers than RR has..and our D is ranked up there too!
the team is still young as hell dude. they're fucking 4-2 with 2 freshman QBs. they aren't going to be amazing this year, but they did turn it around from last year and it's obvious that once RR gets his guys he produces. he still needs to get his defensive guys though. 2010 and 11 are gonna be killer. but for now, i'm enjoying watching the 2009 team. kool aid anyone?
Oh, so that's why he benched his so-called "Heisman Boy".......that must be UM's new cheer..."Just wait til next year!"..cause that's all I've heard for 2 years now...seems like just about every team in NCAA ball could say the same thing...but it is always good to have dreams........RR will have to have another White, Slaton, and Schmitt to fall into his lap first...and yeah, yeah, I know about Gardner...but wasn't Robinson supposed to be the next wonder boy ?
he didn't bench him bud. making him sit out 2 drives isn't benching him. and no, robinson wasn't supposed to be the wonder boy. Tate will be, he just needs talent to throw to. and if you heard that for 2 years, it wasn't from me.
by the way, wvu, your team, went 3-8 rich rods first year there, then 9-4 the next year, then after that he won the big east titles all but one year. and you're trying to tell me he won't work out? he sure worked out with you
If Tater can't take the hits...it's gonna be a long season for him. Maybe he should have hit the weights in high school.
Didn't everyone say that the reason he did so good was because the Big East was so weak ? RR didn't star having better than 7-5 or 8-4 seasons til White, Slaton, and Schmitt stepped into the picture...it's not like he's just gonna happen into another trio like that real soon. Yeah, he worked out..but also turned out to be a classless prick at the same time.....
well duh! once he got the better players, he could win! but don't tell me, "well he only won because of pat white and steve slaton"
a player can't do shit unless he's coached right. pat white and steve slaton were like 2 stars coming out of high school. RR made them into heisman contenders within a year of coming. he. will. work. out. whether you want to believe it or not.
Then why hasn't he turned UM around with all that talent? He was nobody til PW and SS came off the bench when Gwaltney(5star) and Bednarik were hurt, after that he rode that wagon ,in their spotlight..THEY MADE HIM ! He couldn't even beat a 3-9 Pitt team to go to NC game....Sparty ring a bell ? RR good years at WVU was the trio's years..LOL
UM paid lots of money for a mediocre coach..you'll see..so far at UM he's what 7-10..wow..look at the polls..and see what OSU will do to him....ENJOY !!
Didn't Slaton go pro and Schmitt an Reynaud graduate?...or I could use the Michigan excuse..."They were in a transition year" How did michigan go from 8-4 with Carr, and a bowl win...to a dismal 3-9 ? WVU changed their Offensive scheme and had new O-coordinater and Head coach..and don't give me the "They were RR's players"....no, after he left..they were Stewarts players..maybe he just did a better job of coaching....
I can't believe that all UM fans have bought into the.."He is doing better than last year, so he has turned them around"..you forget that HE'S THE ONE WHO TOOK THEM THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!! Sad when you consider 4-2 a huge turnaround for UM...Any way you try to defend him, he has still taken UM to depths never seen before...sorry I like UM, just not RR...UM had more talent than WVU last year, but he couldn't do his magic...he's not that good ..seriously..
This is an even better speech then Tressells stupid "in the classroom in the community" speech. Look out sweater vest! You're about to become Richrods BITCH!
WHY WHY WHY did you have to fire Ron English??!?!?!?! Maybe our defense wouldn't have been like melted butter this year if he didn't hire the pinhead Stanford coordinator.
i am tired of all the whining everyone seems to give to RR. am i disapointed on this season? of course. Do i hate him for what happened? NO. its not his fault michigan didnt have the players to run the spread option. We all knew this would be a bad year and it was...TRUE fans of ANY team would back their coach and not complain about everything. That makes you look like a jackass. Everything takes time. Remember his first year at WVU. it was terrid. But look up the next few years..they got good!!
The only coach who you can blame for last seasons disaster is Scott Shafer. What defensive coordinator sits in the booth? I regret ever wanting Ron English fired. At least he was Mr. Enthusiastic on the sidelines. Shafer was a joke. But now we've got Greg Robinson. Our defense will return to being compatent next season.
You can't blame the rest of the coaches for anything. Not the assistants, and certainly not Richrod.
wow give rich rod a chance, everybody's panicking when if you knew anything about college football, you knew this was going to be a rough year for michigan. losing the players they did was going to hurt. even if they werent running the spread it would have been a rough year. but running the spread with threet and having a team of mostly freshman and sophmores is going to be hard. give rich rod two more years. we have two qb recruits for next year. be patient he will bring us back. GO BLUE!
Dude, Michigan fans will ALWAYS predict winning seasons. We are fans of Michigan. I had doubts about your 11-2 prediction, but you didn't think so. I told you we could very well be 5-7 this season before it started. If you want to fire RR now, Michigan would be even worse off. RR CAN develop our team into a contender. You know what, if you don't want to stay friends then forget you...
"If you want to fire RR now, Michigan would be even worse off."
Bullshit. The longer we keep dickrod, the deeper the hole we are digging ourselves into. Eventually, we won't be able to get out, so we need to fire dickrod now to avoid getting ourselves into a hole that we can't get out of. Recruits are decommiting, players are transfering, and michigan is losing. dickrod has created a perfect storm at Michigan. Fuck that shit!!!
" I told you we could very well be 5-7 this season before it started"
But you don't even care that we are having a losing season. You brainless shitheads accpet it like it meeans nothing. Thats the problem I ahve with fucktards like you: you are so in the tank for dickrod that you don't even care that he's tearing apart our program.
I will NOT sit back idly and let you assholes defned dick fraudriguez as he destroys the team I love and cherish. Not a fucking chance. I ahve no toelrance for you clowns, and neither do milliond of true Michiganf ans like me who cna;'t stand the fact that dickrod is destroying our storied football team
Get a new username you 14 year old fucker. "amazienblue86." Not so amazing under dikrod huh?
Keep whining asshole, nothing is going to change. The Michigan program isn't as stupid enough to fire a coach after one season. It's never happened before, and it won't happen anytime soon. Tell me this, what is Michigan going to do after firing Rodrigeuz. Hmm? Yeah, that's right nothing. We'll be without a decent coach and with a inexperienced team. There's no such thing as winning all the time. We are not going to win every game. Go whine at your website you dipshit. Such a huge baby...
"It's never happened before, and it won't happen anytime soon."
Michigan is not gonig to fire dickrod after one season. I know that. He'll be around for next season unless he resigns. But after enxt season, when Michigan goes 5-7, he's gone, and so is Bill Martin
"Tell me this, what is Michigan going to do after firing Rodrigeuz. Hmm?"
Hire a head coach from the chemebechler tree. That's what. Cam Cameron pr Brady Hoke would be ideal
Dude, all Michigan fans hate to see Michigan lose, but it's a part of life. There's no way you can say there is enough talent on this team right now to compete in the Big 10. Either way, hiring a new coach would be stupid. He would have to recruit a whole team instead of RR's players. On the other hand, RR can already do that and improve Michigan greatly. How about this: I'll admit that I was wrong if Michigan does not show a decent amount of improvement next season. Now c'mon let's beat OSU.
"There's no way you can say there is enough talent on this team right now to compete in the Big 10."
Stop listening to jessa palmer and the douchebags on BSPN and face reality: Michigan is laoded with talent on both sides of the ball, especially on defense. Thats what happens when you bring in 66 four or five star recruits over a 5 year span. The problem is, dickrod and his staff have failed miserably to utilzie it. Hence, the 3-9 record
"He would have to recruit a whole team instead of RR's players. On the other hand, RR can already do that and improve Michigan greatly"
WTF? What kind of ttisted logic is that? Apaprently you haven't realized that Michigan is 3-9, recruits are decommiting left and right, key players are quitting/transfering left and right, and dickrod has admitted more attrition is yet to come!!
If we fire dickrod and hire an inhouse coach, we can go abck to being winners again.
Dude, even with Lloyd Carr this season, we would've went 6-6 at best. We lost EVERYONE on offense. Bill Martin is not that stupid, we will make the spread work at Michigan. Fans need to settle down and be patient. I'm doing my best to man, trust me.
So? We returned 7 of 11 starters from a defense that was 24th in the nation in total defense and 23rd in scoring defense, and we returned plenty of talented, rpven, experienced players ready to step in for the departed starters on offense (Carlos brown, Brandon Minor, Greg mathews, Junior hemnigway, Carson Butler, Kevin grady, Mark orttman, Tim mcAvoy, Stephen Schilling). THE TALENT WAS THERE!!!! But dickrod failed to utilize it!
Yeah right. if we ahve Carr or any inhouse coach, we go no worse then 8-4. we wpuld ahve beaten Utah, Notre Dame, Toeldo, Michigan State, Northwestern, and possibly Penn State if Carr was around. You are delusional if you think we didn't ahve talent or experience this season, cause the self evident fact is that we did. Its dickrods fault that he didn't put our talent and experience to good use (aka, victories)
Dude! Look at our offense! Look at it! No one on the offense! Carr would have went 6-6 at best! We had no receivers, no QB, and no TB (besides Mcguffie, who was forced to start). Our defense was great, they just got too tired at the end of games because... of the offense that was unexperienced.
"We had no receivers, no QB, and no TB (besides Mcguffie, who was forced to start)"
That is a LIE. We had two fine QB's in Steven threet in Justin Feagin, a boatload of excleent tailbacks in Carlos brown, Brandon Minor, and McGuffie (Grady is also a proven success as a substitute, and he's experienced). At receiver, we ahd two experienced, talented player sin greg mathews and Junior Hemnigway. And we had a fantastic TE in Carson Butler. THE TALENT WAS THERE!!!
"they just got too tired at the end of games because... of the offense that was unexperienced."
The defense was shit because shafer cou;dn't coach at all. but don't miss the point: you said we don't ahve talent, and thats where you are dead wrong. we had ton sof talent and experience on offense, and even more talent and experience on defense. we had NO EXCUSE for winning less then 8 games this season, but instead we finished 3-9. THAT IS THE COACHES FAULT!!!
u realize more than half of the starters on offense are freshman right? and steven threet a good qb? are you serious? he cant pass for shit, hes slow, and he sells fakes horribly.
the spread offense needs different players and when you just switch, u need a couple of years to get recruits that are faster. but i do agree that shafer sucks that defense was awesome last year
against the competition Michigan faces? not a fucknig chance. The spread option didn';t work for Illinois or Northwestern, and it won't work for Michigan either. oh, and BTW, Einstein defined insanity as donig the same thing over and over and expecting different results, so how the fuck is dickrod doing the same thnig voer and over gonig to work? Answer: it isn't. Michigan will be 5-7 next season. want to make an online money bet on it?
Optimism? LOL. How many games do you think we will win enxt season cherriopisser? 2? ROFL. i say we beat both MAC teams we play, Purdue and indiana at home, and EITHER wisky or Michigan state on the road (but not both). We lose to everybody else.
"Michigan played 2 of the 3 worst MAC teams this year and split. I would make no assumptions"
Well, i'm one of the biggest Dickrod haters out of any Michiigan fans, and even I say that we should be "improved" next season (meaning we will win more then 3 games). Notre dame, for example, was better by default this season. So we'll be "better" next season in the literal sense of the word, but we won't improve enough for dickrod to keep his job. Ditto Billy martin
