One of the most beutiful music of Secret of Mana 2. This tune creates the charm of quiet snowy place and the flow from it to Hattensho, known as Crystal Palace's music is awesome.
I could never beat this game by myself. I can hardly play this game by myself. I need some people with me in some of the harder dungeons. Dodging, ducking, and weaving with one character isn't enough. :(
maaaaaaaannnn ths song brings back some memories....sigh.......back when gaming music was extraordinary.....yeah i really liked this one and the ice palace theme....great, relaxing music to sleep to....even more so than weather channel music lol....
I'm the same way as SuperDarky. I play this every year because of most of the music themes on this game, even have it on Wii Virtual Console to go with my SNES version. I even went on and bought the original soundtrack from Japan.
In case anyone wasn't aware, this classic just got released on iTunes recently. Not the song (though, actually, the whole OST's on there too), the game itself.
I just recently replayed this on Virtual Console and it struck me, how would this game have been if they hadn't scrapped the cooperation between Nintendo and Sony and reduced the size of this game to cartridge. Apparently the game was supposed to be even more amazing.
@malgez i agree with your agreement ;p One of my favorite things about CT is the levels progression is perfect you dont have to "grind" like Dragon warrior/Quest and apparently this game( from reading the comments)
@xSayPleasex yea exactly. I think chrono trigger has the perfect level set up, along with many of the final fantasy games. If you battle every enemy you come to and dont run away, you should be able to beat the end boss with a bit of a challenge, and not have to grind.
About damn time you posted this. Err, I was inspired by you to post links to video game music on facebook and describe how it makes me feel. This is going to be tomorrow's song. Beat me to it, Supra!
Darky you should consider "Eternal Sonata - White Mirror" as a snowy theme. I fell in love with that piece. And its played in a beautiful snowy village. Check it out
I finished it with a couple of friends a few months ago, and now we're on to Secret of Mana 2! It's awesome! It's nothing I played as a kid, but even so, it's really enjoyable to go through it for the first time now.
Amazing music. Very relaxing and beautiful.
I love Winter-environments in games. Including this one. :)
One of those rare games I could go through yearly, Kikuta's music being one of the reasons why. This is a really nice winter theme, it adds an awesome atmosphere to the snowy place.
@SupraDarky very strange I just added this to my favorites yesterday, sad though, because it reminds me that someone said that this reminds them of their father who passed away.
@SupraDarky I must say, sir, I have listened to your Best VGM lists many times while at work, and you have some excellent taste in video games and video game music.
This has always been my personal favorite track from SoM. I listen to it often in the winter time.
This song and Pendrama Drifts are the only songs that can convey to me the true felling of a calm snowy winter morning in a game.

Can playing a video game make one a better person? If you have truly experienced Secret of Mana, then you know the answer to that question.

Ah, THE stand out song from the game, for me. Spent a lot of time here for the music alone.
...then of course, since I was there anyway, I beat the crap outa those poor wolves a lot.

If you have a couple friends to play with or are good at managing your AIs and controlling their magic, you really don't need to grind at any point.

This was the single best game on the SNES.
Arguably, it also has the best soundtrack out of any video game-- No, out of ANY form of media that involves music.
