I don't understand why people feel they have to add something to a poetry recording other than the poetry itself. The music is ridiculously distracting. I don't care how good the music is (I love Tom Waits, by the way), but WHY WHY WHY?

I am wondering is there ANY vid on youtube of ginsberg reading this WITHOUT the music? I've searched and every search turns up a string of videos of different picture backgrouns, ALL with Tom Waits music to accompany his reading.. would like to hear it alone.

You can download it. The song is "closing time" by Tom Waits. Someone just pasted the ginsberg audio over the top of it. I found it by looking up "Tom Waits and Allen Ginsberg/ America"

I still believe its his best album.. with this being one of his best songs, altho its often underrated..