Of course against the competition Michigan faces! Look at what the spread offenses did to teams like OSU, Wisconsin, and MSU. RR will recruit the right players and defense to make the spread work. The Big 10 isn't a strong conference, RR will make the spread work against Big 10 teams.
"Look at what the spread offenses did to teams like OSU, Wisconsin, and MSU. RR will recruit the right players and defense to make the spread work."
Thats not the spread option you're talknig about. The the teams that ripped apart all the teams you talked about didn;t run the spread option (Illinois is the lone exception, and 2007 was obviously a one game fluke)
I told you: The wildcats and Illini prove that the spread option doesn't work against Big Ten teams
You're right. Its not. But think of it like this: the Big ten is an 8-8 NFL team, while the Big East is a 1-15 team. Now the 8-8 team (Big ten) is not "good" in and of itself, but its a helluva lot better then the 1-15 team (Big East).
So i'll say it again: dickrods spread option may ahve worked in the Big East, but it won't woek in the Big Ten. The prrof is in the pudding (NW and Illinois)
Bad news doesn't get better with time smart one. Dickrod can't improve Michigan when he has created a perfect storm. He's not coaching at a mid major Big Least school anymore. he's coachnig at the NO.1 program of all time. He can't even handle the media properly, hence the "get a life" comment 9among other things). Dickrod is a total idiot and a total loser piece of shit. He' lucky he doesn't live in my neightborhood, cause I'd loot his goddamn house
"Dickrod can't improve Michigan when he has created a perfect storm"
What are you talking about?? Michigan wasn't expected to make any noise with a pro style offense this year anyways. RR is implementing a whole new system.
"Michigan wasn't expected to make any noise with a pro style offense this year anyways"
I don't care whether we ran the prostyle or the Capital one Bowl offense. Either way, we would ahve gone 8-4 instead of 3-9. How do i know this? Cause in those types of offense, our tremendous talent would ahve been utilzied and exploited, and the results would ahve been quite pleasant. but NOOOOO, dickrod has to jam the spread option down our throats.
What else is supposed to do? Not preach what he believes in? Look, the players are beginning to understand his ideas and beliefs. If RR had run a pro-style offense this year, it would be even harder to implement his spread in the future. There is no way we could have gone 8-4, no way in hell. Our offense was completely gone. I agree, we had a great defense, but the offense couldn't sustain drives long enough for the defense to rest. It would have been the same without RR.
"If RR had run a pro-style offense this year, it would be even harder to implement his spread in the future"
Again, i do not think dickrod should ahve run a prostyle offense. he should ahve run a version of the spread offense that fits the players skills. The capital one Bowl offense is exactly that: a version of the spread that fits our players skills. if we run that offense, we go 8-4 bar minumum. i guarantee it.
It doesn't matter that he's imp, ementing a news system. Many ehad coaches who were implementing new systems and bringing about a culture change had IMMEDIATE success in year one (on eof them is Gleen E "Bo" schembechler), so whyc an't dickrod do likewise?
Answer: cause dickrod is a shitty ass head football coach who Michigan NEVER should have hired (in hindsight)
"Many ehad coaches who were implementing new systems and bringing about a culture change had IMMEDIATE success in year one (on eof them is Gleen E "Bo" schembechler), so whyc an't dickrod do likewise?"
Maybe because RR wants to run a completely different offense without the playeres needed. You have to realize, this isn't the pro-style offense. This is the spread! Teams who work the spread to perfection are dangerous. The Michigan program knew it was time to implement the spread.
"Maybe because RR wants to run a completely different offense without the playeres needed."
Thats why you adjust your offense to fit your players skills isntead of jammnig square pegs into round holes. Tressell realizes this, as does every other big game coach. Dickrod doesn't cause he's too blind and stupid to realize it
Also, I do not advocate runnnig the prostyle. I advocate running a version of the sread that fits our personell. like, say, the CAPITAL ONE BOWL OFFENSE!!
So poole1dan, you are suggesting that we keep running the offense we've been running for 40+ years and going mediocre 9-4 and 10-3 every year, instead have 2 bad seasons at the most, then in a few years become a national powerhouse? And "running the version of the spread that fits our players" CMON. These guys don't know anything about the spread at all! Thats why they haven't performed as well and why Rich is working so hard to teach them! These are mostly Lloyd's recruits for old I formation!
" you are suggesting that we keep running the offense we've been running for 40+ years"
You're putting words in my mouth. I never have nor ever will say that we should keep on running the offense that we ran under Carr and moeller and Schembechler. I think we should run the spread offense. However, I also think we should run a version of the spread offense that fits our offensive personell. I'm a prudent person, you know.
"These guys don't know anything about the spread at all!"
fucknig bullshit. did you even watch the Capital One bowl? We scored 41 points and put up 534 yards with PROSTYLE PLAYERS and beefy, immobile offensive linemen. Do not tell me these guys know nothnig about the spread. The spread is a flexible offense. any group of players can run a given version of it.
Well ya I would hope they would finally figure out the damn spread after getting trounced twice already that season with it. (App St. and Oregon)
But all of the guys from that team are gone now, and these new guys do not know the spread. At all! He is teaching them what he knows, and in a few years, they will know it down pat. Just be a little patient...
Like I said, I wouldn't expect us to score 41 points and put up 534 yards of offense every game what with Henne, Hart, Long, Manningham, and Arrington all departing. I'm just saying that players recruited for a prostyle offense can run the spread offense of the version of the spread you are running fits your players skillset (which the capital one bowl offense does for prostyle players).
thats an ambigious statement on your part. Its not that our players didn't know the spread offense writ large. Its thats they didn't know-nor will capable of playing in-Richrods spread option offense. The spread option is radically different from the spread that we ran in the capital one bowl. the spread that we ran in the capital one bowl was essentially Oklahomas spread minus the no huddle.
I guarantee you our offense is at elast respectable if we run the capital one bowl offense. Our players can run that offense. But noooooo. dickrod has to jam the spread option down oour throats, and look at the results: only 7 d-1 teams finished worse in total offense. The great coaches (Tressell, Carroll, meyer, Stoops, Mack Brown) adjust to ther team. dickrod did not. He should ahve been fired right after last season. We're stuck with him for at least one more season
" they will know it down pat. Just be a little patient"
kentucky was not patient with Billy Gillespie, and I and every other anti-dickrod fan will not be patient with Rodriguez. Patience is a foreign concept at programs like Michigan.
"Thats why they haven't performed as well and why Rich is working so hard to teach them!"
more bullshit. Dickrod is forcing the spread option down their throats. he's jamming square pegs into roundholes, so to speak. thats a recipe for disaster. if he had run something like the Capital One bowl offense, rest assured our offense is exponentially better then what it was. I'm not saying we would ahve been as potent as we were in the capital one bowl, but we would ahve been at elast respectable.
"Teams who work the spread to perfection are dangerous"
You don't understand somethnig thats very key: the spread option offense that dickrod runs is just one of the many versions of the spread offense. The spread as a whole is the ebst offense in football, but there's a bad apple in every barrell, and dickrods spread option is a rotten apple in an othewise leicious abrrell of apples. Do you understand what i'm saying?
"all Michigan fans hate to see Michigan lose, but it's a part of life"
fine. be a jackas and accept a 3-9 record like it means nothing. But like is aid: when dickrod is fired cause Michigan bombs out under him, you ahve nobody to blame but yourself for supporting his sorry ass
Its gonig to be one lnog offseason for dickrod and his cultist supporters. Get ready tp hear shit from real michigan fans like me for 9 long months
"fine. be a jackas and accept a 3-9 record like it means nothing."
No duh you've got to accept it, what are you going to do? Go back in time and not hire RR? RR's track record shows he CAN win. This will be a long offseason. We will improve.
yeah, he's proven he can win when the competition is shitty. So don't tell me about his track record. it doesn't mean jack shit. "He wins whereever he goes." DOESN'T MATTER!!! This is Michigan, not a mid fucknig major like West Virginia or D-3 Glennville state!!!!!
you're missing my point kid: you and prodickrod fans like you don't give 2 shits that we finished 3-9. But on the other hand, true fans like me are fucknig psised that we finished 3-9 and we demand accountability from the head coach. But you ahve no concept of "righteous anger," hence making you a pathetic, fair weather, fake Michigan fan who knows NOTHING about our rich hisotry of winning. You don't even demand accountability for this crime of a season!
i told you: bad news doesn't get better with time. For an example of what I'm saying, 911 is just as much of a devestating terrorist attack now as it was 7 years ago. Bitch Fuckriguez has led us to our worst season in school hisory, and you think he will take us to glory? Pathetic. Just pathetic. You wouldn't reelect a president who was a fuckup in his first term (ala Jimmy Carter), so why would you stand by a caoch who's fucked up your team? It makes no sense
"We'll be without a decent coach and with a inexperienced team"
No and no. We'll ahve a much better ehad coach then that didiot, Rodriguez. And inexperienced? When has Michigan ever been inexperienced? Answer: never. Its Michigan you fucktard. We don't rebuild. We reload. Your daddy is an alumni, so you should know that.
"Go whine at your website you dipshit"
That ain't my website you dumb bitch. It was created by fans just like me who want Michigan to be WINNERS
Nobody is suggesting that Michigan should win every game. That is impossible. But 3-8? Thats unacceptable. Dickrod was hired to win football games, and he's not winnnig hardly any, so he needs to be FIRED
Thats exactly why dumb cunts like you shouldn't root for the Wolverines. True fans like me expect excellence, and you call us babies. You motherfuckers have no standards for excellence, and thats sickening. You'd be better jumping off a cliff or moving to somalia then disgracing yourself by rooting for the number one college football program of all time
You're a fucking joke. you and every other idiot who supports dickrod
that would be real stupid mhs. I can see you know nothing about football. The defense is the main problem right now not threet. When threet is in the offense moves pretty good. The defense was supposed to be the best defense weve had since 97 and it has been horrible
I don't think he was saying Threet is bad (although he might have been. I can't speak for him). But like, I don't think Threet has been bad at all. Threet has been solid given the circumstances. But Feagin should be used as a change of apce substitute, you know?
He didn't seem this phony early on at WVU. I had heard he was an egomaniac and dishonest, but it was easy to forget when he was bringing us wins. Now I can't decide if I am just bitter, or if he really is that phony. Did any of the loyal cringe when he made that Michigan Man statement?
its too bad osu gets thier ass beat when ever they play a true spread offense, we'll see how that turns out now that we got rich as head coach, FUCK osu GO BLUE. 2008, MICH 38 OSU 20
Ohio State fans never went into any Michigan game during that span without a chance of winning the game. Most of those losses, Ohio State was favored.
Look at your team...I couldn't imagine how you feel.
also, bewtween the 8 players I mentioned, they ahve a combined 40 games experience. Brown and Minor were the featured subs at TB. Mathews and Hemingway were the two slot receivers. Butler started at TE, and Schilling started at TR. McAvoy and Orttman saw lots of playing time last year due to injuries. And his drunk driving incident notwithstanding, Grady is finally healthy after being a sub in 2005 and 2006.
