  • Ireland is the place for pike.

  • 48 sec thats what SHE said

  • 30 pound pike..... LMFAp

  • i fish a lot and that looks to me about 20lb no way its any bigger then that...

they need to buy some scales.....

  • pfffff ''MONSTER PIKE'' ??? come on guys

  • no way thirty 20 at max

  • HAHA the guy that catch it didint get a picture of himself holding the pike! GAHAHA

  • @Robbzman ahahahhahahaha now i noticed it hahahaha so funny :)

  • 20 pounds probably. nice fish!

  • Nice fish but no 30 pounder. Yes, NW Ontario will produce much bigger. Eat them? Well, they ARE good eating but very bony and damn near impossible to fillet. Besides where you catch Northerns you will find Walleyes. Not THAT's a good eaing, easy to clean fish. Keep 'em alive till dinner time, a little egg, a little flour, and into the cast iron skillet. Yum Yum!

  • This is no monster Pike, I've seen bigger in Quebec, Canada. Also, why do these people always free the fish? We EAT them, do people still do that today? EAT food?

  • Even in Denmark that isn't a monster pike ;)

  • What are they talking about...?? No way this fish is a 30 pounder... 20lbs at best! I've caught some 30 pounders a couple of times and they were fat compare to this one. Nice catch though, it's a beautiful young fish fish that needs to eat more.

  • hehe I love good company slow music candle lights

  • about 12lb's tops that was a skinny stickleback

  • That's a medium size pike in Sweden

  • lool i am rich now

  • the pike on my wall is 17 lbs...no way that's anything over 15

  • @ECJUSA

    is it plastic or real???

  • @elflordbob1 real

  • Very beautifull fish!

  • 30 lbs my bolox

  • i caught goldfish bigger than that!

  • Salmon sounds like great meat with salad and family....so wasting time was just a game?????

  • go to canada you get even bigger ones there

  • 0:48 thats what she said!!!!!

  • @danne2panne lol "thats the biggest ive ever seen" haha lmao

  • 30 lbs no way not even close Im guessing 18-19.

  • 30lb ???????

i woudlnt even say its 15lb

    tryna kid your self there.

  • I have cought bigger... But still nice fish.

  • I've seen bigger. But not caught bigger

  • That righ ther is a 20 pounder fellas. Maybe 25.

  • 16-18 LBs

  • Everything about a pike's head and gills is sharp. The key is to grab them with one had about 5 inches from the tail with one hand. Your other hand should be placed underneath the jaw. With the fish's head in your palm, place your thumb in the bottom of the one gill opening. Your other fore and fingers should be in the other lightly pinch. Keep the fish close to your body-- I've seen strong northern jerk a guy nearly out of the boat.

  • thats an alligator -_-

  • sorry bro 20lbs sounds way more reasonable. but all in all, very nice catch!!

  • Hehe 30lbs my arse

  • To calm them down use your thumb and index finger to cover there eyes

  • A nice catch, not even close to 30 pounds though. My uncle has a 27 pounder on his wall and it dwarfs that pike. Rough guess, I'd say about 40-42 inches and roughly 20, maybe 21 pounds.

  • fuckin crocodile

  • where in alaska and what did you use to catch it?

  • that's more like 20 pounder, still very nice catch!

  • my grandad caught a 3ft pike and that was 12 pounds so i doubt thats 30

  • The camera adds 10 pounds so this is a goldfish

  • itsn't a monster

  • I hate the way those bitches fight

  • Come to canada...that fish is tiny.

  • not even close to 30 pounds. i caught a pike today that was probably a little bigger than that one and it measured 43 inches and weighed 17 lbs.

  • @HammsPremium cause there coming right off the spawn there starving i just caught 4 two days ago that were above 36 inchs and all weighted close to 15 pounds. now catch the same pike at the end of the summer and they will be much heavier. that being said that pike it totally not 30 pounds lol

  • Let that go why don't ya, then flat out kick yourself in the crotch.

  • Looks more like a zander.

