Interesting tidbit from the trial that just finished. The Giants equipment manager testified that Barry's hat size went from 7 1/8 when he joined the team o 7 3/8 when he retired (or more accurately was blackballed from the sport). That is a marginal increase and is pretty much proportional to the amount of weight he put on. Interesting tidbit from the trial that just finished. The Giants equipment manager testified that Barry's hat size went from 7 1/8 when he joined the team o 7 3/8 when he retired (or more accurately was blackballed from the sport). That is a marginal increase and is pretty much proportional to the amount of weight he put on. I'm not saying he didn't take HGH or anything but the bigger head thing is an optical illusion caused by his weight gain.

We’re really talking about one guy – Barry Bonds – and all I can say about that is go look at Hank Aaron’s HR totals as he aged. He actually picked up quite a bit in his late 30′s and nobody is accusing him of steroids. Roids or no, Bonds was special.

Bonds is a fraud and a disgrace. naturally he would have been a great player much like Ken Griffey Jr. but he took the route and cheated the only people that he is the homerun king of are people like jose canseco, mark mccgwire, and sammy sosa. Bonds was not even close to the league that greats like Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays were in. barry bonds is a joke.

You do know that lots of those greats- Aaron, Mays, Williams, Mantle- had access to "Greenies"- aka amphetamines- brewed up in the clubhouse coffee pot right? Jeter is a leader who can pump up the team in a big game, bonds would just care about himself and his homeruns while jeter would dive into the stands and catch a foul ball. The rings speak for themself. yes you are right but none of them compare to barry because they didnt do it on this type of scale. the only example you could use is roger clemens and he is being prosecuted and hated. you didnt see greg maddux use them.

Ruth batted .342 lifetime, bonds under .300 at .298. Ruth has 300 more RBIs than bonds. Ruth slugging pct is .690 bonds is .607. No i am not plain dumb at all. bonds was a pussy who cheated the game and is not nearly as great as he would have been naturally where he would have hit 600 hrs but instead he needed this.

Everybody concentrates on the homeruns, but the roids did not help him get 8 or 10 gold gloves, or 514 career stolen bases. Even without the increase in his homerun rate after 1996, Bonds still was on pace to surpass 500 homeruns. Is there anyone else in baseball history who has 500 homeruns and 500 steals???