Typical scUM fan that can't count. 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2006. That is FOUR years, not five. Maybe I'll pay for for my pizza to get you off my porch sometime soon.
Yeah of course dick rod won't guarantee anything vs ohio state. He knows we flat out own them right now, and with pryor, the osu-scUM "rivalry" may not be a rivalry anymore.
Hey kilwich u fucking moron for sure ur from wv u stupid hick. He came too a mich basketball team full of freshmens. If you hicks down there had something called a T.v you would know what iam talking about u stupid fuck.
He's a Michigan man alright. Minus 4 million dollars. It's going to be fun watching this guy flop like Belein in basketball. As I remember, everyone in Ann Arbor was acting like he was the saviour of Rome when they snatched him from WVU. Look at him now, losing to HARVARD. lol your team is trash.
rich is not inhereting a ton of experienced players this is prolly the most inexperienced team in a long ass time! and im pretty sure michigan is a better football confrence maybe not right now but of all time yeah MICHIGAN OHIO STATE PENN STATE! those three teams of all time whoop anyones asses GO BLUE
"2. Unlike Beliein, RR is inheting a ton of experienced, and ultra talented players"
Didn't scUM just lose henne, hart, manningham and long? Now I agree that the defense returns some experienced and talented players, but the offense is almost all raw players.
I've been through this with you before. On offense, Carlos Brown, Brandon Minor, Greg mathews, Junior Hemingway, Carson Butler, Stephen Shilling, Tim McAvoy, and Mark orttman all have experience. Mathews, Butler, and Schilling are returning starters.
And plus, this is Michigan football, which is lightyears better then Michigan basketball
Michigan football is not lilghtyears ahead of anything this season. You need to understand that the entire offense is learning a new system, and there has to be a period of time that it will take them to adjust. I can't see any offense just adjust with no problem to a completely new offense from one year to the next. You mention that they all have experience, but how much - maybe 5 games combined?
It'll take probably 6 games for the offense to gel. Keep in mind, Michigan ahs the best athletes around because Lloyd carr consitently bought in great recruiting classes. It doesn't take an entire year for great athletes to adjust to a new offense. They adjust relatively quickly. the offense will go through some growing pains in the first 6 games, but after that, it will be just fine. And besides, our defense willg et us through the first 6 games
Rich Rod's record at Michigan: 0-1. He lost his first battle to his alma mater, West Virginia, in the $4 million dollar bowl. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! So now it really looks like Richy boy PAID his way to get the job at Michigan. Sad Story indeed. GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least he was smart and left the hicks and cousin butt fuckers in WV. I attend UNC but since our football program sucks I am a huge Michigan football fan. I hope you guys have a good season and I hope that you kick Ohio States ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not to mention the game is at the Big House, where michigan always kicks Michigan states ass (2004 being the only exception). Michigan is going to smoke the Spartans by 3 TD's in 2008.
It's a re-building year. Don't expect much. Then you won't be disappointed, and if UM wins 7 games, you'll be pleasantly surprised. This year will be VERY interesting in the Big10. I wonder which team will surprise everyone. Wisconsin's supposed to be pretty good, but MSU could also shock some people. They were pretty good last year and were beating OSU into the second half last year until we closed the lid on them. GO BUCKS! Going for 3 straight Big Ten Championships and 5 in a row over UM.
"and u have no true leader on that team. It's time for MSU to make a comeback"
We don't have a leader like Long, but we have plenty of seniors on our defense who will collectively be excellent leaders (like Terrance Taylor and Morgan Trent)
Also, what the hell does MSU ahve in 2008 other then javon Ringer? You lost all your good players on defense, you still ahve those two god-awful cornerbacks (Henderson and Davis clark), your QB sucks, you have and you ahve no receivers except for Dell
RG=Cory Zirbel, redshirt junior (just like moosman, he's a former 4 star prospect wh finally has a chance to shine)
RT=Mark Orttman, redshirt junior (he say some nice playing time last year when schilling was banged up)
"most of your defense is gone"
Wrong yet again. We return 7 of 11 starters from aunit that ranked 24th in the nation in total defense. Our defense might be the best in the Big ten next season
Yeah right. I loved the way he said "Amen" when the fans chanted "beat the Buckeyes." That was a "you'll be proud off our players" moment for the Michigan Wolverines
I totally agree. Michigan has consistently gotten better recruting classes then the Buckeyes, but many more Buckeyes have gone to the NFL then Wolverines in the last 7 seasons. However, that was because Lloyd Carr was our head coach. Now we have a proven winner in Rich rodriguez. Its a new game now.
What do you mean, "cuz Lloyd was our coach". I'm a State fan and think you're full of shit on that comment. Lloyd was a great coach and Dick Rod is breakin your tradition b4 the start of the season. Dont get over your head on this Walmart fan.
I mean that lloyd Carr has done a horrible job at developing players at Michigan. he gets all these great recruting classes every year, and very few of those players actually live up to their potential. Rich Rodriguez, on the other hand, has a mde a powerhouse at WVU out of 2 and 3 star recruits (Pat White, steve Slaton, Pacman Jones, and Chris henry were all 2 and 3 star prospects coming out of highschool)
No he hasnt, he's developed great players such as Mike Hart a 3 star, he turned Jake Long into a 1st rounder and he was only 4star and what about Leon Hall, Tom Brady, and Chris Perry. They made it well. Lets also look at this, the players you named, Pacman and Chris Henry. Whats happened with them now? Pacman was suspended for a year and Chris Henry is indefinitely. Lloyd can at least bring good character out of SOME of his players. Then again...Muck Fichigan, Go Green! =)
Like I said, VERY FEW of Carrs recruits have lvied up to their potential. Hart actually exceeded his potential. I guess Long did as well (although he sucked against Ohio State and in bowl games) . But aside from Hart, Long, and Charles Woodson, has any Wolverine actually exceeded their potential under Carr? No. On the other hand, coaches like Jim Tressell and Rich Rodriguez are constanly making superstars out of nobody's (like Troy Smith and Pat White)
Also, Leon Hall, Tom Brady, and Chris Perry weren't noboy's who Carr turned into superstars. They were 4 star recruits comnig out of highschool, and they were three of the few Wolverines who actually lived up to thei potential. How come 5 star studs like prescott burgess, gabe Watson, Tim Massaquoi, Chad Henne, and pat massey weren't top 10 draft picks?
Most of carrs players have failed to live up to their tremendous potential. Carr ahs faield to develope his players
Get used to us winning the next few years in football like in b ball, cuz we got some good recruits coming in with good players and a really good Coach. Go Green!
"Get used to us winning the next few years in football like in b ball, cuz we got some good recruits coming in with good players and a really good Coach. Go Green!"
Really good recruits? Whens the last time your recruting class was even in the top 20 much less the top 10? And you DO realize that we've won 6 straight, 7 of the last 8, 10 of the last 12, and 8 straight at the Big House against you guys? Please, Michigan OWNS Michigan State, and that will continue under RR.
Doesnt matter what you've done in the past. Thats cuz you had a good coach who u keep calling garbage (even though u probably rooted for him most of the time) and Michigan isnt predicted to even make a bowl game next year. At least State was in 1 mock25. Michigan has no real QB for the spread, no real RB for the spread either, their O-line is basically all freshman, most of your defense is gone, and u have no true leader on that team. It's time for MSU to make a comeback
"Thats cuz you had a good coach who u keep calling garbage (even though u probably rooted for him most of the time)"
I was a Carr supporter up until 9/01/07, and i'm sure you know what that date is. Carr was indeed a good coach. Actually, he was a really good coach. But this is michigan. We expect and demand greatness. We are the Number 1 college football program of all time, and Carr wasn't delivering satisfactory results. He had to go. Bring on RR!
"and Michigan isnt predicted to even make a bowl game next year"
Yeah, and the people making those predictions don't know shit about the Wolverines. Why don't you get a predicition from someone who actually specializes in Michigan football? Like Michael Spaeth of rivals. He has the Wolverines going 10-2, with losses to penn state and ohio state, and he has them finishing in the top 15.
Those idiots at ESPN don't know shit. Mark may once said Vanderbil "outplayed" us. They are shitheads
Yes they do. Justin Feagin can run the triple option and zone read stuff, and Steven Threet-the starter-has the potential to be the next Shaun king, a pcoketpasser under RR who led Tulane to a 12-0 record in 1998. Also, both Threet and Feagin are better then fucking Brian Hoyer.
Wrong. Carlos Brown and Sam McGuffie are perfect for RR's spread offense, and we can also have to speedy powerbacks in Brandon Minor and Kevin Grady. We won't miss Mike Hart at all in 1008.
On the other hand, RR has done a tremendous job in developing his players. Pacman and Henry are ahving legal issues in the NFL, but the fact is, they were nobody's coming out of highschool, and RR turned them into superstars. RR developes his players, period, and thats what he will do at Michigan
Also, considering you are a Fartans fan, you should get used to mcihigan owning your asses for another decade. Go Blue!
Lol, i luv arguing with MIchigan fans, Lloyd brings good character out of his players and did make Chris Perry a Doak winner(pretty hard) and Tom Brady i guess... was able to develop in the pros. Gabe Watson is a starter in the NFL and Henne could even be starting for Miami. And you shouldnt get too cocky about Michigan football. The Spartans are ready to take you on with whatever advantage we can get, even if it's a team full of players not used to the spread
"Lloyd brings good character out of his players and did make Chris Perry a Doak winner(pretty hard)"
So does RR. Pacman and Henry are the only premadonas RR had at WVU, and even then, they never gave RR much trouble at WVU. Also, Perry was a frickin 5 star prospect. He was SUPPOSED to be a Doak Walker and Heimsen finalist
Please. Tom Brady is Bill belichiks creation. He was only a 6th round draft pick, may i remind you. He was a good QB at michigan (especially in the second half of 1999, where he played like a Heismen candidate), but Belickik evelvated brady to legendary status, not Carr.
"Gabe Watson is a starter in the NFL"
Great. What did he ever do at Michigan? He never came close to living up to his tremendous potential. He was a FOURTH round draft pick!
True, but Henne was a 5 star prospect coming out of highschool, and after a spectacular true freshmen season, he never lived up to his potential. He enver beat Ohio State, won only one bowl game, and was a 2nd round draft pick. If Henne went to Ohio State, he would ahve led the Buckeyes to an NC and would have been a top 10 pick. Henne was yet another Lloyd carr player who didn't live up to his potential
oh, and i thought RR would be a good fit for Michigan football. But the recent things i've been reading on him about him giving away the #1 jersey to a CB(even though he changed it back), he's not naming a specific senior captain, and that several lineman have dropped from the team due to family issues like Borin and Mitchell, and the fact he's had legal issues lingering about. The more I hear on RR, the more I dont like what he'll do to your program. UM football wont be the same with him.
"and that several lineman have dropped from the team due to family issues like Borin and Mitchell"
Boren and Mitchell were grade A pussies. I don't know what tea Carr was serving them, but RR is weading out the pussies from Carrs regime. RR wants tough, hard nosed football players on the Wolverines, and so do I. Boren and Miitchell can fuck themselves. I lvoe the physical and mental toughness RR is inserting at Michigan. Its going to pay huge dividends.
I'm going to ask this question again, as there are alot of Wolverines haters on this board: WHO IS MICHIGAN GOING TO LOSE TO IN 2008 THAT WOULD DROP THEIR RECORD TO 6-6 OR 7-5?!
I hear you..But i could not do it..LMAO..See Ya bitch...You can change coaches but you can not change beatings....GO BUCKS

