  • I knew you weren't dead buddy! Totally love the yellow black shirt he chose, no coincidence of EnterDragon character he played. That's right I got it, lol, great interview by the way. Well done! Can't wait for that dam book, leak some of the fight incidents he had everyone keeps so tight lip about.

  • Yes write a book and tell the world that bruce lee was the hardest man who ever lived and would whoop MMA tourny fighters.

  • Rumours of Jim Kelly's death? What fucking rumours? Would anybody really give a fuck if Jim Kelly died? That bloke's a complete tool.

I own two Jim Kelly films; One Down, Two to Go and The Black Samurai, and i watch them purely for the comedic value. They're some of the funniest fucking films i've ever seen! I don't think they're supposed to be funny but they are!

  • Jim Kelly Is brilliant, I love him and Bruce in Enter the Dragon, I think Jim Kelly should of had chuck norris's roles, I don't really rate Chuck Norris, Jim Kelly is the man, I never buy books but i'd genuinely buy Jim's i think he's a cool man and very interesting.

  • very brotherly of you to give Bruce Lee props..still cool

  • I want to buy the book!

  • jim you are a true hero, i bow down to the awesomeness of your life.

  • what is the music in 0:00-0:06

    THANKS

  • Best ever fighter, was bruce lee

  • Jim is in great shape.

  • Tattoo connection filmed in Hong Kong was his best starring role

  • Yes tell the world bruce lee was the greatest fighter of all times. Tell them that he would beat GSP, or is at least a better fighter, because Bruce lee researched himself at a time when it was hard to do.

Now you can just stick a dvd in and almost learn. Can you imagine bruce lee today with all the resources available to him.

    He would dominate.

  • Glad to see Jim doing so well. 2 of my favorite scenes in Enter the Dragon was the fight with the cops in the alley were Jim kicked their butts and took their patrol car to the airport and the part were Jim and John Saxon were setting this guy up on bets.

    Great interview by the interviewer.

  • @PanteraMark How about when he thrashed the pigs who tried to set him up in Three The Hard Way? That scene was also excellent.

  • @IDontHoldTheTruth Thanks I appreciate it. I hope to have more interviews in the future.

  • Much respect!

  • i have to hand it to you, you are a great interviewer, we can see that jim likes you,

    keep em coming my friend.

  • @thehomefront Thanks bro. We became friends after the interview and still keep in touch as we have much in common. Take care.

  • @KatoFilms Thanks for the interview I'm a big Jim Kelly fan, It was great to see him doin well.

  • Glad to see him "alive and kickin". =)

Also glad to see someone else who worked with Jun Fan that pays him respect.

  • I thought he was dead also this guy kick ass

  • I would have loved if you'd make him look in the camera and say "Bullshit mr han man!"

  • awesome!

  • Jim Kelly is not dead. He's just hanging out in Tibuktu with Andy Kaufman, Tupac Shakur and Michael Jackson. lol.

  • @SithV1 try putting a horse cock in your mouth loser. your grandma is fucking dead.

  • If it weren't for Bruce Lee, we wouldn't be on the internet talking about martial arts on this level today period!

  • Black Belt Jones himself, class act! I have an autograph from Wondercon!

  • @WarriorBoy Great! Authentic Jim Kelly autographs are not easy to obtain as he only sells them in person at conventions. No website yet unfortunately.

  • @KatoFilms: Unfortunately I didn't get to meet him, I had a friend of mine pick it up and I was of course told the man is nothing but appreciative of his fans.

  • Was inspired back in my college days

  • Legend:)

  • Jim kelly i love you. Please tell the world how great bruce lee was as a fighter because there are a lot of jealous people who try put Lee down because of jealousy.

There are internet trolls who say no one sad he was the best fighter. Lying to themselves.

Please tell all in a book.

  • I would love to meet you jim but i would be too shy to mmet you. Too shy because you met and knew bruce lee.

But i will buy your book instead.

  • well done jim. Lots of bruce haters try downgrading Lee because of jealousy.

Let the world know how great bruce lee was and that he was the best fighter who ever lived.

  • a pleasure to see this outstanding guy interviewed

  • Judo Gene Lebell had the first modren mma fight back in 1963 in Salt Lake City. He fought a boxer and won and he also was one of Bruce Lee grappleing teachers. Bruce was not the father of mma!

  • @Mr007batman judo is not mma. and judo doesent work without a gi. 90% of wrestling will stop judo throws.

  • @Mr007batman The term was first coined by Dana White - President of the UFC and Bruce's style was not meant for the cage. Regardless of what you agree or disagree with he popularized the martial arts and his "Best style is no style" philosophy more than anyone in history.

  • What a humble gentleman!!!!! Still too busy lookin good!!!!!

  • Great interview Franklin! Loved Jim Kelly in Enter The Dragon to bits so it is good to see him doing this informative interview. Apart form asking sensible questions the best thing an interviewer can do just is let the subject speak. Thats was the style of Parkinson here in the UK. Good luck with future interviews and keep em coming....now what about doing one on Dan Inosanto.

  • @biodag Thanks bro and I agree. It's best to let the person talk uninterrupted our of courtesy and professionalism. If I can meet up with Dan Inosanto i'll try to arrange an interview.

  • you conducted yourself so professional, thanks for getting a lot of these answers out of JIM

  • Jim Kelly, a GREAT MAN!!!

