  • I litterally hug them now!! HAHAH

  • I HAVE THEM ALL YAAAAAY!!! SOO HAPPY!!!

  • Check my latest vid for an unboxing of all five original Japanese Dragon Boxes. This is not spam.

  • hey these are impossible to find man. you think i should get the orange bricks or wait until all the blue ray get released? btw do you know how may b-rays are gonna be released and the time frame? thanks

  • @themApples14 Heh, I'd recommend you check out my new Dragon Box review, which answers this question, but I'll give you the short answer (although I'd still recommend you check it out ^_^): the Blu-rays. If the choice is between that and the orange bricks, or ANYTHING and the orange bricks, never choose the orange bricks. But I'd still recommend the DBoxes over the Blu-rays if you can track them down. For more info, see my newer video, third from the top on my channel page.

  • wow I had like the first 4, just month by month, I was thinking: aah they will not out of stock.. i was wrong I just ordered the last 3 and woow im glad! because the last 3 were in stock!

  • Do they redub on the dragon box or is as the same on the remastered and/or US original dub?

  • @FPSSJGoten It's the same 5.1, original soundtrack redub that was first featured on the orange bricks.

  • Do you know if they are still producing the Dragon Boxes ? Because is really hard to find it in the stores.

  • @SuperVegeta1913 Unfortunately, it seems they are no longer being produced. People are scrambling a bit now to find them all.

  • I finally completed my DBZ Dragon Box collection set today. I feel so honored.

  • @KennethMichaels Awesome! Congratulations!

  • @KennethMichaels same here the blu ray DBZ sets are nice and I might get it some day but this right here is the perfect DBZ box set right here

  • why do you like listening to something you can't understand xD BUT I WANT A DRAGONBOX IN ENGLISH!!!!!!!

  • @TheGamingTurtlez They're called subtitles. Makes it very easy to understand. And, um, I'm not sure if you actually watched this video or not because I made it very clear that the Dragon Boxes, every single one of them, ARE in English.

  • @MistareFusion i couldn't tell by how you were wording it wether they were in english or not and why do you dislike the dub so much? the only thing i've ever come to dislike is the fact that they cut out and change some scenes if they think its not suitable ....

  • @MistareFusion also nice job on replying to a comment to a comment on a 2 year old video so fast xD

  • @TheGamingTurtlez Thank you. I try. I also have a newer, complete Dragon Box Collection review that might help illuminate you further. But as for why I don't like the dub, it is extremely inaccurate. The dialogue is purposely mistranslated and punched up. I'm not fond of the voices, and, while they have improved over the years, when I was watching, they were quite terrible. And they replaced the music. I cannot support a dub so hellbent on changing the source material.

  • i love my orange bricks .... xD

  • "America: FUCK YEAH !" LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL !!!!

  • Same exact computer. Up-top! No I guess I'll just sit over here then. Missing a high-five.

  • @TheGamemaster126 Cyberspace high five back at you! Although I wish I had another computer. Mine is literally falling apart now and is connected to an external monitor and keyboard. =P

  • Both music tracks are great, IMO. The Japanese track is closer to Dragon Ball's style, so if you like watching the animes together like me it's more fluid. Faulconer's track gave those great, goose-gump moments, like Cell's death and Goku's first SSJ3 transformation. It's unfortunate we have to choose between accurate colors/no cropping, and Faulconer's music. Overall, the Dragon Boxes are definitely superior sets.

  • @Kloborgg Kikuchi's score gave me goosebumps.

  • @PrinceofSaiyajins456

Of course, I was only referring to my own opinions.

  • @XxGaGaStarxX

..You need to figure out what widescreen means, bro. The reason the orange bricks video fits the "whole screen" is that you've lost 20% of the vertical picture. Take a square picture. Cut off the top and bottom. BOOM widescreen. That's what's going on.

  • I hate what they did with the "Orange Brick" sets, there's just no excuse for that kind of shoddy so-called "remastering". Quite pathetic really...

