Arranging a violin piece for the piano is an act against nature, like trying to saddle a bull. Here Mr. Busoni slapped a saddle on more like a cow, and got away with it anyway. The piece's contradictions make for a neat test of what a pianist is made of, and this lady grasped that crossing of Bach with Busoni gives you a kind of Scarlatti, and she plays it like a convincing baroque piece, which of course it actually is.
@krzysiukrawczyk I recently re listened to Pletnev's live recording of the Bach Busoni, done at Carnegie.... Wow!. Of course, he is not very popular with many because of his exploits but that does not affect his artistry.
JUST SUPERB!!!!! ALICIA DE LARROCHA HAS BEEN ONE OF THE GREATEST!!!! and some people only know her for her renditions of spanish music. IS TIME TO KNOW THAT SHE HAS PLAYED MUCH MORE THAN JUST MUSIC OF SPANISH COMPOSERS. SHE HAD A LONG REPERTOIRE (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, impressionist, etc). SHE HAS BEEN ONE OF THE GREATES OF THE KEYBOARD OF OUR TIME!!!!! YEEEEESSSSSSS
What a remarkable observation! I would never have thought of that, but I think you may be right.
Certainly her playing is unsurpassed for clarity, excellent sound and superb control. She is one of an ever-growing number of incredibly fine virtuosi, but in that number she is distinguished.
Now THIS is a PIANIST of the highest caliber! I've always loved her playing but this sets her apart from the mob of so-called greatest pianists! This is not an easy piece to play. Oh Alicia...I was born to late to enjoy your concerts! :(
What an ARTIST!!!Alicia de Larrocha is very well known for her superb interpretations of spanish music, but I think that she is much more than that. Mozart, Beethoven, Scarlatti, Grieg, Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Ravel, 2nd of Brahms, Shumann, Shubert, etc, etc, etc. I had the chance to be in many of her live concerts and, believe me, she has been one of the best pianist of our time. Good bless you, Alicia!!!!!!!!

由開頭類似金屬的音色,
直到最後將鋼琴強大的音響性能展現。
途中的表情、炫技、情感,亮點都非常豐富。這是相當出色的演奏!

Listen to the "breath " she gives between the 17th second and the 20th
detail is everywhere in this artist of artists
what a Lady, elegant, feminine, classy
sheer artist of the piano and of the soul
I love Madame Alicia De Larrocha
She is so gracious after her performances . I have heard her play publicly nearly a dozen times.
What an honor !

It is amazing how much this great pianists
playing seems to be influenced by the spanish language with its crispness and
clarity of sound ,the distinktivenesofthe consonantsmaking thesong of the vowels of the vowels the more more alluring.