  • Great interview!! He comes across as a really down to earth and kind guy. I wonder what's his thoughts are on Ali and Foreman as boxers back in the day...

  • Hey Katofilms that was a great interview. Thanks for posting and I learned some more about Jim Kelly who was a great martial artist. I liked that he paid homage and showed much respect to Bruce Lee. Keep up the good work.

  • @mtume007 You're welcome and glad you liked it. I tried asking Jim all the right questions that the fans want to know. Jim has the ultimate respect for Bruce Lee and was not afraid of expressing his views on it.

  • Great interview! Jim Kelly was my role model when I was growing up...he inspired me to study martial arts. And I'm a white guy! His ability, confidence, and bearing really inspired me. Thanks for posting.

  • @Powerjudo Thanks bro and glad he made a positive difference in your life. Jim has inspired many fans and martial artists from all walks of life and even still so today.

  • Good interview Franklin... good job

  • @BlazedaTrack Thanks man!

  • We love you Jim Kelly!. Great to see more of you :)

  • Achillies101, Masutatsu Oyama was 175 cm, 85 kg. In his 60s he started to lose muscle mass, and his weight was down to 80 kg.

  • hmmm i wonder were to find a bolo yeung interview.. i loved this interview.

  • Mann Jim, U come rite out of a comic book.

  • Mas Oyama would have killed Bruce Lee.

  • Comment removed

  • @tonyvalente You are correct sir, Oyama was bald and he was Korean. I am assuming you knowledge of him comes primarily from a youtube video of him from when he was 70 or so. In his sixties he did gain some weight because his injuries kept him from training, but pictures and videos of him as a younger man show him as totally ripped. Time magazine even named him the toughest man alive. I really can't argue with you over this topic without sounding childish.

  • @tonyvalente All Kyokushin sparring allows kicking the head, just not punching. It does make for some bad habits among certain groups, but it is nothing something that makes the style irreversibly bad. That rule was added so that matchest would last longer. The clip you sent me was of my specific kyokushin organization by the way.

  • wa to speak ill of the dead guy. way to be.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh yeah the audacity of me telling you to stop talking smack about a dead man. That shows alot about your character and were did machida come from?

  • Comment removed

  • You know I personally couldnt give a rats fucking ass about your views becasue they all sound like their pulled directly frm your rectum. In short to make to end this relationship off with a bang fuck you, fuck your ignorant views, and go find some more effective comebacks from that how to verbally defend yourself for dummies book you third grade dumb inbreed fuck.

P.S. I am not a machida fan I am GSP fan you stupid irrelevant prick

  • @Kyofighter93 I hope your mom dies today so she can fuck gary coleman in the after life.

  • @tonyvalente Like I said consult with your fucking book you stupid infective comeback motha fucka god your so fucking stupid and there you go again about speaking about the dead again

  • i'm no martial artist and i know NOTHING about UFC. I watched one episode. Thing is, it didn't seem real to me. I mean in full contact mixed martial arts you'd expect people to be bloody and broken within 2 minutes but some of these fights really drag on. Very few of them seem to exhibit any skill anywhere near what i'd expect from the best fighters in the world. It just looks like boxing with some occasional wrestling. where's the rest of the martial arts?

  • Jim Kelly is awesome. Glad he is still full of energy.

He should definitely do some voice over work for cartoons or videogames. He's got a cool attitude.

  • Oh shit!! It's BLACK BELT JONES!!! My Favorite movie that he started in. Cool Black guy!!! Black Belt Jones (:

  • "Man..... You come right out of a comic book". Jim Kelly

  • Jim Kelly, always cool. Jim Kelly fact: Jim Kelly would've kicked Chuck Norris ass in Way of the Dragon, but he never bothered to show up cuz he was "Too busy looking good."

  • Great person !

  • Jim, you make have no idea how much you make your black brothers proud and

how much we love you. When is your book out? we will advertise it for you.

You should give all those actor actresses artists a lecture on the meaning of the word ROLE MODEL.

    Thank you, Thanks a lot!

  • Damn....Jim is still FINE!!! I had and still do have the biggest crush on this man!! Although he is 30 years older than me, he could "make me sweat one way then the other"...lol!!

  • Absolute legend this guy! Too busy looking gooodd!

  • I really enjoyed the smooth soul brothers interivew!! He is the best! And seeing as jim checks the internet as he said, Jim please make that book, There;s not much stuff of you, thanks Jim, smooth soul brother.

  • Still rocking the fro with class.

  • Great to see you Jim!

  • Legend

  • Remember yOu sent a videO bOut FEDOR(i do not know anything about him since i do not follow boxing etc...)

Jim likes him saying he is gOOd which was contrary to the videO i seen!

  • That must have been a different user because I don't have a video on Fedor. From all the videos i've seen of Jim Kelly online (not many available) he's only said positive things about Fedor.

  • @KatoFilms

(:Hi,that cOmment was fOr Tony Valente as a message!:)

  • @ CheckinGagaiNagain. Thanks for the clarification. I'll pass this onto Tony if he didn't already see this.

  • Great Up !!!!!

  • gudd video

  • Thanks bro.

  • Excellent interview, very relaxed and informative. Jim was great and man he really still is busy looking good lol

  • Thanks I appreciate it. Jim looks fantastic and is just really good at a lot of stuff. He's an incredible athlete.

  • Definitely still in great shape.

  • Yes he is. As he mentioned "You never know when that next offer will come around", so he has to be prepared.

  • Good to see you Jim
