Kurt. You should post your build on the sub-reddit BuildAPc and ask for their opinions. I have found that they have a very knowledgeable community concerning building a new computer. My personal opinion is that you could save a little more money on your motherboard. If you're planning on using GeForce cards, then you won't be needing a crossfire-supporting motherboard.

I'm running my PC with a GTX 560 on a current 400 W PSU. I also have an older 500 W PSU, which doesn't even boot this thing. You just need a current PSU with the right connectors (yes, they've changed over the years!)

@MayContainJoe Kurt, you should also go for more mainstream components: They're sold in higher numbers, better tested and less prone to problems. Means: No i7 (i5 instead), no "hyper memory", just the standard issue (called "value" or so), $150 mainboard, no SSD and no Bluray (Who needs BR in a PC anyway?)

No brand recommandations here, just keep away from beta-testing experimental hardware (esp. SSDs) or "high-end" stuff...

620 watts will not be enough. Your power supply will die, not just give you lower output than expected. Go for around 1000 watts, that's probably closer to the correct amount, and not very expensive.

I have the ocz agility 3 for my office laptop and the cheaper ocz Vertex plus on an older laptop.

I've never had any problems on the agility 3 but I do occasionally have to run a disk scan on the vertex plus when i start up the laptop. haven't had a blue screen problem though. I don't keep it running all the time like some people though.

Too much RAM can never really hurt. Just remember that the larger your RAM total the larger your Page and Hibernation file will be, and those will be on your OS partition.
