  • 4:45 OH? DO I HEAR FUNKY DRUMMER IN THERE ?!? O.o

  • it is so impressive the JB did this record with kids who just wanted to record with him, they were hungry

  • brown was just awesome. moultrie ga

  • the rawest shit u gonna hear all night...my mother had this album from when it cameout waaaaay back! i remember seeing the album in her records when i was a weee nipper- i guess that explains my love 4 this man called james brown. i like the boston show 68 where the crowd rush the stage when this tune plays...its that bad!

  • Stripped down, and as raw as it gets. The drum break part is fantastic, and the groove becomes more intense as the song goes on.

  • a str8 groove

  • This is a track I never cared much for, but trying to look 'outside the box', it really was a much different tune for JB, not using any horns, a forerunner to 'Sex Machine'. It's actually not too bad, now that I listen too it closely. It's funny though, almost immediately in concert, at least after a year, Mr. Brown added horns to the song, just as he did to the bridge on 'Sex Machine'.

  • @PaulDA2000 Actually that is a totally different band behind him on this one. A local group of musicians out of Cincinnati known as the Dapps.

  • @littlenaitch2

With a great bass player called Tim Drummond.

  • @IkeDyson71 That is correct. Tim Drummond joined the James Band and even went to Vietnam with Soul Brother #1 to perform for the troops. He is also playing in the "Boston Gardens" 1968 concert and the "Man to Man Live at the Apollo" concert (filmed about a month before Boston Gardens).

  • @littlenaitch2 - I know that, they were all white also lol I think. They sound nice, and I guess the song is average for me, just not a favorite of mine.
