It's unclear to me... If the United Nations bans insulting religion, and that includes publishing "insults" in books, does that mean the Bible and the Quran will be illegal, and publishing or passion will be criminal? I'm under the impression they both insult the Jews... I could be wrong.

There are many flaws in the proposition of illegalizing hateful/offensive comments toward religion, but one that I would like to mention is, what is religion? By pure technical definition, atheism is a religion, so that means that for example Christian people could no longer defame non-believers in their place of worship. In that, even the written words of the Bible ITSELF deflames non-believers in God, AND, people whom worship other Gods as well. So the Bible would in fact be an illegal work.

Islam were stopped in Battle of Poitiers year 732 in France, and in the Battle of Vienna 1683. It also took over the Zoroastrian Persia in east in 644 and so on. It's pretty clear that neither Dobbs, Pilgrim, nor Hitchens did. I think the fact that neither Dobbs nor Pilgrim realized that Pakistan is (at least in theory) a democracy pretty much disqualifies them from commenting on this altogether.

Yes, and that's what I find so ironic about all this bloviating about this being a muslim plot. The resolution would forbid religious persecution, which is already illegal in secular countries, but not in most if the muslim ones. It would effect Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia etc, much more than it would the U.S..

I wouldn't go that far, but I'd say in many ways it's an organization that perpetuates the power of the five permanent members of the Security Council. So, it could be renamed "The U.S., the U.K., Russia, China, and France and a few smaller countries that side with them."

I disagree about the lou dobbs part, in my opinion, someone who is in his position should be less opinionated, and simply ask questions of his guests. Having said that, dobbs is several orders of magnitude better than bill ORLY or sean hanity.