That being said, I like both the original Japanese audio and the Funi dub. Yes, the Faulkner score is pure tack. Yes, the attack translations piss me off (Especially now that Naruto isn't being translated in the same way and is getting along with the Japanese names intact). (Cont'd. Damn character limit)

  • @PaleShadow18 (cont'd) but the dub is the one I grew up with, and that's the only reason I still have my Orange sets. Now I have the first Dragon Box in the mail on its way to me, and I plan on picking up each one on a monthly basis.

I'm hoping we get a release of the Dragon Box Movies and original series sets (screw GT). But I'm not holing my breath...

  • I know that the movies are not on the dragon box. So what about the tv speicals?

  • @Simplaya1996 With the release of the final box, I'm sad to say that they aren't. Since FUNimation has always marketed them as movies, it does seem a possibility they might be on the movies set (possibly in place of the DB movies, although that would be a shame as well if that were true). Personally, since they aired as part of the TV series in its time slot, I always thought they should be slotted in between the episodes they originally aired with, but not even the Japanese box has it like that

  • @MistareFusion What do you like better, the blue ray sets or the dragonboxes? the blue rays may be closer to the original colors from when DBZ was first aired on Fuji TV, but people think that automatically makes them "better", and I highly disagree.

  • @PrinceofSaiyajins456 I'm actually working on a final Dragon Box review that will, briefly, cover my thoughts on the Blurays, so, hopefully that will help. But remember that I do not have the Blurays or even a Bluray player.

  • I've always hated the japanese music. everything here seems to be perfect but if I'm forced to sit through the jap music it's a deal breaker for me personally

  • @Muppet933 Yeah the Japanese soundtrack was really generic and quite useless. Sure the American dub music is pumped up synth guitar and quite overly dramatic and cheesy, but uh, news flash, so is dbz, that's why they're good. And the american composer actually put thought into his compositions, unlike the japanese music which might as well be pulled from random bad 50s sci fi movies.

  • Ik i just baught it, its great

  • wait so does it have a dub, like without subtitles, just regular dbz voice actors? ex: Chrsitopher Sabat as Vegeta Sean Schimmel goku?

  • I grew up watching the original Dragon Ball on imported tapes from Japan and saw the Japanese Z before the dubs so I was a bit...confused to all the music change and all that crap when I saw it as a kid. Definitely will probably look into getting this.

But just to be sure, there is a Dragon Box of the original Dragon Ball right? Could care less about GT.

  • @edward18517 The Dragonboxes have DB/DBZ/DBGT/MOVIES all in japan with their Region 2 Versions that all together come to about 4,000 dollars in american money. They were very limited releases back in 2003 to 2005 I believe. The sets are very huge and FUNimation split the Z dragonbox into 7 sets with a far thinner dragonbook, but it's still awesome. The dragon ball dragonbox include the 2 specials.

  • @edward18517 The DBZ dragonbox volume 1 and 2 R2 releases include 3 specials which are the bardock, trunks, and Plan to eradicate the saiyajins OVA. The GT dragon box includes the 100 years later special with Goku Jr. The Movies dragonbox includes all 17 of them. Plus the Japanese Dragonboxes come with a BUNCH of extra's on the extra discs they include. The sets are really huge and contains the prime remastering and greatest release any hardcore fan of the series could ask for.

  • Does the dragon box have american music, like can you watch it with american music?

  • @zodiark2010

The answer is in the video.

  • So once you get Dragon Box Vol. 7 are you going to do a review of all 7 dragon boxes

  • @AshED65 That is my plan. I'm still pretty far behind on my work (have had a video in progress for the past few months now) due to tech issues, but I did want to go back to the DBoxes once they were over, to get more in-depth than I could then (both due to time limitations and the emergence of more information) as well as a catch all for all the DB-related questions I've received over the past two years, including my thoughts on DBKai. So hopefully that will happen relatively soon.

  • @MistareFusion they're over NOW

  • @CammyWho10 And I will not receive my last box until tomorrow. *sobs* I'm not a machine!

  • PLEASE HELP!

Hello I have recently read through Dragon Ball volumes 1 - 16 and found some of the Americans dialog in the cartoon to be stupid. Now I want to watch DBZ not read it if I watch it in English dubbed will he still be referred to as piccolo and stuff like that?

