  • Horrors! HAHAHAHA!!!!

  • AMIES TANT DESSINS MARRANTS bonjour !! PISTE HALLOGALLO NOTES 0331

  • Love the ambience with the dirty cups.......

  • I'm sure this is where Joy Division got their sound.

  • @Phavonic Totally agree mate...

I say all the time that today's music wouldn't be nothing without joy division. It's the first time I listen to this band and now I have to change my speech haha. I guess today's music wouldn't be nothing without these guys :)

  • @santuka18 Love Joy Division, and yeah you're right!! :-0

  • @santuka18 meh, Joy Division is still good

  • @MisterSpinalzo Of course mate. It's a brilliant band!!! I wasn't saying that is not good :/

    I love Joy Division =)

  • @Phavonic Yes, indeed, they did.

  • SIGNIFY!!! \o/

  • @freitasnetuno lol yes

  • It´s like can´s mother sky!!

  • JUST ME!

  • cool as fook.

  • 31 people are idiots for disliking. I remember first hearing Neu on a local radio station KZUM in Nebraska on their Sunday night show "Other Music". Neu is what propelled me to becoming a Kraftwerk fan.

  • Check out Doors Unlocked and Open by Death Cab. A good song, but almost identical to this.

  • Vinyls sound way better than digital audio, even on YouTube.

  • Extraordinary...unfortunately I sold this LP to a friend about 30 years ago - and now I am excited to hear this music again...

  • this stuff makes up the milk of human kindness

  • May I add , that I think that Stereolab may have ,also been influenced by this???

  • Strange The Arm Doesn't Move?

  • @Boots59100 Or Is It Strange To Capitalize Every Letter Of The Sentence?

  • @thompson8305 just me!

  • @SuperIanrush lol you should see my kitchen

  • Good beats for the road-

  • Check out Porcupine Tree-Signify

  • Where Stereolab came from.

  • i mean raidohead were influenced, not the other way around obviously lol

  • the beginning sounds like radiohead

  • Go Krautrock!!!!

  • Flea referenced me to Neu! You know it's got to be good.

  • I`m thankful that David Bowie exists, because without him, I would not of found out about this kind of music.

  • this should be the official music video

  • I'm the 1000 *_*

  • CHAINLESS!

  • this is still the best youtube video EVER !!!!

    DANKE !!!

  • the beats remind me to ruckzuck from kraftwerk o.o

  • @rubber4soul Neu! was made up of two ex-Kraftwerk members, though neither one appeared on "Ruckzuck".

  • @cparamo ...but they are on live recordings of it!

  • @cparamo That's interesting, because there's a live performance of Ruckzuck (from ZDF-TV) on YouTube which has Klaus Dinger on drums :)

  • @cparamo How the F did Kraftwerk go from Ruckzuck to 'The Model' ? Needed a few Deutschmarks and went commercial? I can't see any other reason. But it did work, to a certain extent.

  • @xraycortina After Klaus Dinger left for NEU! Ralf and Florian didn't have a drummer so they used drum machines in rehearsals and hired drummers for gigs. Eventually they decided that the machines were better than the drummers and used them on albums. They still used accoustic instruments (organs, flutes) for a while but when you are using something as odd as a drum machine was in 1973 it follows to use electronic instruments as well. Then they got a hit with Autobahn, and the rest is history...

  • @cparamo

actually Dinger played second side of first album and played it live as well

  • @rubber4soul same producer: conny plank

  • @rubber4soul Motorik my friend. Krautrock lives by it's driving rhythm!

  • psychedelic!

  • ishkur brought me here

  • I like how youtube somehow knows this influenced Stereolab's "Jenny Ondioline". Youtube, why u so smart?

  • You, Want Drum And Bass! Listen Too NEU! Got This on open spool Tape!

  • This shit was so awesome when I first bought it @ Age nine, and nearly five years later, it still is now...

  • Just awesome. 30 years ahead of its time.

  • junkies

  • @nipitrainer Indeed, who else could make such great music

  • @MarkVll I totally agree with you.

  • thanks cparamo. stellar.

  • For the younger generation out there, this is not a new giant CD...Or is it? This was very useful along with Television's MARQUEE MOON, for toilet breaks when I used to do a live radio show...." This one goes out to Stephen Ashton in Canada"

  • @barney23 what the hell is a CD

  • Im 18 and this is my first time hearing of NEU! Im literally in awe and so eager to find more.... right after i listen to this through one more time :)

  • @Azz3r16 i'm a 267 year old Alien from Uranus and I listen to Can.

  • räum mal den Raum auf ;D

  • how would you call this music style? it´s great - taking me back from modern techno trance times to my birth when obviously there existed cool music beneath Beatles and Udo Jürgens :-)

  • @Pobratsche

    the genre is called krautrock

  • This is giving me convulsions in my right leg! It's so damn rolling! :)

  • compare this to the new track "Morning Mr. Magpie" by Radiohead

  • Bare with me on this. Every

  • Michael Rother rocks!

  • primal scream "shoot speed/kill light", anybody???

  • I cant stop listening to this track ....fukn awesome!

  • ......

  • Anyone else reminded of Cherub Rock at the beginning?

  • @BeekersSqueakers Hey there Cecil, this came out 20 years before Cherub Rock.

  • @BeekersSqueakers Last.Fm?

  • @hollabackitsobi What about it?

  • @BeekersSqueakers Actually made me think of Stereolab's "Jenny Ondioline"...

  • @BeekersSqueakers Good call.

