What I found odd about this scene was the kid clobbers the hell out of her in the head with a mirror yet there never was one mark on her forehead. For at least the next scene or so there should have been something to reflect the intensity of what the kid did to her.

matty was holding the mirror at the baby's face so they baby could see his own reflection. its a superstition that baby aren't suppose to look in a mirror until they're one because it means they'll die early