  • @FiguredOut95 If I understand you correctly, if you really want to watch DBZ in English, but you find the dialogue in the dub to be stupid, then I would probably recommend you watch Dragon Ball Kai, as its dub is quite a bit more faithful to the source material. I'd still recommend you read the manga, though (and btw, there actually is no DBZ manga. What you will find labeled as such is actually volumes 17-42 of Dragon Ball, as it's one series).

  • @FiguredOut95 In general, the names in the Viz translation of the manga are more accurate, but they weren't changed very much for the American TV show either. If the manga is what you know, then most of the names will be familiar to you. Certainly Piccolo. Probably the biggest offender is the character of Tenshinhan, who is renamed as "Tien." The Turtle Hermit, or Muten Roshi, is referred to as "Master Roshi."

  • Hey Fusion are you getting the Blu-Ray sets?

  • @RandomDandomVids As I don't have a Blu-ray player, nope, don't plan on it. Even if I did, though, I don't know if I'd care to buy the series again. The picture quality might be slightly higher but chances are it won't be as complete as the DBox, especially not for a fan of the original version. It'll probably lack previews and only have English credits and title cards like most of FUNimation's current releases. Just doesn't seem worth it to me.

  • Yeah. I'm mainly a fan of the dub because yes, A.) I don't really like to read subtitles all the time, and not because i'm from America xD But because I grew up with it so I never really exactly watched the japanese dub xD

  • Wow, this used to be $80 MSRP, now it's $32 on Amazon.

  • @HDDBZKAIHD Complicated question. I'm excited that an American audience is finally seeing Z footage with that music like they should have all along, but I'm disappointed that the real version of Kai is now being replaced. As for giving it a chance, I don't dislike Kai. I just have other things on the radar. As for the dub, I have watched episodes of it and have been quite impressed. I would still default to the original because I prefer to watch all media in its original presentation.

  • The only con I have about the Dragon Box is that is doesn't have the Bruce Faulconer BGM. I know the Jap music is better but sometime I like to watch DBZ with the Bruce Faulconer music because I grew up with it. But if the Dragon Box is said to be purist & how the series was suppose to be released, then I will probably get it

  • are these dvd's playable on a region 2 format, like the orange brick box sets?

  • @DevilMayCryDanteNero Unfortunately, no. Prior to this, FUNimation's discs had always been 1, 2, and 4, but for these, they dropped region 2.

  • @MistareFusion More likely, Toei saw them catering to the UK audience and pitched a godaman shit fit.

  • Wait, so Dragon box is kinda like Kai, where it has hi-def picture and the japanese music, but its all the original episodes right?

  • @supahboyz I wouldn't really say it's like Kai in any way. The Dragon Box IS DBZ, put simply, as closely as it originally aired as possible (or at least as has ever been on home video). It's not in HD, as it's a DVD release. Kai is a re-edited, re-performed, and re-scored show using DBZ's footage as a starting point. The Dragon Boxes are the original Dragon Ball Z series, all 291 episodes (once Box 7 comes out, that is). Hope this helps.

  • @MistareFusion I meant that its the original episodes, but with hi-quality and Japanese music.

  • im getting the dragon boxes man i wish the orange bricks were full screen

  • So these dragon box's are 4:3??

  • @hypermetalsonic Yep, just as the show itself is.

  • I don't understand why they can just use the 1.78:1 or 1.85:1 Aspect Ratio? I mean you can see everytihng without any bars. They should use that format the dvd's blu-ray's and tv's.

  • @afdurrell No, you can't. Dragon Ball was shot in 1.35:1 (or 4:3). The orange bricks were presented in 1.78:1 (or 16:9). The only two ways to convert one into the other is either to stretch the image, resulting in a disproportioned image, or to crop the image (like the orange bricks), which results in losing part of the picture. There's no way to make that conversion without sacrificing the image, and there's really no reason to.

  • I prefer the colors in Remastered, the line removing only happens during intense screen shaking, I never notice it :p. Also I have a widescreen TV... the Dragon Box gets cut off anyway for me (idk maybe its just my TV) while the remastered do get the extra room on the sides. And I prefer the English voices and music, reading subtitles suck lol.

