you're quite welcome and thank you for the comment. But by no means is my rendition completely accurate. Nonetheless I think it's one of my best videos!
You know for the longest time I thought it was Keith Richards doing the soloing there, and all the stuff from 1970 to 1974.
sometimes when u bend, the other strings sound, but i would say this is pretty close already (i cant play as gd as u anyway lol) so dun worry too much :)
err, well, not 100% certain but I'd be guessing minor pentatonic, but he hints to major tones on some notes and bends like at 1:19. But, he does however use the inverted major (I don't know if that's the right name) scale, which uses the major scale of the root note four tones down. Like when you play a solo in Aminor and can use alternatively a F# scale.
Oh yeah man don't worry... Thanks for the kind words, I suppose you're a player too. Guess I'll just visit your channel now eh?!
This was with my Traynor DG30D (digital reverb, it's very nice, I prefer it to spring reverb) snd my homemade les paul, using the neck pickup, obviously.
Just goes to show that a good sound is obtainable without spending loads of cash on "Vintage stuff". Mind you I did use Brazilian rosewood for the fretboard, and the body is birch so the guitar weighs like, 10lbs!
I have a Digitech Artist that I use mostly for my sound-it has reverb but I haven't checked it out too much yet-I am still learning how to use the pedal.
Sometimes I wish my LP was that light! Really enjoyed listening to you play!
Just happened to come across this vid. Very Very nice! One of my favorite songs from the Stones' best period (imo).! Man! you really got that sound that Mick Taylor got-its perfect!
Mind if I ask what amp and effects you're using here? I love that classic LP sound that you're getting here!
cchelton you aint no Stones fan if you turn this part off. Go listen to Twisted Sister or maybe Wasp.

The coolest thing about that solo is it was total improv

Very good. I learned a few things about the style of the solo from watching you. Very fun to play.

@mferrusca
thank you. Clean (well, some "natural" solid-state overdrive from the amp) and reverb. It was an easy tone to emulate.
And that's not a real Les Paul. That's an eleven pound slab of birch and maple with Indian Rosewood I made ten years ago.

Absolutely nuthin' wrong with this...sounds great and your tone is damn fine too. So what if there's a note off here and there....Sweet!

very nice but rmb to mute lol
diorhomme 2 years ago
Thanks, but what do you want me to mute?
As far as I can tell, there isn't any place where he mutes any notes... Mind you I can't precisely remember.

Nice. You sound like Mick Taylor. When I try to play it, I sound like Keith trying to sound like Mick Taylor!

Ha ha! thanks. But I still don't know what you mean by the retuning. I didn'T retune anything and I'm in-tune with the solo.
Unless I'm missing something...

@QuiltedPine
I think he is referring to your guitar being in Std tuning rather than open g.
