I love this video ( wich I have from many years ago!!. it was from a tv program.
Please erase that 1 "who don't ike" because it was me I touch wrong the clik... lol, so, therea are anybody who don't like this beautifull video!!. Sorry. and delete that.. please. ..
I remember this receiving airplay when it was released as a single here in the US. 1972, maybe 1973, I'm guessing? After "Nights On Broadway", it was an express train to SUCKSVILLE!
I love all the Bee Gees' songs but this is one of my favourites of theirs. I even remember first hearing it back in 1973, when I was 9 years old, and it's been a favourite of mine since then. A classic!
This is one of my favorite top ten songs by them. When I get this CD out, I play this first, before anything else. I watched this the night it aires...I watched ALL the episodes of MS when the Bee Gees were on, without fail! Thanks for posting and giving me such wonderful memories.
the greatest group of the 20th century THE BEE GEES, how many wonderful and extremely beautiful songs were composed by brothers Gibb: Barry and twins Robin(my favorite) and sadly disappeared Maurice, too many to list them here, now LAMPLIGHT, BLACK DIAMONDS,MASSACHUSETTS; I AM THE WORLD; IOIO; I'VE GOTTA GET A MESSAGE TO YOU; WORLD; WORDS; I STARTED A JOKE,REMEMBERING; COUNTRY LANES; TRAFALGAR, LIVING IN CHICAGO,and many others sadly unknown gems make the >Bee Gees> the cream of the top
I actually thought that Life In A Tin Can was an excellent album, so many great songs, I know it did not sell too well, I just cannot understand why. These guys do not make bad albums, every one has been brilliant, I just love the Bee Gees!
@NelsonsHat I agree 100%! The album sold well at my house from vinyl on... I wish I could find a post of the BG's singing "Come Home Johnny Bridie" off that album!! I don't know if they ever sang in on any of their tours. It's amazing how good they were when they were teens and then sounded even better and better as time went on. Miss Mo, though. No new releases can carry the same depth without him, although there were many songs he didn't harmonize on. Thx for the post!!
@NelsonsHat Have you ever heard the scrapped followup LP, "A Kick In The Head Is Worth Eight In The Pants"? Despite what Barry and Robert Stigwood have said about it, I thought it was AMAZING. So many good songs that no one ever heard.
i remember watching this show when i was 9 yrs old. I taped the song with a audio recorder while my parents slept. I didnt find the song again till I found "tin can" years and years later. Its still one of my favorites. Love the harmonies.
nice version of the song, from their magnificent 'tin can' lp. too bad the record company made them pare it down from a double, it had no chance without a real hit on it.
What do you mean "pare it down from a double"? Was the 1973 "Life in a tin can" originally a double? I didn´t know that... Please ellaborate on that, John.
the record co. wasn't sure the first record produced by the beegees alone (without bill shepard) should be a double, so they made them split it, but then 'tin can' failed commercially so 'a kick in the head is worth 8 in the pants' wasn't released at all, and rso made them start working with arif mardin.
if you google "gibb songs" you'll find a great site, rich in detail. go straight to 72 and 73 for more info about these records.
Thanks John. I knew that "A kick in the head..." album was rejected by the record co. but I didn´t know that was the second LP from a projected double with the "Life in a tin can" album. By the way, I have a CD copy of the "A kick in the head..." album.
Do I remember corectly you asked me if I like coffee of tea for breakfast?!? I thought you will be preparing my breakfast and I was a bit unpatiente... Do I have to wait long, how long? Sweetheart???!!! xXx
I remember well and I thought you prefer first me ;)...and after that I´m peparing your breakfast...so please tell me when this will be ....how long I have to wait ??? SWEETHEART???? XxX
Hahahahaaaaaaa, you made my morning with this, hahahaaa, some hot stuff, hahahahaaaaa - if Bee Gees could know how happy they make their true fans and still!!! LOVE XXX
The Bee Gees have been my favorites since the 70s. They are incredibly underrated.

Not yet disco, but not really moved beyond their reunion album 2 years on.
Without a doubt one of the best groups in the last fifty years.

Great to see others know "Life in a Tin Can." I think "I Don't Want to be the One" from that album is one of their best.