  • @TheSuperGoldenMonkey I know what you mean. But honestly, give it a try. You can listen to the English dub with Japanese music. This is easily the best way to own the series. I've been a fan since I was barely a teenager and it started airing on Toonami's midnight run.

  • @jackcarver239 I alternate between Jap and English tracks on the Remastered sets, the English tracks have better fight music while the original has better everything else... It's not the music that really makes the remastered better for me, its the color quality and resolution. The colors are sooo much better in the remastered (Vegeta and trunks look black in dragon box). And the Dragon box gets cut off anyway on my screen so I'd rather have the extra space on the sides.

  • Love the review. I'm more of an English dub fan but I've picked every single one of these as they've come out. I don't regret it at all. It's actually gotten me into watching the show in Japanese with the subs.

  • @TheSuperGoldenMonkey The Dragon Box footage shouldn't get cut off no matter what kind of TV you have unless you use the zoom "feature" to cut it off yourself. You should probably take a look at what settings are in effect on your television.

  • @JC2krazieyreborn I would say it's not surprising. I knew from day 1 they'd be re-releasing the series in a more economical form. It's just standard business practice at this point. And having the Kikuchi score became a foregone conclusion once the scandal occurred. As for that, I'm thrilled that the score I prefer is finally getting the wider audience it always deserved, but at the same time Yamamoto's score IS the score for Kai, and it pains me that the original version will no longer exist.

  • Perhaps. But I don't like them, too old school.

  • @viperrcm0214 Well, that's what DBZ is: old school. it's over 20 years old now. The manga is closing in on 30. You really can't change that without making it into a new product entirely. I'd rather it just stay what it is.

  • @viperrcm0214 Oh, you were replying to jpdbzrulz4sure, weren't you? I thought you were talking to me. As proprietor of this thread, I'm only alerted when someone makes a comment directed to me or not to anybody, so I didn't realize you guys had a convo going. But still, I think my point stands.

  • @viperrcm0214 But since you're referring specifically to the music, I'll just weigh in by saying I don't think they sound "old" or "dated" at all, any more than any other use of orchestral music for fantasy series in the past 30+ years: Star Wars, Superman, Batman, Star Trek, et al. There are a few pieces in early DB that give in to the '80s synth wave that was popular at the time (usually insert songs, though) and has aged accordingly, but orchestras usually feel pretty timeless.

  • So how do you feel about dbz kai. I prefer the funamation scores. Japan doesn't know much about music.

  • @viperrcm0214

I'd say Japan knows plenty about music, considering some of the most amazing musical scores I've ever heard were done by Japanese composers. And I'm not just talking about the scores of Dragon Ball or anime in general.

And no, this has nothing to do with me being a Japan nerd (which I'm not). Even my mother will often say that Japanese-made music sounds beautiful when I play it, and she's not a fan of Japanese media.

    [cont.] Damn character limit!

  • @viperrcm0214

    [cont.]

You're entitled to your preference for the FUNimation-produced musical score of DBZ, but to say that Japan "doesn't know much about music" really couldn't be farther from the truth.

  • @supermancrashin Hey man you did 2 videos on 054martinm and how he keeps attacking people who like the english dub of Dragon Ball Z well your acting just like him. I have the Dragon Ball Z season sets as well their ok but the Dragon Boxs are better hands down. The episodes look great and the Dragon Box is one of the best box sets I have seen. Also I use to hate Kai as well but after watching it on Blu-ray it looks great has vary good music and much better writing and voice acting.

  • @supermancrashin, LOL! butthurt much? so pathetic. XD

  • @supermancrashin, LOL! that's all you got apparently, the only thing that you're telling is that you got owned! XD

  • @supermancrashin, LOL! that's it?! dude you just proved my point! you ARE immature! excuse me I going to laugh my head off!

  • @supermancrashin, I hate immature pricks like you, you can dislike Kai all you want but you should respect other people's opinions.

  • These would be perfect if they contained the English audio with the American soundtrack, not pathetic japenese flute playing.

  • @MistareFusion the season sets are pure garbage. I sold then for the dragonboxes. And I am so much happier.