Rich Rod haters really need to put things in perspective. Most of his guys never ran the spread before, and you're mad at him? WTF? Lets get some logic Poole1Dan
Tigersfan829 2 years ago
Looks like after 2 years, they still don't know how to run the spread..........except the points spread......
shelldawv 2 years ago
what are you smoking?
Tigersfan829 2 years ago
Only the best that these mountains offer..which is better than you can buy on any market.but what has that got to do with RR 6 play playbook ? Question is , what are you drinking besides RR's kool-aid snake juice?Sure haven't seen any amazing offensive numbers coming from AA yet....have seen some records being broken tho. Dan is right, good players, but bad coaching, will always lead to nowhere. Hell, Stewart has WVU posting better offensive numbers than RR has..and our D is ranked up there too!
shelldawv 2 years ago
the team is still young as hell dude. they're fucking 4-2 with 2 freshman QBs. they aren't going to be amazing this year, but they did turn it around from last year and it's obvious that once RR gets his guys he produces. he still needs to get his defensive guys though. 2010 and 11 are gonna be killer. but for now, i'm enjoying watching the 2009 team. kool aid anyone?
Tigersfan829 2 years ago
Oh, so that's why he benched his so-called "Heisman Boy".......that must be UM's new cheer..."Just wait til next year!"..cause that's all I've heard for 2 years now...seems like just about every team in NCAA ball could say the same thing...but it is always good to have dreams........RR will have to have another White, Slaton, and Schmitt to fall into his lap first...and yeah, yeah, I know about Gardner...but wasn't Robinson supposed to be the next wonder boy ?
shelldawv 2 years ago
he didn't bench him bud. making him sit out 2 drives isn't benching him. and no, robinson wasn't supposed to be the wonder boy. Tate will be, he just needs talent to throw to. and if you heard that for 2 years, it wasn't from me.
by the way, wvu, your team, went 3-8 rich rods first year there, then 9-4 the next year, then after that he won the big east titles all but one year. and you're trying to tell me he won't work out? he sure worked out with you
Tigersfan829 2 years ago
If Tater can't take the hits...it's gonna be a long season for him. Maybe he should have hit the weights in high school.
Didn't everyone say that the reason he did so good was because the Big East was so weak ? RR didn't star having better than 7-5 or 8-4 seasons til White, Slaton, and Schmitt stepped into the picture...it's not like he's just gonna happen into another trio like that real soon. Yeah, he worked out..but also turned out to be a classless prick at the same time.....
shelldawv 2 years ago
well duh! once he got the better players, he could win! but don't tell me, "well he only won because of pat white and steve slaton"
a player can't do shit unless he's coached right. pat white and steve slaton were like 2 stars coming out of high school.

