Brilliant video! I just showed it to my 70 year old father who grew up in Dingle (emmigrated to London in his 20's) and his eyes welled up with pride!
great pictures, this is an amazing peninsula and such a great place to visit. We go out regularly and rent a house out there, we rent one of the Carney guest houses in Teerivane, Ballyferriter. Highly recommended.

I don't think Bono has ever been to Dingle (oops I forgot Daniel Lanois the U2 producer has been here). Why do Americans think he is such a cool dude? The music does not represent Ireland or Irish culture (It is aimed for the American market). Would I visit Dingle to see a U2 concert ? The simple answer is no. You get far better music in James Curran's Bar or John Benny's pub
@mayfair999a It's the whole romanticised "My great grandfather was Irish" thing with the Americans I think. Which is lovely, but kind of clouds their knowledge of what is actually Irish.
People that say U2's music is Irish music must think that INXS' music is native to Australia!
Fantastic place. Visit the music store opposite the main church ... I think it's just Dingle Music Store. A lovely lady runs it who supports the local artists and has her own CD for sale in there, so she knows what she's talking about. I wasn't expecting U2 music with this video though, hehe.
I was in Dingle in July- what a place would move there tomorrow if I had the chance. A shame the exchange is so bad would head back for halloween no probs. The bars & people- the best but best of all the scenery around Dingle!!.
Just got back from Ireland. The whole country was great, but our day and night in Dingle was the best part of the trip. Fun town, nice people, beautiful landscape, and a tough but beautiful golf course.
Awesome! My daughter and I did spend some time on Dingle peninsula. This video captures the beauty. I'm aching to go back. The Irish people are every bit as beautiful as the land.
DIngle, (and Ireland) what a beatiful place! I'm from Italy and was there in Ireland on the last Christmas, absolutely fantastic, and Irish people so kind! Greetings from Italy, and hope to be there again in few time!
I´ve been travelling around the Ireland last 16 days a found Dingle definitely most exciting. And of course, I have almost the same fotos(just weather was bit more sunny). ;)
St Patrick got rid of them along with the snakes but he realised later he had made a mistake and asked the chroniclers of the day to keep that bit out.
im irish from dublin. go down to dingle at least once a year, reminds me of my childhood and many summer days in an Gaelteaght . Cheers for stirring a few memories.
I heard on a TV programme called "Wild Weather" a few years ago that tropical plants and seeds have been known to cross the Atlantic from Central America and are washed ashore on the southern Irish coast!
HUG49: You're right - The Burren, on Ireland's west coast is famous for hosting plantlife from all over the world, from seeds brought in by the sea. Its unique limestone landscape allows alpine and tropical plants to flower side-by-side. Stunningly beautiful and strange - visit if you can!!