  • @supermancrashin Watch this: /watch?v=pg_BPdg_4AA

Bold outlines, vibrant colours, smooth motion and not a single loss of detail. Now compare that to the season sets. It's not an opinion that Kai looks better than the season sets, it's a FACT.

  • @supermancrashin You're still avoiding the question. Which means you really don't know what Kai actually looks like and you're using this as another way to bash Kai.

  • yes the japanese score is SO much better than the american one...but chris sabat is awesome....eh its all good

  • @supermancrashin You didn't answer my question. Have you seen Dragon Ball Kai on Blu Ray? It makes a world of a difference, since the show is meant to be in HD. The only benefit of the season sets is the dub score (if you like the dub score. I personally only like the dub score from the Cell Games onwards) and the price. Apart from that, everything on the season sets is shit, from the remastering , to the packaging, to the atrocious booklet.

  • @supermancrashin Have you even watched Dragon Ball Kai on Blu-Ray. It looks fuckin' amazizn', even better than the Dragon Box.

  • @SilverZEntertainemnt I appreciate the mature level of discussion you're bringing to this comments section, but after several encounters with this kid, the phrase, "Don't feed the troll" comes to mind. If supermancrashin's stamping his feet and yelling "WRONG!" repeatedly didn't tip you off, he's not capable of actual debate or rational thought. He just has to be secure in the thought that his season sets are perfect, and everyone who criticizes them only does so in order to bring down the dub.

  • i am happy that fans of the japanese dub get their audio, but i cant help feel that funimation have missed out on some money, if they'd included all 3 audio versions more people would buy this, including me! sometimes i feel the japanese music doesnt fit with events going on in the episodes, thats just my opinion though.

  • @TheClash562

    Those are fanmade.

  • @TheClash562 How doesn't it? You asked if it was the "Ocean" or FUNi dub. Both jpdbzrulz4sure and I said it was the FUNi dub.

  • @TheClash562 Yep. What he said.

  • @TheClash562

    FUNi dub!

  • So i was wondering? In the dragon box is there any censoring? Like voice and/or censoring of violence anywhere?

  • @SacredBurn0ut Nope! It is as pure a release as possible.

  • @MistareFusion Sweeeeeeeeeeet

  • i want OCEAN DUB DVZ (No Thats Not A Typo) THUMBS UP IF U AGREE

  • Ok so if your a fan of the american verson get the season sets but if your a fan of the Japanese verson get the dragon box set cool.

  • I know you've said in the past that you're more of a fan of Dragon Ball than anime in general, but just out of curiousity, are there any anime you like besides DB? If so, which ones?

  • @jpdbzrulz4sure Hmm, let's see. I used to be a big Tenchi Muyo! fan. Geez, is that all I can think of right now?! Damn! Oh, yeah. I was pretty big into Ranma 1/2 as well, although it's been a long while since I've watched or read it.

  • The japanese sucks! The voices are shit, Goku is played by a woman, and the voices don't fit the characters. But I am completely satisfied with my Dboxes. I love FUNimation dub with the japanese BGM. But I still wish Dragon Ball fans would respect the dub a lot more.

  • @chconnol I wish american fan wankers would respect the prime japanese version more, how in the fuck would we respect the dub when your going to talk a bunch of bullshit nonsense about the japanese version.... if you think the voices don't fit then take it up with toriyama because he is the one who handpicked the voice actors and intended their voices to be like that. Son Goku sounds sick in japanese.

  • o man its has just the original Japanese music

  • 5:29 A Dreamcast logo is the sun in the Dragon Ball world?

  • The Dragon Box is far superior than the season sets, it's a shame I can't live without the dub music otherwise I would buy these in a heartbeat.

  • idk even after waching so many times the funi version. and now i waching these sets I UNDERSTAND BETTER what the y doing they explain it better

  • can u listen to the Japanese music with English VA

  • @Goku25Vegeta yeah but you just cant listen to the english music with the english va

  • @7ATLAfan oh.. lol i like the japanese music better anyway so idc about the english music lol

  • can u listen to the japanese music with english VA

  • So this has no English VA? It'd be nice if it did, but at the same time keep the original Japanese script. Hopefully they'll consider that for Blu-Ray. BRD should have enough space for both English and Japanese VA. Do that, plus keeping it all uncut and true to the Japanese version (what Dragon Box is) and I'll buy it. Otherwise, I'm not wasting my money cause it's clear to me that Funimation is milking this as much as possible before releasing a ultimate version to satisfy both sides here.

