This "Hellfest" is not the same as the American Hellfest. This one is somewhere in France if my memory serves correctly. The US Hellfest was based around Hardcore therefore it being nuts with tons of stage dives and dancing and what not.

I've seen Converge a few times and their sound is kinda roary and mushy and white-noisy, which can be hard for me to enjoy. BUT having said that, you can totally tell how into they are and that enthusiasm goes a looong way. The crowd totally gives back. It's fun. ...and Kurt Ballou is my hero. God that guy rocks.

Hellfest stopped being a "hardcore" show the year before. This is from the Hellfest in France...the one with mostly metal bands...because its a metal show.

the official videoc for no heroes has some good shots of their drummer. their drummer is one of the finest in hardcore. seriously if you've heard no heroes you'll know just how much the drumming stands out. it sounds quite blurred in this video, but the album version is brutal and will be an inspiration to many new drummers in hardcore.

When they toured together, the Mastodon guys were playing these ridiculous custom Gibsons, like a silverburst V with Block inlays and etc. When I saw Doomriders the other day, Nate was playing a fireburst Gibson V.