UM paid lots of money for a mediocre coach..you'll see..so far at UM he's what 7-10..wow..look at the polls..and see what OSU will do to him....ENJOY !!
shelldawv 2 years ago
then why did they go 11-1 his last year and 9-4 the year after with a different coach?
Tigersfan829 2 years ago
Didn't Slaton go pro and Schmitt an Reynaud graduate?...or I could use the Michigan excuse..."They were in a transition year" How did michigan go from 8-4 with Carr, and a bowl win...to a dismal 3-9 ? WVU changed their Offensive scheme and had new O-coordinater and Head coach..and don't give me the "They were RR's players"....no, after he left..they were Stewarts players..maybe he just did a better job of coaching....
shelldawv 2 years ago
"why hasn't he turned UM around with all that talent?"
uh, believe he's already won more games this year than last year total. that isn't turning around?
plus he hasn't got ALL of his talent yet, he still needs to get some corners and safteys.
Tigersfan829 2 years ago
I can't believe that all UM fans have bought into the.."He is doing better than last year, so he has turned them around"..you forget that HE'S THE ONE WHO TOOK THEM THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!! Sad when you consider 4-2 a huge turnaround for UM...Any way you try to defend him, he has still taken UM to depths never seen before...sorry I like UM, just not RR...UM had more talent than WVU last year, but he couldn't do his magic...he's not that good ..seriously..
But he's all that UM has for now..