  • @SquirrelEmperor Did you watch the video? I mentioned quite extensively that it had an English audio track on there.

  • @MistareFusion since you dont like the dialogue from the original z than you must be a kai fan =]

  • @theJCninjaclan761 Actually, I love the dialogue from the original Z. It's the dialogue from the terribly inaccurate English dub of Z that I don't like. And, no, I don't really care for Kai. Its dub is certainly much better, but I already have too many DB things to keep up with to care about a repackaged Z.

  • @SquirrelEmperor The English track is on there I am not a subbed fan any possibility of this was destroyed by Goku's Japanese VA but I really did not care for the Faulconer Score so it was a relief it only had the Jap Audio. The only thing that i dont like is how its defaulted to the Jap track and that so far it looks like the Tv specials are not going to be included that is not definite yet maybe we will get an awesome suprise. As for my little gripe it takes 20 secs to change the Audio.

  • @SquirrelEmperor Also the fact you can change the audio while your watching it makes this negative even more minut. I cant wait to finish this set and Kai and hopefully we have more Dboxes in the future for Dragon Ball the movies and id even buy one for GT lol even though that show is god awful

  • I'm a dub fan and this is AMERICA! lolol I love that anyway great review. I hate I spent all that money on the season sets but hey nobody knew this was coming out back then. I'll still probably buy at least one of the dragon boxes

  • this really helped me choose!

  • Do you like Bruce Falconer at all?

  • @shaneymane15 Well, I can't speak for him as a person, nor can I speak for his work outside of DBZ, as I am unfamiliar with both. But as far as Faulconer Productions' score for DBZ goes, there's really not much I can ever remember really liking.

  • great review, love the comedy in the commentry, & this gives very accurate details on both the season sets & dragonbox's. 10/10 ;)

  • @darky0169 Thanks very much! ^_^

  • Hi! its me again sorry to trouble you with so many questions but if you don't mind I just have a few more. I am buying the dragon boxes. 1) If I watch the dragon box in english dub will it have the episode previews and all of that? (I hope it does, even if it's not in english) 2) Do you know if the dragon ball season sets were made the same way that the DBZ ones were? 3) I have heard that the dragon boxes include the movies, is this true? 4) Do you know if there will be dragonball dragon boxes?

  • @RWEISS55 1. Only if you set the menu to Japanese and then use your DVD remote to switch to English while watching. Otherwise, previews are only shown during the Japanese track. 2. No, the DB sets were quite a bit better, fixing most of the glaring errors from the Z sets. 3. Nope. 4. I don't know. There's been no word from FUNimation. Hopefully.

  • thanks, but i have all the seasons for all 3 series ( even GT ) Do you think I should buy the dragon boxes ? if so, should i add them to my collection or sell the seasons and buy the dragon boxes. Please keep in mind that I am a fan of the Dub

  • @RWEISS55 Well, like you said, you're a fan of the dub who doesn't care about the English music, thus negating the ONLY thing that could possibly ever be considered an advantage of the season sets. As for what you should keep and sell, that's up to you and how much money you have to spend, how fascinated you are with collecting things, etc.

  • @MistareFusion thank you very much for your help and advice, sorry but I have just 1 more question. Is there a big difference in video quality ?

  • @RWEISS55 Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. The season sets are of TERRIBLE video quality, and I don't say this as a fan of Dragon Ball. I say this as an afficionado of film in general. If you haven't checked out my review of the second box, I do have... eh, only a couple of comparison images. Searching around DB message boards, particularly DaizenshuuEX, will yield dozens of comparison images.

  • @MistareFusion Thank you once again for all of your help and advice

  • @RWEISS55 You're welcome. Glad I could help.

