I like your observation; that great beauty and an exceptional voice is united in Mireille Mathieu, however; she is not at all considered a beauti-queen by most French people, who have also bought less records of her than German, Japanese, Russian and few other markets.

But I've also had the same sense, as you, with the beauty and the voice. In my youth I thought she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen:-)

she is beautiful as audrey hepburn was. dalida exudes sensuality and allure hence she was beauty but mirielle is a beauty who exudes a patrician demeanor which is ironic because her song always talks of love, lust and life itself hence she is a far more compelling artist than we will ever know. only few artists can make such an impact in our lives. long live mireille!!
