  • amazing voice!

  • I like pretty much here you're smiling - in the beginning.... Because usually you're too serious...,,

  • More original rivers, moonlight, days,...please. Obviously the originals are your passion.

  • wow - a little JM style in there, just beautiful... you're great.

  • Lovely, lovely song. I can tell you really put some care and emotion into it. Great work. I hope you get big.

  • Visiting your video song again. Sounds as great as the day I first heard it. ;)

  • You have a stalker... that's so unsurprising.

  • your voice is so nice :)

  • You are wonderful. Love the original :-)

  • What's the name of the original song? I searched for it but I could'nt find it.

By the way, I LOVE your voice, you're just AMAZING! You must go to American idol or a similar TV show.

  • I added a double chorus ending and am working on a guitar solo for this song.

Do I hear your sister singing harmony? Lovely voices run in the family I hear. :)

  • Hi @existentialistcat,

Came across your videos while looking for INTP vids (also happens to be my type--I don't seem to find many of "us" in real life though) and ended up watching your music vids which are absolutely lovely. Keep up the great work!!!

  • Of course, what you share with us is much more than beauty, intelligence, talent, and skills. What is conveyed, and what may be even more significant, is the intangible and ineffable qualities of your personhood; your heart, your spirit, your vulnerability, your effort, your search, and your triumphs. Perhaps it is these spiritual qualities we see beyond and through your expressivity that impresses us the most and has the most profound influence on our souls. May you reap the benefit as well!

  • This song and video is amazing! I love the voice and harmonies. I am envious. It's not easy to create something like that and make it sound so good. I guess you are spending a lot of time with your Pro Tools SE? And you are using your webcam (instead of HD cam) in order to keep your audio synced with the video? If you keep this up, you will be selling your songs on iTunes, etc. Your skills have improved so much. Thanks for sharing your beauty, intelligence, and talent with us!

  • That gave me chills! You are a wonderful person, thank you for sharing.

  • This is brilliant.

  • so have you joined sound cloud yet, kim

  • I love the melancholy feel. You kind of remind me of the Cocteau Twins! Nice musical touches.

  • The main problem that I found with a conflict of ideas is getting the other to listen and wantint to listen to them. It's just frustration when everyone speaks and no one listens. Or not listen to the whole. That is one reason I like YouTube, you get to say your stuff uninterupted, but still ppl comment without even watching the whole video. A mind has to be willing and ready to receive things contrary to what it insists is it's version of reality. Nice work btw.

  • You're the cat's meow.

  • You've done it again! Your voice, plus the music creates a kind of ethereal experience. I think I would tend to do something serious with a talent like that.

Also, it's kind of funny with some of the comments. Some want you smile more, some not at all. I say, advice is worth every penny you pay for it! lol

  • good stuff!

  • Very nice! I'm so glad I subscribe : )

  • amazing

  • your voice is very nice in this song

  • The only element of the song that might not fit is the drawbar organ. Harmonies are very rich. I think you would do well with instrumental pieces for a film score.

  • I wouldn't blink an eye to find this song on Sarah McLachlan's first album, Vox.

  • that was like.. on a whole different level . even if it's not so much my cup of tea in terms of music style i can still tell it's a great piece! well done.

  • Any chance we can get lyrics? :P You are so amazing! It will be great to say we knew you when you were just a youtube musician when you go big. Seriously, this song is absolutely amazing. Thanks for making my day a little better. :D

  • (I think you also do well with high pitches)

I really enjoy your original works.

    ; )

  • Got a nice Kate Bush vibe from that. Great song and wonderful vocals. My one complaint would be the drums, I don't think they quite fit. I'd go for something deeper with a little more bass.

  • Love the ending! Great effect with the bass tone.

  • Those ears make you look cute! :)

  • Meow!

  • btw. what DAW / sequencer are you using?

  • haahhaha, love the pseudo-ears! xD

your voice is awesome as well (as in all the videos i ve seen so far) ;)

  • I work nights and its so nice to have a new song for me to listen to in the morning. Geat job and keep them coming.

  • @ObtuseSage :) well, thank you for listening!

  • God damn, that was impressive. You have quite a vocal range, don't you?

  • Excellent. You master those high notes. Kind of ethereal.

  • M'row

  • phantom of the opera cover next? :O

  • @ThoughtScientist , that's exactly what comes to my mind too.

  • Great song! and happy halloween!

  • are you still censoring comments? censorship is lame

  • @Steve2323ZX Believe me, I wish I didn't have to. My stalker spams certain videos like crazy so I have to do it on approval for those.

  • @existentialistcat "My stalker"? Try not to view 'it' as a pet, otherwise 'it' will keep coming back expecting to be patted.

    nice work with the song!

    :-)

  • @existentialistcat You have a stalker? Woah that's creepy

  • Comment removed

  • @AmauryPenseur Let me guess, you think women who wear short skirts alone at night deserve to be assaulted. I am wearing part of my Halloween costume on Halloween, and nothing is that provocative. You seem to be the only creep around here.

