Go to computer management, storage, disk manger and wait, than back click on your system hard drive and click on shrink driver. If you can , than that means your computer hard drive doesn't have enough free disk space
yep. The bèta version is the ultimate version of windows 7. I had it installed for about 5 minutes, i pressed reset, and VOILA. Your Windows 7 is wrecked.
You've got 2GB of ram and you allocated 1.62 for virtual PC and this slowed down your host computer and virtual computer, try to make a new virtual computer and allocate just 1Gb this way you'll have enough for your host OS too.
If the host OS is Vista, i don't recommended to try this without at least 3GB of ram (2 for the host OS 1 for the Virtual Machine)
Good for you. I don't think you'll use more than 3GB for something else than rendering.
Anyhow Windows 7 uses about 350MB RAM idle (without any other autorun software except an antivirus) and about 500-600MB RAM with 10 tabs of firefox and one virus scan with avast at the same time.
You can probably get it to boot in under 20 seconds if you wanted to boot it on real hardware and not VMware. But VMware is probably how I would use it once it is done downloading. If it proves faster and more stable than my current Vista on my "barely can run XP laptop" I think I'll try it on there.
Umm...how is this accurate for real life scenarios? Virtual pc's use virtual hardware, generic drivers and no 3d support. Actual boot time on a real machine with all the "fancy's" is not going to be reflected by your test...sorry if i come off rude, but this doesnt proove jack..You can make xp boot in a vm in under 20 seconds. major problem is i have an external hdd and my motherboard insists on checking it for boot files. Even so, i get 52 seconds to boot 7, with all the pretty stuff on.
@SuperMark360 It's an early buid, Build 6801, not the final product. Read the fucking title before you comment.
If you still having doubts, download the build from piratebay or something and install it.

Can 32-bit Windows XP applications work on 64-bit Windows 7?
rtype6 2 years ago
@rtype6 Some work, some not, you have to try it yourself.
eusceptic 2 years ago
When you buy retail you get both versions (32 and 64) on two disks.
eusceptic 2 years ago
I thought Windows 7 only offered 64 bit. Whenever I look at computers on Dell, HP, or Sony, that's all they have offered is the 64 bit version.

16 bits XD

I've tried suse it was nice..
but i prefer Gnome as i like to code in monodevelop
(i am a windows developer by trade so C# is my bread and butter... with mono i can port it to ubuntu which is my favorit dist :3
just a pitty about that looming cloude of patent law it has hanging over its head... i doubt microsoft would use it though..)
ZerqTM 3 years ago
Yay! another 32bit windows..
this is why i switched to ubuntu...
microsoft are gonna loose out big time if they cant get over there 64bit driver problems.
with linux i dont have to put up with never ending blue screens of death on login
ZerqTM 3 years ago
Try Open Suse with KDE4 instead, you'll won*t miss Windows 7 at all.
eusceptic 3 years ago
This is surely the old beta of Windows 7.
The new one has another bootscreen, without that loading bar. The light shines out of the microsoft logo in waves. That's how it loads.
