@cparamo How the F did Kraftwerk go from Ruckzuck to 'The Model' ? Needed a few Deutschmarks and went commercial? I can't see any other reason. But it did work, to a certain extent.

@xraycortina After Klaus Dinger left for NEU! Ralf and Florian didn't have a drummer so they used drum machines in rehearsals and hired drummers for gigs. Eventually they decided that the machines were better than the drummers and used them on albums. They still used accoustic instruments (organs, flutes) for a while but when you are using something as odd as a drum machine was in 1973 it follows to use electronic instruments as well. Then they got a hit with Autobahn, and the rest is history...

I heard and hear Hallogallo and travel to space and beyond.

Hawkwind has the same influence too me...

I have to put my two cents in. This is a trulyawesome distillation of the rock format into something entirely different. What I would have given to have heard this at the time, without the benefit of having heard the music that it influenced. It must have been like hearing the future.