birdman814 3 years ago
The only coach who you can blame for last seasons disaster is Scott Shafer. What defensive coordinator sits in the booth? I regret ever wanting Ron English fired. At least he was Mr. Enthusiastic on the sidelines. Shafer was a joke. But now we've got Greg Robinson. Our defense will return to being compatent next season.
You can't blame the rest of the coaches for anything. Not the assistants, and certainly not Richrod.

They are funny.

wow give rich rod a chance, everybody's panicking when if you knew anything about college football, you knew this was going to be a rough year for michigan. losing the players they did was going to hurt. even if they werent running the spread it would have been a rough year. but running the spread with threet and having a team of mostly freshman and sophmores is going to be hard. give rich rod two more years. we have two qb recruits for next year. be patient he will bring us back.

Go Blue!

Amaizenblue86 3 years ago
"It's never happened before, and it won't happen anytime soon."
Michigan is not gonig to fire dickrod after one season. I know that. He'll be around for next season unless he resigns. But after enxt season, when Michigan goes 5-7, he's gone, and so is Bill Martin
"Tell me this, what is Michigan going to do after firing Rodrigeuz. Hmm?"
Hire a head coach from the chemebechler tree. That's what. Cam Cameron pr Brady Hoke would be ideal
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Dude, all Michigan fans hate to see Michigan lose, but it's a part of life. There's no way you can say there is enough talent on this team right now to compete in the Big 10. Either way, hiring a new coach would be stupid. He would have to recruit a whole team instead of RR's players. On the other hand, RR can already do that and improve Michigan greatly. How about this: I'll admit that I was wrong if Michigan does not show a decent amount of improvement next season. Now c'mon let's beat OSU.
Amaizenblue86 3 years ago
"There's no way you can say there is enough talent on this team right now to compete in the Big 10."
Stop listening to jessa palmer and the douchebags on BSPN and face reality: Michigan is laoded with talent on both sides of the ball, especially on defense. Thats what happens when you bring in 66 four or five star recruits over a 5 year span. The problem is, dickrod and his staff have failed miserably to utilzie it. Hence, the 3-9 record
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"He would have to recruit a whole team instead of RR's players. On the other hand, RR can already do that and improve Michigan greatly"
WTF? What kind of ttisted logic is that? Apaprently you haven't realized that Michigan is 3-9, recruits are decommiting left and right, key players are quitting/transfering left and right, and dickrod has admitted more attrition is yet to come!!
If we fire dickrod and hire an inhouse coach, we can go abck to being winners again.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Dude, even with Lloyd Carr this season, we would've went 6-6 at best. We lost EVERYONE on offense. Bill Martin is not that stupid, we will make the spread work at Michigan. Fans need to settle down and be patient. I'm doing my best to man, trust me.
Amaizenblue86 3 years ago
"We lost EVERYONE on offense."
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"we would've went 6-6 at best"
Yeah right. if we ahve Carr or any inhouse coach, we go no worse then 8-4. we wpuld ahve beaten Utah, Notre Dame, Toeldo, Michigan State, Northwestern, and possibly Penn State if Carr was around. You are delusional if you think we didn't ahve talent or experience this season, cause the self evident fact is that we did. Its dickrods fault that he didn't put our talent and experience to good use (aka, victories)
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Dude! Look at our offense! Look at it! No one on the offense! Carr would have went 6-6 at best! We had no receivers, no QB, and no TB (besides Mcguffie, who was forced to start). Our defense was great, they just got too tired at the end of games because... of the offense that was unexperienced.
Amaizenblue86 3 years ago
"We had no receivers, no QB, and no TB (besides Mcguffie, who was forced to start)"
That is a LIE. We had two fine QB's in Steven threet in Justin Feagin, a boatload of excleent tailbacks in Carlos brown, Brandon Minor, and McGuffie (Grady is also a proven success as a substitute, and he's experienced). At receiver, we ahd two experienced, talented player sin greg mathews and Junior Hemnigway. And we had a fantastic TE in Carson Butler. THE TALENT WAS THERE!!!
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"they just got too tired at the end of games because... of the offense that was unexperienced."
The defense was shit because shafer cou;dn't coach at all. but don't miss the point: you said we don't ahve talent, and thats where you are dead wrong. we had ton sof talent and experience on offense, and even more talent and experience on defense. we had NO EXCUSE for winning less then 8 games this season, but instead we finished 3-9. THAT IS THE COACHES FAULT!!!
Poole1Dan 3 years ago 2
are you retarded? EXPERIENCE ON OFFENSE? AHAHA
u realize more than half of the starters on offense are freshman right? and steven threet a good qb? are you serious? he cant pass for shit, hes slow, and he sells fakes horribly.
the spread offense needs different players and when you just switch, u need a couple of years to get recruits that are faster. but i do agree that shafer sucks that defense was awesome last year

"we will make the spread work at Michigan"
against the competition Michigan faces? not a fucknig chance.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago

Optimism? LOL. How many games do you think we will win enxt season cherriopisser? 2? ROFL. i say we beat both MAC teams we play, Purdue and indiana at home, and EITHER wisky or Michigan state on the road (but not both). We lose to everybody else.

Michigan played 2 of the 3 worst MAC teams this year and split. I would make no assumptions.
cheeriopisser2 3 years ago
"Michigan played 2 of the 3 worst MAC teams this year and split. I would make no assumptions"
Well, i'm one of the biggest Dickrod haters out of any Michiigan fans, and even I say that we should be "improved" next season (meaning we will win more then 3 games). Notre dame, for example, was better by default this season. So we'll be "better" next season in the literal sense of the word, but we won't improve enough for dickrod to keep his job. Ditto Billy martin
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Of course against the competition Michigan faces! Look at what the spread offenses did to teams like OSU, Wisconsin, and MSU. RR will recruit the right players and defense to make the spread work. The Big 10 isn't a strong conference, RR will make the spread work against Big 10 teams.
Amaizenblue86 3 years ago
"Look at what the spread offenses did to teams like OSU, Wisconsin, and MSU. RR will recruit the right players and defense to make the spread work."
Thats not the spread option you're talknig about. The the teams that ripped apart all the teams you talked about didn;t run the spread option (Illinois is the lone exception, and 2007 was obviously a one game fluke)
I told you: The wildcats and Illini prove that the spread option doesn't work against Big Ten teams
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"The Big 10 isn't a strong conference"
You're right. Its not. But think of it like this: the Big ten is an 8-8 NFL team, while the Big East is a 1-15 team. Now the 8-8 team (Big ten) is not "good" in and of itself, but its a helluva lot better then the 1-15 team (Big East).
So i'll say it again: dickrods spread option may ahve worked in the Big East, but it won't woek in the Big Ten. The prrof is in the pudding (NW and Illinois)
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Bad news doesn't get better with time smart one. Dickrod can't improve Michigan when he has created a perfect storm. He's not coaching at a mid major Big Least school anymore. he's coachnig at the NO.1 program of all time. He can't even handle the media properly, hence the "get a life" comment 9among other things). Dickrod is a total idiot and a total loser piece of shit. He' lucky he doesn't live in my neightborhood, cause I'd loot his goddamn house
Go Blue
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"Dickrod can't improve Michigan when he has created a perfect storm"
What are you talking about?? Michigan wasn't expected to make any noise with a pro style offense this year anyways. RR is implementing a whole new system.
Amaizenblue86 3 years ago
"Michigan wasn't expected to make any noise with a pro style offense this year anyways"
I don't care whether we ran the prostyle or the Capital one Bowl offense. Either way, we would ahve gone 8-4 instead of 3-9. How do i know this? Cause in those types of offense, our tremendous talent would ahve been utilzied and exploited, and the results would ahve been quite pleasant. but NOOOOO, dickrod has to jam the spread option down our throats.
FUCK DICKROD!!!!!
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
What else is supposed to do? Not preach what he believes in? Look, the players are beginning to understand his ideas and beliefs. If RR had run a pro-style offense this year, it would be even harder to implement his spread in the future. There is no way we could have gone 8-4, no way in hell. Our offense was completely gone. I agree, we had a great defense, but the offense couldn't sustain drives long enough for the defense to rest. It would have been the same without RR.
Amaizenblue86 3 years ago
"If RR had run a pro-style offense this year, it would be even harder to implement his spread in the future"
Again, i do not think dickrod should ahve run a prostyle offense. he should ahve run a version of the spread offense that fits the players skills. The capital one Bowl offense is exactly that: a version of the spread that fits our players skills. if we run that offense, we go 8-4 bar minumum. i guarantee it.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"RR is implementing a whole new system."
Poole1Dan 3 years ago