  • how many dragon boxes will there be ? I am a fan of the English dub, however I don't really care that much about the English music, should I sell my seasons and get these ? Will there be Dragonball: Dragon Boxes ? Does anyone know how much people would pay for the seasons ? I know it's a lot of questions, please reply

  • @RWEISS55 Let's see. Seven. Definitely. Hopefully. And I don't know. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching. ^_^

  • I was just wondering if they say the names the american way if you put the english dialogue on. Like do they say Tien and Krillin or the actual japanese names

  • @rdathelete The script of the English dub is the same it's always been, so, yeah, they say the "American" names.

  • @MistareFusion Ok thanks it would be too weird if they used the japanes. I like the dub but i think the original japanese music is better than the english dub music.

  • @supermancrashin For me, I don't have a problem with the colours, it's the lack of detail and the missing lines that irritates the living fuck out of me. I like Bruce Faulconer too, but to be completely honest, he's really overrated.

  • may i ask why you dont like the dub i know its not what there actually saying but it still has the same point to it i can speak japanese and i prefer the dub and the subtitles arent always right :D

  • @BillyTheWog1 I can speak some Japanese too, and I've never detected anything wrong with the subtitles, and I trust Steve Simmons. And even allowing an occasional goof, that would make it nowhere near as inaccurate as the English script. But even if the dub was perfect and not a complete mess (which it is), I still wouldn't care. As much as detractors like to twist the word into something bad, I am a "purist" and prefer to watch everything in its original form no matter where it came from.

  • @MistareFusion Just because you prefer the original Japanese audio doesn't mean anything a person can be a dub fan and be way more of a fan of the franchise than you so don't think you are a bigger fan than me

  • @BillyTheWog1 I really don't like people putting words in my mouth. You asked me a question. I was nice enough to answer it to the best of my ability. And nowhere in that response did I say or imply anything about who's a "better" fan. So did you ask this question because you were actually interested in my opinion, or did you just want to me to say I thought the DBZ dub was terrible so you could feel justified in picking a fight with me? I have no interest in debating who's a "bigger" fan.

  • @MistareFusion U said u were q purist that is claiming ur q bigger fan than me some one can be a purist and lie the dub

  • @BillyTheWog1 Well, despite my explicitly trying to prevent it, you too seem to want to twist the word "purist" into something it doesn't remotely mean...

  • @MistareFusion Ehh anyway what do you think about dragon ball Kai??

  • Comment removed

  • @jpdbzrulz4sure Last time I checked you werent in this conversion so fuck off please ;D

  • @BillyTheWog1

Eh, whatever. I don't like talking to trolls, anyway.

  • @jpdbzrulz4sure I'm not a troll u idiot I just don't like you

  • @BillyTheWog1

    You don't even know me.

But, whatever. Do what you want. I really don't care.

  • Troll alert!!

  • @jpdbzrulz4sure Indeed...

  • special beam cannon lol

  • if only this had Edub music...i would buy in a sec

  • I want a new DBZ series but I'm not a fan of Japenese voices (there god awful to be honest). I'm American and grew up watching on cartoon network so for me, the English audio is the real deal. And I want the real deal. I want Chris Sabat as Vegeta, I want Sean Schemmel as Goku etc. I'm guessing this box set isn't for me?

  • @AtlantaSportsFan Both Sean Schemmel and Chris Sabat are consistently Goku and Vegeta, respectively, on the English audio option on the DBoxes, so that's up to you.

  • if u want to see exactly what u saw on cn get the original singles by pioneer and funi with 276 ep like i did.whatevr happens dont buy the remastered.they suck.get the dragon box only if u like the original jap voices and music else its a waste cuz eng voices dont blend with jap music.if u want accurate dub get kai.as for me i have got all the singles dvds.im currently buying kai

  • Is FUNimation releasing Dragon Boxes for DB, DBGT, and The Movies.

  • @JDB012993 I certainly hope they do, but there's been no word on anything other than Z. In their original press release, they said they had the masters for the Z movies, but they haven't said anything about it since then, and that was a year and a half ago.

  • @MistareFusion Oh, I get the first Dragon Box Tuesday, 2/8/11, I can't wait!

  • this sets full frame so if i wer to play this on my wide screen tv i would get the 2 black bars on the side of my tv right ?

  • @laylowtech Indeed. AS GOD INTENDED for a television show made in this era.

  • lol...and i just finnished my orange box collection....

    should have bought these :(