  • @existentialistcat Every girl deserves to be assaulted.

Girls who wear short skirts actually increase their chance to be assaulted (especially at night :p), but deserving is something totally different. Deservingness is made by a group of people, most groups in the world and the general thought about this in Western society is that a girl never deserves to get assaulted, no matter what.

  • Comment removed

  • @AmauryPenseur I do not judge myself by my attractiveness, accolades, or even intelligence. Those are common. I care about my integrity and honesty. I don't think you have a good grasp of what it means to be intelligent, because it is about openness, not "winning." Btw, they are spelled "narcissistic" and "unintentional." Good thing we're not competing for best grammar.

  • Comment removed

  • @existentialistcat Second part: I did not say that intelligence is about winning. I wonder why you connected it with each other?

  • @existentialistcat "I do not judge myself by my...intelligence." "I care about my integrity and honesty" "I don't think you have a good grasp on what it means to be intelligent, because it is about openness" If you aren't judging yourself by your intelligence and you say intelligence is about openness, wouldn't that mean you are not judging yourself by your capacity to be open? I sincerely intend no hostility with these questions. No endorsement of the previous commenter.

  • @EpistemicDuty It is a bit of word play, isn't it? If she has not done it, she would have to define these words. For instance, intelligence could mean 'cleverness,' which is so often distinguished from other mind qualities. Good question though. I immensely enjoy comments of that sort.

  • @poetaanonymous A dishonest person isn't open-minded, so if a person isn't judging themselves by openness that would mean it would be irrelevant as to how closed they are which conflicts I think with valuing honesty. They aren't willing to question what they hold. I hope my question didn't come off as accusatory. Also a conflict of ideas can entail growth which means that it is required to try to "win" to promote questioning in another to determine if one is paying lip service to openness.

  • @EpistemicDuty Unfortunately sometimes a negative reaction to promoting a conflict of ideas could result in one being frustrated with the other person where it can become more personal at times and the original goal is lost site of. This happens all the time on the internet.

  • @EpistemicDuty Absolutely. I used to go on the philosophy forums (myspace) and it became so regular that I considered that I had 'won,' when my opponent broke into a rash of vindictive profanity. I wonder whether any honest person can refute the thrill of victory. A few saints, perhaps? Also, I think there was neither in your tone nor content anything accusatory.

  • @poetaanonymous I think that it is extremely important for everyone to acknowledge they have a tendency to succumb to the thrill of victory. And everyone can get uncomfortable when new data challenges them.

  • @existentialistcat If I understand you correctly, then you are mainly concerned for the expansion of your conscious awareness. I wish I could find the comment on 'winning.' Has it been deleted?

  • I really thought that this was a --- oh look, a singing cat!

Like I was saying, this was a great performance! Nice singing and lyrics!

    Happy Halloween! :-)

  • Wow you look adorable in costume.

  • It would go along nice with a video montage of you outdoors in nature, etc. I used two browser windows, played your song along with this video's sound off

    watch?v=Y0YoE7bPKhI

so they were in sync... it really seemed to match LOL

  • and can we get the lyrics?

  • holy crap the start was really really really amazing

  • Vocally luxurious.

    wow!

  • I like how your nostrils open when you hit those high notes.

  • I think this is my favorite song so far.

  • I always prefer original songs instead of covers, and now that your musical production has such good quality, why don´t you redo some of your old songs with your new equipment? And if it is not asking too much, could you put your videos in HD?

  • @Tialkannos It's better in 480p for sure, but I can start uploading in HD... I have been thinking of redoing "Skinny Love" in a little while.

  • @existentialistcat I'd kill to hear a redo of "Something Different"! That's still my favorite of yours.

  • This song is just lovely! Great job! :)

  • Very good, but if you're going to make it you need to smile all the time and do a bit of a dance routine. You could go far, kid.

  • This is beautiful! I agree with others that it's your best song so far. Your voice here reminds me of Enya.

  • Very good but I had to listen twice because all I could here the first time round was rude words. How does "pretend" sound like "dick"...?

  • Your best yet.

  • If you ever changed your mind and realized you weren't an existentialist anymore, would you have to abandon the channel, or have persistent caveats, like, "I am no longer an existentialist, but seeing as this channel already has momentum I will still be maintaining it. Sorry for any confusion."?

Sorry, I sometimes get distracted with hypothetical contingency planning. Nice song, and great voice, as usual. :)

  • @TheMarkTenification Hahah, it's such a loose term anyway, it doesn't bother me much. :)

  • @existentialistcat The most important thing is that you'd still be a cat right? =) You have the cutest ears. ;)

  • @TheMarkTenification Anyway one can clearly see from those ears that she is still "cat" :-)

  • Wow! Kimberly! This song is incredible!!

  • @joelavallee Thank you. :D

  • aww that was a sad song..but the ears were cute!! :D

  • @thesunreport Haha, thanks! They were part of my Halloween costume.