  • 10-15 maybe no ways its 30

  • small

  • monster minnow more like it

  • lol if you think thats a monster pike you've obviously never fished in ireland. thats 20lbs tops, the pike over here have been known to reach 50lb, it would take more than one man to pull him in

  • @gooosfrabaa where abouts in ireland do you fish..?

  • GET REAL.

I caught a 17 pound pike last summer and it was WAY bigger than that "probally" 11 pounder. NICE FISH but not a 30 pounder.... come on now guys

  • Did someone belch at 1:19? hahahahahaha sure sounded like it? Did anyone else here it?

  • 30 lbs, try under 20

  • @TravP1986

    i thought 15-17 lol

  • I need help people!

When I put my hand under the pikes gill to unhook them, I keep cutting my fingers on something sharp, i think its the gills (and no its not their teeth).

    What am I doing wrong?

Please help, as I really want to learn how to do it properly! cheers

  • @Gerard24689 The edges of the gill plates are sharp. Handle a pike by grabbing him at the base of the neck.

  • @BuckMcNeely But you see in most videos how people get a hold under their gills...and its a very good hold of the pike, and you have full control over it.

  • @BuckMcNeely nice catch.... im new to fishing pike so i was wondering, will a 10lb line be good enough?

  • @Gerard24689 use a set of needle nose pliers they have some made especially for for fish who like to swallow hooks

  • @Gerard24689 first time pulling a pike out of an ice hole i did the same thing lol

  • @Gerard24689 The best way of picking up a pike Is to put your hand under the gills. Not only Is It the easiest way, but you also don't have to worry about dropping the fish. But you do need to make sure to stick in your hand so the fingernails are resting against the sharp edges of the gills or you might get cut.

  • @Bakstru The best way to handle any fish is to never touch the gills at all, that is if you plan to release it like you should with large bruts like this. Pinch high right behind the base of the head and with the other hand, get a grip just behind the anal fin and in it goes. Pike are covered in a thick protective slime that you want to minimize the amount of handling so you dont wipe it off.

  • @Gerard24689 when you hold a big pike in the gill make sure you dont put your hand inbetween the red gills, only hold the gill-outside cover thing, or what the hell its called then slide your hand forward untill it kinda locks into place. youll only get cuts if he starts trippin in your hand, but thats just bad luck

  • @Gerard24689 ya grab him around the neck an body..but i got some pike gloves that there teeth cant cut threw..they cost like 10 or 15 bucks?? I just got my hand slashed open today from a pike..trying to get my steel leader outta his mouth..LOL

  • @Gerard24689 Leatherman Wave - best fisherman tool!

  • @Gerard24689 properly isnt even by grabbing them by the gills if they are bigger you are supposed to hold them sideways because f they aare bigger and heavier the guts will and can acually rupture inside of them

  • @Gerard24689 hahaha yes thats very true pike have teeth in there gill plates meaning you dont want to put your hand in there. personally i grab them right by the eyes instantly opening there mouth. i assume its not the greatest technique as it might be hard on the fish if being released . but if youre goiing to keep it dont hesitate to grab it by the eyes. makes for wonderful results.if not just grab yourself a fishing glove. works wonders.

  • @xlxsulfuricxlx You are a fucking prick! Grab a fish by the eyes? I would grab you by your balls and squeeze hard, that would work wonders!!! Some idiots shouldn't be allowed to fish...

  • @Piterszczyk and youre a freak since i eat the fish i catch not just catch to put in my trophy room.. soom people shouldnt open there mouths

  • @xlxsulfuricxlx I release most of the fish I catch, especially the big ones after taking a picture. I try to be fair with nature- not stealing too much from it, especially if the fish give me so much fun when I catch them. If I decide to take a fish, I land it using net or by the gill plates, and quickly hit it hard in the head using special metal stick. Fish is dead in a second. You make it suffer before death you idiot... Ignorance cant be justified, learn how to handle the fish! Respect them!

