John John John where have you gone? Your words that night so many years ago brought hope to millions of people. This is the John McCain that could have beaten Obama. The man we see today is not only a corporate sellout but a poor substitue.
Let's face it. John McCain wasn't popular in his own party because he's not a religious extremist. The biggest reason he lost -- there were others of course, but this is the main one -- is because he didn't successfully gain the support of the Christian faction of the Republican Party. The GOP of today is firmly anchored to the Christian Taliban. Without it, it would cease to exist as a political party.
Consensus groups such as these are poision to our society, Republican/democrat parties, and the so called religious right. Faith and hope is the answer.
It's sad but McCain sold his soul to the right. If he ran on the same platform he did in 2000 and still got nominated by the GOP I think he would be our president elect.
Can I get some pork with them waffles? Just say it, McCain, the Christian Coalition is a corrupt money machine without any moral value at all! I like the fact he's agin'em, he's just got his hands tied by politicking, otherwise he'd have said what he was really thinking!
McCain was such a badass back then. Where did it go...

The neo-cons have destroyed the Republican party. Goldwater's prediction about the party's direction ended up being true...

@Tarwater03 neo-cons are not christian nor conservatives

wow...where did that mccain go?
manny4life 3 years ago 3
I think in his heart McCain still feels this way. He's just kind of....not talked about it lately for political reasons.......
philberz 3 years ago 12
He also brought in an ultra conservative as his VP to re-energize the GOP and bring in the religious right vote.
kuryamtl 3 years ago 2
I liked mccain in 2000. He was basically an independent.
In the last 8 years he has turned on himself. I can't stand him now.
I'm voting for Obama.
