Just stumbled across this following a friend add. Awesome stuff! It's definately got that Austin, Texas sound. Bit like Midlake! Always room for some more bands like that around!
I think I've listened to this song about 20 times in the last two days. I am no where near tired of it. I just recently heard of this band and I REALLY want to get more of their music :)
This is my first listen to these guys..the music is very relaxing.. even if the lyric is tragic. I don't really understand this song at all!! The last verse references the poem "The Second Coming" by William Butler Yeats. It begins:Turning and turning in the widening gyre.The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold" I read that this could mean the end of the earth. Dunno tho.
@funfabmegan "That moves, without sound, through the air, through the ground, and that streams through each break carved in the line, and dreams of us" That's the last verse of this song, but I don't see how it's a reference to Yeats. I love the second coming, it's chilling and powerful, if the last verse of this did reference the second coming it'd be a really profound statement, "And dreams of us," the idea of Yeats' rough beast dreaming of us, moving without sound, it's an interesting thought
Howcome there aren't any lakes in this video? Oh wait...

Sooo glad I found Shearwater on a whim. They're so legit and devastatingly underrated.

@funfabmegan the album as a whole references the U.S. nuclear tests on Bikini Atoll and the surrounding islands, I think...
