  • I now get why the seat details are red, a BAF C130 I presume flying out of Beauvecheain Airbase. Great videos. Some interesting details of the NATO revetments. I presume there are fighters there as it has twin runways?

  • Hi! I have a question. How i become a c-130 pilot? Thanks.

  • @schaffy so!! i see.. lol :D thanks i got it now.. XD

  • wait wait.. why i can only see 2 throttles? i thought it has 4?

    1 for each of them?

  • @chimoy1, stop the clip at 0:25 and take a good look= 4 throttles

  • Great video..Have always been sat in the back when they take off..not i know what it looks like from the sharp end.

thanks for taking time to to post it.

  • Awesome video Schaffy, ....thnx very much.

  • I have couple of question I want to ask you:

a- Does the C-130 has an Autopilot?

b- Are you a pilot (of this plane)?

  • a-Yes, they sure have

b-No, I was having a ride in the cockpit, the hard working guy, the flight engineer is my buddy, years before we worked together on the F-16.

  • this video was quite a while ago.

The c130 has a glass cockpit today.

  • the J-models do, but most of the air forces round the world are makin do with the old E and H models.

  • Yes but 130h of the belgian air force has a glass cockpit it was updated.

  • H3 with a MACAWS panel?

  • Wow...there's even an apn-56F radar scope on their plane. And they even follow some of the same guidelines for range marking indicators one there.

  • Wow, I think the guy sitting in the middle was working harder than the pilot and co-pilot....LOL

  • He was..... That's the Flight Engineer.

  • HERK: Hero of the skies.

  • Wow, I remember some good old times as a kid in that plane. My dad was in the Belgian Air Force and we lived in Washington DC for 13 years. So I used to fly back and forth from Andrews to Brussels on the C-130. Was awesome. And get to stop over in Goosebay too. Miss all that.

  • Long live the mighty Hercules. ..they don't call it "Hercules" for nothing yanno. Gunship, firefighter, hurricaine hunter, ABCCC, you name it...even landed it on a carrier! Let's see the A400 top that..and you can't use "mighty" in the same sentence as "Airbus". See Airbus A380 for details...

  • my grandpa flew the c130 for 18 years. he was the captian of the c130 and he was at langley air force base in hamton va.

  • Hi, your grandpa was flying a great airplane. In 1978 I spend 3 months at Langley AFB for training on the F-100 engine, they had F-15's but the engine was the same as on the F-16, then I moved to Edwards AFB for the rest of the training on F-16 for about two months. On 08-11-78 we flew back to Belgium on a Belgian C-130 from Andrews AFB to Brussels, 11:05 hrs flying in that work horse of the Air Force.

  • Its bad that you`ll soon have to say good bye, and watch the gradual replacement of them, with the A400M. The A400M cockpit is way more Pilot friendly.

  • You can say good bye to that plane. And welcome with open arms the A400M. Its way better. Who needs the american crap, when we can make our own in europe. Out with the old and in with the new.

  • American crap? The C-130 is the best transport plane of its time like the Dakota C-47 before it... a real workhorse and a safe airplane and it probably will still be flying in the Belgian Air Force till 2018.

  • @comprellion Wow you really think your piece of shit is going to be better than the mighty herc. Go get a life you european fag

  • @BBFjetboat u dont mean all europeans is fags or do u :D

  • @comprellion why are almost all of europe using C130 and not A400M

  • @comprellion

You're right. The Europeans are really making crap. The first one has still to be delivered to the customers.

We are happy to still have this American workhorse. C-130's are great planes, and i don't think an A-400 can ever achieve the same goals.

  • Is it bad that I know what each switch is and what it does?

  • do you know a pilote : "papy collard" it's my cousin ??

  • that's a belgian c130 ^^ and i'm belgian.Idid my flight baptem in this plane.

  • Great video! I was a loadmaster on these for 12 years and this video brings back some great memories.
