@RodsAndAxes im not from rome or something. In fact i am from greece and if u dont know what the romans ever did for us then i would reccomend u a good book of hisory
@RodsAndAxes NO I am a Christian Orthodox.....I just know how to admit that the roman culture is a great one.....You probably dont have any kind of justice
@RodsAndAxes NO I am a CHRISTIAN ORTHODOX..../and I just know how to admire and RESPECT the culture of each counrty....You just seem to know nothin about the roman period so shut up.
apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, they did nothing!
hail rome for it's glory, for no civilzation after rome, succed to the glory that rome has once achived, the one true civilization that deserved to exhist and keep there religon
@neonenour89 Yes, due to the way a Colosseum was built and the acoustics in a way amplified the sound so the crowd could hear music or speeches and the such. Hope that helps. :)
This is very melodic. In what settings might this music have been performed? Also, where is there an archive of such music or other audio vestigaes of Roman culture?
Thank you for performing a useful service and adding beauty from the roman civilzation to our own.
Music archive? I could PM you a download link with all of my ancient music on Dropbox that I have uploaded... Plenty of people ask for that, so I posted quite a while ago.
Setting? Most music was in the Pugnate album was performed in either private parties or in various stages of the Games. This one would fit into the former category.
There is not any written roman music! the archeologists rebuilt the instrument and their sounds starting from frescoes.. so the music you are listening to is just "rebuilt"
@neonenour89 Well buddy, these "archeologists" not only found papers explaining how to build the instruments but they also found scores on how to recreate the music. The Romans actually made detailed instructions how to do this. What you are listening to is the music that was played imbetween Gladiatorial fights whilst the brutalized bodies were being dragged away. That is what the Pugnate was.
You know, after listening to most of these, I have to wonder: is there a modern bias in the making of the music, or does our music sound somewhat similar (in some genres) because of the use of similar modes and playing styles?
..what the hell do you mean with "THEY" ?!... You have to say: "WE"... 'cause all the westerners are GREEK AND ROMAN... THIS IS OUR CIVILIZATION

If you know Latin, you should be able to get the lyrics from listening.