Poole1Dan 3 years ago
So poole1dan, you are suggesting that we keep running the offense we've been running for 40+ years and going mediocre 9-4 and 10-3 every year, instead have 2 bad seasons at the most, then in a few years become a national powerhouse? And "running the version of the spread that fits our players" CMON. These guys don't know anything about the spread at all! Thats why they haven't performed as well and why Rich is working so hard to teach them! These are mostly Lloyd's recruits for old I formation!
Tigersfan829 2 years ago
" you are suggesting that we keep running the offense we've been running for 40+ years"
You're putting words in my mouth. I never have nor ever will say that we should keep on running the offense that we ran under Carr and moeller and Schembechler. I think we should run the spread offense. However, I also think we should run a version of the spread offense that fits our offensive personell. I'm a prudent person, you know.
Poole1Dan 2 years ago
"These guys don't know anything about the spread at all!"
fucknig bullshit. did you even watch the Capital One bowl? We scored 41 points and put up 534 yards with PROSTYLE PLAYERS and beefy, immobile offensive linemen. Do not tell me these guys know nothnig about the spread. The spread is a flexible offense. any group of players can run a given version of it.
Poole1Dan 2 years ago
Well ya I would hope they would finally figure out the damn spread after getting trounced twice already that season with it. (App St. and Oregon)
But all of the guys from that team are gone now, and these new guys do not know the spread. At all! He is teaching them what he knows, and in a few years, they will know it down pat. Just be a little patient...
Tigersfan829 2 years ago
"But all of the guys from that team are gone now"
Like I said, I wouldn't expect us to score 41 points and put up 534 yards of offense every game what with Henne, Hart, Long, Manningham, and Arrington all departing. I'm just saying that players recruited for a prostyle offense can run the spread offense of the version of the spread you are running fits your players skillset (which the capital one bowl offense does for prostyle players).
Poole1Dan 2 years ago
"and these new guys do not know the spread"
thats an ambigious statement on your part.
Poole1Dan 2 years ago
I guarantee you our offense is at elast respectable if we run the capital one bowl offense. Our players can run that offense. But noooooo. dickrod has to jam the spread option down oour throats, and look at the results: only 7 d-1 teams finished worse in total offense. The great coaches (Tressell, Carroll, meyer, Stoops, Mack Brown) adjust to ther team. dickrod did not. He should ahve been fired right after last season. We're stuck with him for at least one more season
Poole1Dan 2 years ago
" they will know it down pat. Just be a little patient"
kentucky was not patient with Billy Gillespie, and I and every other anti-dickrod fan will not be patient with Rodriguez. Patience is a foreign concept at programs like Michigan.
Poole1Dan 2 years ago
"Thats why they haven't performed as well and why Rich is working so hard to teach them!"
more bullshit. Dickrod is forcing the spread option down their throats. he's jamming square pegs into roundholes, so to speak. thats a recipe for disaster. if he had run something like the Capital One bowl offense, rest assured our offense is exponentially better then what it was. I'm not saying we would ahve been as potent as we were in the capital one bowl, but we would ahve been at elast respectable.
Poole1Dan 2 years ago
"Teams who work the spread to perfection are dangerous"
You don't understand somethnig thats very key: the spread option offense that dickrod runs is just one of the many versions of the spread offense. The spread as a whole is the ebst offense in football, but there's a bad apple in every barrell, and dickrods spread option is a rotten apple in an othewise leicious abrrell of apples. Do you understand what i'm saying?
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"all Michigan fans hate to see Michigan lose, but it's a part of life"
fine. be a jackas and accept a 3-9 record like it means nothing. But like is aid: when dickrod is fired cause Michigan bombs out under him, you ahve nobody to blame but yourself for supporting his sorry ass
Its gonig to be one lnog offseason for dickrod and his cultist supporters. Get ready tp hear shit from real michigan fans like me for 9 long months
Go Blue
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"fine. be a jackas and accept a 3-9 record like it means nothing."
No duh you've got to accept it, what are you going to do? Go back in time and not hire RR? RR's track record shows he CAN win. This will be a long offseason. We will improve.
Amaizenblue86 3 years ago
"RR's track record shows he CAN win."
yeah, he's proven he can win when the competition is shitty. So don't tell me about his track record. it doesn't mean jack shit. "He wins whereever he goes." DOESN'T MATTER!!! This is Michigan, not a mid fucknig major like West Virginia or D-3 Glennville state!!!!!
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"No duh you've got to accept it"
you're missing my point kid: you and prodickrod fans like you don't give 2 shits that we finished 3-9.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
" We will improve"
i told you: bad news doesn't get better with time.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"How about this: I'll admit that I was wrong if Michigan does not show a decent amount of improvement next season"
You got it.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"We'll be without a decent coach and with a inexperienced team"
No and no. We'll ahve a much better ehad coach then that didiot, Rodriguez. And inexperienced? When has Michigan ever been inexperienced? Answer: never. Its Michigan you fucktard. We don't rebuild. We reload. Your daddy is an alumni, so you should know that.
"Go whine at your website you dipshit"
That ain't my website you dumb bitch. It was created by fans just like me who want Michigan to be WINNERS
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"We are not going to win every game"
Nobody is suggesting that Michigan should win every game. That is impossible. But 3-8? Thats unacceptable. Dickrod was hired to win football games, and he's not winnnig hardly any, so he needs to be FIRED
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"Such a huge baby"
Thats exactly why dumb cunts like you shouldn't root for the Wolverines. True fans like me expect excellence, and you call us babies. You motherfuckers have no standards for excellence, and thats sickening. You'd be better jumping off a cliff or moving to somalia then disgracing yourself by rooting for the number one college football program of all time

jeppy3456 3 years ago
I don't think he was saying Threet is bad (although he might have been. I can't speak for him). But like, I don't think Threet has been bad at all. Threet has been solid given the circumstances. But Feagin should be used as a change of apce substitute, you know?

also, bewtween the 8 players I mentioned, they ahve a combined 40 games experience.
Our star players on offense DO ahve experience.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Typical scUM fan that can't count. 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2006. That is FOUR years, not five. Maybe I'll pay for for my pizza to get you off my porch sometime soon.

Killwich 3 years ago
1. there's a huge difference between Michigan nasketball and Michigan football
2. Unlike Beliein, RR is inheting a ton of experienced, and ultra talented players
3. The Big ten is pretty damn good in basketball, but it is mediocre in football
Don't even try to compare Beliens arrival to RR's
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
rich is not inhereting a ton of experienced players this is prolly the most inexperienced team in a long ass time! and im pretty sure michigan is a better football confrence maybe not right now but of all time yeah MICHIGAN OHIO STATE PENN STATE! those three teams of all time whoop anyones asses GO BLUE
bracketbuster32 3 years ago
"2. Unlike Beliein, RR is inheting a ton of experienced, and ultra talented players"
Didn't scUM just lose henne, hart, manningham and long? Now I agree that the defense returns some experienced and talented players, but the offense is almost all raw players.
Cavaliersin07 3 years ago
I've been through this with you before. On offense, Carlos Brown, Brandon Minor, Greg mathews, Junior Hemingway, Carson Butler, Stephen Shilling, Tim McAvoy, and Mark orttman all have experience. Mathews, Butler, and Schilling are returning starters.
And plus, this is Michigan football, which is lightyears better then Michigan basketball
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Michigan football is not lilghtyears ahead of anything this season. You need to understand that the entire offense is learning a new system, and there has to be a period of time that it will take them to adjust. I can't see any offense just adjust with no problem to a completely new offense from one year to the next. You mention that they all have experience, but how much - maybe 5 games combined?
Cavaliersin07 3 years ago
It'll take probably 6 games for the offense to gel. Keep in mind, Michigan ahs the best athletes around because Lloyd carr consitently bought in great recruiting classes. It doesn't take an entire year for great athletes to adjust to a new offense. They adjust relatively quickly. the offense will go through some growing pains in the first 6 games, but after that, it will be just fine. And besides, our defense willg et us through the first 6 games

