a crumb coat is a very light coating of icing that seals in the crumbs. after you have put the light coat of icing, the cake needs to be chilled for about 45 minutes. :) it's the base coat basically.

it's just a thin layer that you apply to frosting to reduce the number of crumbs when doing for final coat of frosting. it's recommeded to put the crumb coated cake into the freezer for about 30 to 60 minutes before doing your last coat.

Yes, even though there is so much frosting, they are really fun and easy to bake, and they dont taste like they have too much frosting or anything!! The frosting in the middle of a cake when you use Betty Crocker frosting, stays moist and creamy, it doesnt go hard to dry out or anything. I personally cant stand cakes that aree...well, CAKED with frosting, but i love these cakes! The ammout of frosting is fine, trust me. x

Yes, VERY!! The frosting is really nice, with loads on the cake. Because its very thick and it go's a little hard on the top after a day or 2 but the middle stays nice an creaming :) they are fine with that amount, trust me!