  • @Piterszczyk ignorance is in your words. i eat the fish i catch as i eat the deer i shoot. there killed quickly and humainly as a human possibly do. you trophy fishing is any better then me suplying my family with food? ignorance cant be justified by what the white man says. please recpest OUR land.

  • @xlxsulfuricxlx Yes because after my "trophy" fishing the fish gets a chance to live and breed. And if you call squeezing the fishes eyes before killing it a humane way of doing it, then you are a dumbass. You dont grab the deer by the eyes before shooting it do you? So maybe start landing the pikes in a proper way, not like a noob but like a real fisherman- by the gill plates, by the back of the head, or invest 20$ in a bloody net...

  • @Piterszczyk not like im applying 1000000x lbs of pressure are you a retard?? and a real fisher man whats that to you some 1 who has a nice bass boat who gos to tournys?? youre a joke fishing isnt about being inspector gadgets its about landing a fish to eat. Not for Fun.

  • @xlxsulfuricxlx Woow ur an complete idiot

  • @Gerard24689 grab them on top. just behind the head. Not sure why, but it seems to paralyze them or sumthing. I know anytime i do it, they remain still. I watch others do it and the fish is freakin out flippin around and causing harm to itself. Hand behind the head and no one gets hurt!

  • @Gerard24689 when u hold the pike ur hands should cover his gills cuz the sharp thing is under his breathing thing so cover it

  • @Gerard24689 You want to stick your hand at the end of the gills (closest to the head)

and slide up perfectly so you have your fingers under its teeth, then you have an iron grip. Do it wrong and you will get cut.

  • @Gerard24689 when u grab them sqeeze there qills n they wont move or thts what works for when i do it

  • @Gerard24689 Check the video of the user philblakey called "acrobatic pike", you can see by which part of the gill plate he is grabbing. Also dont touch the red gills themselves as they are very easy to damage and you can simply kill the pike. Grabbing the pike by the base of the neck works, but if its a big one it may prove problematic, simply because of the size od the neck.

  • @Piterszczyk cheers man :)

  • @Gerard24689 I think you might need theese 2 tools to keep your fingers safe, i use them myself, check this out: this one to keep her mouth open: zvejys.lt/market/images/product/thumbnail_9721.jpg

This one to remove the hook: zvejys.lt/market/images/detailed/fishermans_pliers.png

  • I have fished for pike for most of my life and that pike is certainly no more than 7 or 8 pounds at best. So to say its a 30 pounder is just dreaming.

  • He said " I wanna look at that lil' JEWEL! Not Jew. Listen again more closely.

  • I want to live in alaska because my hobbies are fishing and hunting is it worth living in alaska and what place specifically are you in I.E yukon etcetera

  • The guy that caught it, never got to hold it.... yea!

  • Seems like a joke to land it in a release cradle and then let it beat itself to death in the bottom of the boat from mishandling. Get a NEW GUIDE!~~!

  • @pikesticker fish can survive for hours before dying from lack of water on their gills and this was like 2 mins so yeeeeah...

  • Sounds to me he said "Little Jewell". Not "Little Jew".

  • Nowhere near a 30. 15-17 tops

  • @Lamaggra Uh, so he is not allowed to wear camo? A coat can't serve more than one purpose? I'm surprised a person with such 'fashion sense'' would watch a video related to outdoors activity...

  • Buck needs to go to the susquhanna river in central Pennsylvania. That's not even a keep down there.

  • That.s a crocodile,desguised in pike.

  • This fish looked nice and clean. In the fall of 09 I caught a 36" northern in South Bay NY (Whitehall NY) and when I got him up to take pictures we noticed that it was just dripping with slime. It looked like king kong had blown his nose on this fish. even the pictures you can clearly see the snot just running off it. I'd never seen that before and I've caught my share of fish.

  • that pike was not 30lb plus no way maybe 25lb at the most!

  • I respect these fisherman for letting him go. Am I an animal activist? No, however give someone else the opportunity to catch it. Then again let it go fhe next fisher

  • @Powerofone09
