However in the case of Orange and Lemon, if they claim "pinoy ako" was their original material, i am sorry but i think this is clearly an intellectual infringement.

All I know, ABS CBN has nothing to do with the "Pinoy Ako". The lyrics was not done by, your allegation, an ABS CBN writer. Check the copy right of "Pinoy Ako" submitted to National Library, it was Orange and Lemon who wrote the lyrics.

@baskal002 A very unintelligent comment. These guys have heavy New Wave influences (The Smiths etc). Obviously, they copied the whole song structure, and not just a "riff" as you stupidly claim, put in some lyrics, and passed it off as their own. I would be fine with copying riffs or even sampling portions of songs..but DELIBERATELY copying a whole musical piece and even denying that they did, is way too pathetic.

All I know, ABS CBN has nothing to do with the "Pinoy Ako". The lyrics was not done by, your allegation, an ABS CBN writer. Check the copy right of "Pinoy Ako" submitted to National Library, it was Orange and Lemon who wrote the lyrics.

Yup. When my father first heard PBB's soundtrack he immediately got this out from his old records and played it. It was the same replica...only cooler :-P mga pinoy nga naman tlga oh...

pkinggan nyo ung Butterfly ng rapmetal band na Crazy Town tpos pkinggan nyo din ung Pretty Little Ditty ng Red Hot Chili Peppers.. prang gnun din ung gnwa nila.. kmuha lang cla ng riff dun sa song then they filled up their lyrics so wlang plagiarism sa gnwa nla..

One thing I can say is that ONL absolutely improved this melody a 100 per cent! It became a perfect song by the way they tweaked it!