Poole1Dan 3 years ago
It's a re-building year. Don't expect much. Then you won't be disappointed, and if UM wins 7 games, you'll be pleasantly surprised. This year will be VERY interesting in the Big10. I wonder which team will surprise everyone. Wisconsin's supposed to be pretty good, but MSU could also shock some people. They were pretty good last year and were beating OSU into the second half last year until we closed the lid on them. GO BUCKS! Going for 3 straight Big Ten Championships and 5 in a row over UM.
72seeker72 3 years ago
Yeah, I'll be surprised if U-M only wins 7games alright. That would be a huge underachievement
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
doubt they will michigan will snap there hopes and win it all baby!
bracketbuster32 3 years ago
"and u have no true leader on that team. It's time for MSU to make a comeback"
We don't have a leader like Long, but we have plenty of seniors on our defense who will collectively be excellent leaders (like Terrance Taylor and Morgan Trent)
Also, what the hell does MSU ahve in 2008 other then javon Ringer? You lost all your good players on defense, you still ahve those two god-awful cornerbacks (Henderson and Davis clark), your QB sucks, you have and you ahve no receivers except for Dell
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
RG=Cory Zirbel, redshirt junior (just like moosman, he's a former 4 star prospect wh finally has a chance to shine)
RT=Mark Orttman, redshirt junior (he say some nice playing time last year when schilling was banged up)
"most of your defense is gone"
Wrong yet again. We return 7 of 11 starters from aunit that ranked 24th in the nation in total defense. Our defense might be the best in the Big ten next season
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"their O-line is basically all freshman"
Wrong again. here's the projected starters at O-line for Michigan:
LT=Stephen Schilling, redshirt sophomore(returning starter at RT who's moving over to LT to replace Jake long. he's a former 5 star prospect)
LG=Tim McAvoy, redshirt junior (saw some decent playing time last year when Alex Mitchell was injured)
C=David Moosman, redshirt junior(former 4 star prospect who finally has a chance to shine)

Yeah right. I loved the way he said "Amen" when the fans chanted "beat the Buckeyes." That was a "you'll be proud off our players" moment for the Michigan Wolverines
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"Unlike UM's recruits, our guys get better."
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
What do you mean, "cuz Lloyd was our coach". I'm a State fan and think you're full of shit on that comment. Lloyd was a great coach and Dick Rod is breakin your tradition b4 the start of the season. Dont get over your head on this Walmart fan.
CrzyAzn5103 3 years ago
"What do you mean, 'cuz Lloyd was our coach'"
I mean that lloyd Carr has done a horrible job at developing players at Michigan. he gets all these great recruting classes every year, and very few of those players actually live up to their potential. Rich Rodriguez, on the other hand, has a mde a powerhouse at WVU out of 2 and 3 star recruits (Pat White, steve Slaton, Pacman Jones, and Chris henry were all 2 and 3 star prospects coming out of highschool)
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
No he hasnt, he's developed great players such as Mike Hart a 3 star, he turned Jake Long into a 1st rounder and he was only 4star and what about Leon Hall, Tom Brady, and Chris Perry. They made it well. Lets also look at this, the players you named, Pacman and Chris Henry. Whats happened with them now? Pacman was suspended for a year and Chris Henry is indefinitely. Lloyd can at least bring good character out of SOME of his players. Then again...Muck Fichigan, Go Green! =)
CrzyAzn5103 3 years ago
Like I said, VERY FEW of Carrs recruits have lvied up to their potential. Hart actually exceeded his potential. I guess Long did as well (although he sucked against Ohio State and in bowl games) . But aside from Hart, Long, and Charles Woodson, has any Wolverine actually exceeded their potential under Carr? No. On the other hand, coaches like Jim Tressell and Rich Rodriguez are constanly making superstars out of nobody's (like Troy Smith and Pat White)
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Also, Leon Hall, Tom Brady, and Chris Perry weren't noboy's who Carr turned into superstars. They were 4 star recruits comnig out of highschool, and they were three of the few Wolverines who actually lived up to thei potential. How come 5 star studs like prescott burgess, gabe Watson, Tim Massaquoi, Chad Henne, and pat massey weren't top 10 draft picks?
Most of carrs players have failed to live up to their tremendous potential. Carr ahs faield to develope his players
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Get used to us winning the next few years in football like in b ball, cuz we got some good recruits coming in with good players and a really good Coach. Go Green!
CrzyAzn5103 3 years ago
"Get used to us winning the next few years in football like in b ball, cuz we got some good recruits coming in with good players and a really good Coach. Go Green!"
Really good recruits? Whens the last time your recruting class was even in the top 20 much less the top 10? And you DO realize that we've won 6 straight, 7 of the last 8, 10 of the last 12, and 8 straight at the Big House against you guys? Please, Michigan OWNS Michigan State, and that will continue under RR.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Doesnt matter what you've done in the past. Thats cuz you had a good coach who u keep calling garbage (even though u probably rooted for him most of the time) and Michigan isnt predicted to even make a bowl game next year. At least State was in 1 mock25. Michigan has no real QB for the spread, no real RB for the spread either, their O-line is basically all freshman, most of your defense is gone, and u have no true leader on that team. It's time for MSU to make a comeback
CrzyAzn5103 3 years ago
"Thats cuz you had a good coach who u keep calling garbage (even though u probably rooted for him most of the time)"
I was a Carr supporter up until 9/01/07, and i'm sure you know what that date is. Carr was indeed a good coach. Actually, he was a really good coach. But this is michigan. We expect and demand greatness. We are the Number 1 college football program of all time, and Carr wasn't delivering satisfactory results. He had to go. Bring on RR!
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"and Michigan isnt predicted to even make a bowl game next year"
Yeah, and the people making those predictions don't know shit about the Wolverines. Why don't you get a predicition from someone who actually specializes in Michigan football? Like Michael Spaeth of rivals. He has the Wolverines going 10-2, with losses to penn state and ohio state, and he has them finishing in the top 15.
Those idiots at ESPN don't know shit. Mark may once said Vanderbil "outplayed" us. They are shitheads
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"Michigan has no real QB for the spread"
Yes they do. Justin Feagin can run the triple option and zone read stuff, and Steven Threet-the starter-has the potential to be the next Shaun king, a pcoketpasser under RR who led Tulane to a 12-0 record in 1998. Also, both Threet and Feagin are better then fucking Brian Hoyer.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"no real RB for the spread either"
Wrong. Carlos Brown and Sam McGuffie are perfect for RR's spread offense, and we can also have to speedy powerbacks in Brandon Minor and Kevin Grady. We won't miss Mike Hart at all in 1008.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
On the other hand, RR has done a tremendous job in developing his players. Pacman and Henry are ahving legal issues in the NFL, but the fact is, they were nobody's coming out of highschool, and RR turned them into superstars. RR developes his players, period, and thats what he will do at Michigan
Also, considering you are a Fartans fan, you should get used to mcihigan owning your asses for another decade. Go Blue!
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Lol, i luv arguing with MIchigan fans, Lloyd brings good character out of his players and did make Chris Perry a Doak winner(pretty hard) and Tom Brady i guess... was able to develop in the pros. Gabe Watson is a starter in the NFL and Henne could even be starting for Miami. And you shouldnt get too cocky about Michigan football. The Spartans are ready to take you on with whatever advantage we can get, even if it's a team full of players not used to the spread
CrzyAzn5103 3 years ago
"Lloyd brings good character out of his players and did make Chris Perry a Doak winner(pretty hard)"
So does RR. Pacman and Henry are the only premadonas RR had at WVU, and even then, they never gave RR much trouble at WVU. Also, Perry was a frickin 5 star prospect. He was SUPPOSED to be a Doak Walker and Heimsen finalist
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"and Tom Brady i guess"
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
"Henne could even be starting for Miami."
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
oh, and i thought RR would be a good fit for Michigan football.
CrzyAzn5103 3 years ago
"and that several lineman have dropped from the team due to family issues like Borin and Mitchell"
Boren and Mitchell were grade A pussies. I don't know what tea Carr was serving them, but RR is weading out the pussies from Carrs regime. RR wants tough, hard nosed football players on the Wolverines, and so do I. Boren and Miitchell can fuck themselves. I lvoe the physical and mental toughness RR is inserting at Michigan. Its going to pay huge dividends.
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
I'm going to ask this question again, as there are alot of Wolverines haters on this board: WHO IS MICHIGAN GOING TO LOSE TO IN 2008 THAT WOULD DROP THEIR RECORD TO 6-6 OR 7-5?!
Poole1Dan 3 years ago
Well, I wish Coach Rod the