  • Bought this album when it hit the UK shops in '72.....I'm listening here 'cos my copy is scratched to fuck.....Still in my top 5 all time greats!!!

  • 'We are the 801, We are the central shaft....."

  • Fuckin A. man...

    or another letter

  • MEN NO HORSES

  • Uno dei miei primi trip...Sigh!Sono passati 40 anni ma questo sound è sempre vispo.

  • this sends me into a bit of a hypnotic state ????

  • What makes the wacka wacka wacka noise. I'm undecided. Is it a bass. My mate thinks it's something else ?

  • first guess was a palm-muted guitar but its kraut rock it could be a guy draggin a stick on a wall

  • @sudam666

Pretty sure it's palm mute and vigorous, hot wah pedal action.

  • Neu was & still is new thanks for the upload good to see peeps getting educsated here.

  • Yes, one of the best no doubt, this was such a fantastic song. It was so ahead of its time that if it came out tomorrow, I would still think it was ahead.

  • Great tune

  • As others have said... How have I missed this... I'm 36, and various friends have been telling me to check out Neu for the last 15 years, and this is the 1st Neu song I've listened to . Isn't it just fucking brilliant?

  • Further proof there are at least 21 morons in the world.

  • Discovering Neu! for the first time... This song is bloody addictive! :D

  • Just heard this on 6 Music. Brilliant!

  • MEN NO HORSES

  • Crikey.....never heard this before.....This is phenomenal !

  • you would think a 10 minute long song with no chord changes would be boring, but these gentlemen managed to figure something out.

  • @Kinshasa9200 thumbs up

  • wish i had this on vinyl

  • You can hear Ultravox and Joy Division in this

  • this video has helped me on may a long bus journey home :)

  • Das bringt dich an einen anderen Ort....

    Takes you to another place...

  • NEU! is definitely one of many artists that truly influence my life. Remember kids to buy the box, great music, lots of info in a nice container !

  • pierino la peste!!!!!!

  • Klassik Krautrock.

    Beautiful vinyl.

    The mighty BRAIN label.

    Pre-punk Artwork.

    What more can I say?

  • Jesus, thank god for my music class, I love my teacher. I remember I had heard this song in a billy idol concert when the band was setting up, thought id never know the name of the song, but I do now and love it!

  • @RippedSupreme My God you have a good teacher!

  • One chord for almost 10 minutes, and it never gets dull. Love it.

  • ALT!

  • I love kraftwerk

    I love Neu

I love this song. it's great writing music, because it's so nice and ambient. <3

  • And yep, Jenny Ondioline, of course. ;)

  • My God, Stereolab! c. Mars Audiac Quintet. Hilarious snatch!

  • Smashing Pumpkins totally ripped this off on Cherub Rock.

  • @Polyfusia SOOO true!!!!

  • That's a very interesting sound... it looks endless, it could just be played infinitely without boring anyone's ears.

  • genial! erinnert mich an "alte" Zeiten

  • If you like this try Can, especially "Tago Mago"

  • this is simple, direct and beautiful free from any bullshit - and its actually made the sun come out on a dull rainy day in england :)

  • Lets float...

    DIe geile Endlosberieselung.

Spielen sie bei uns im Elli-Markt!

    Kein Witz!.

    I love shopping now.

    Zitat von Colle:

Du weißt , dass du alt wirst, wenn dir die Musik im Supermarkt besser gefällt, als die Sounds aus der Disco.

    Kein Witz: HallaoGallo ist unsterblich.

  • holy motorik batman!

  • extrimly tripable, very strong wings,

  • I've read so much about Neu being an influence to many of the new-wave, electronica and ambient artists, but never heard their stuff. Now I know why people want to emulate this group. Thanks.

  • I can't believe you have that on vinyl. So jealous. I just did a cycling vid with Neu! -Hero. Titled it Hallo Gallo after this song which is another fave. They were sooo ahead of their time. :)

  • Pretty good! Reminds me of the Silver Apples.

  • A. Holy crap 1972! is damn right...

    B. YES! 1996 ETK by Stereolab! @SalaDeEnsayoXanadu you nailed it!!!!

  • Wwwwoooowww

  • German art...

...that stuff inspired Iggy, Bono and David Bowie!

  • @bimmelbammel1000

Mach Dir keine Sorgen! Ein einfacher MP3-Player und wir können unsere Musik und NEU hören, so oft wir noch wollen. Und das werde ich; bis zum letzen Atemzug. :-)

Mit lieben Grüßen aus dem (noch nicht ganz so hohen Norden)

    Uwe

  • Reminds me of "Emperor Tomato Ketchup", Stereolab, 1996

  • @juXlopes listen to: Janne Ondioline from the album "Transient Random Noise Bursts with Announcementes"

  • @SalaDeEnsayoXanadu its trueee.............. Im going to find some Neu records now, but I still have feelings for Stereolab!

  • Excellent record, but the tracking weight of the stylus on those lower end turntables are actually really hard on vinyl. Not something I would use to play something as rare and valuable as an original Brain/Metronome pressing of that album.

  • Krautrock.. a revolution!

  • For about 2 hours,starts Hallogallo 2010 pres.Neu in Stavanger,Norway.

I will be there. And I am fuckin glad because of.

  • RESPECT TO NEU! RIGHT NOW!

  • Space rock at its best

  • Looks like this is where Stereolab got their "Jerry Ondioline" from.

  • @jamesspeculator exactly

  • can definitely hear national anthem and bodysnatchers by radiohead. awesome!

  • can really see where bowie's 'berlin' influence came from, this is amazing!

  • Ocap sav y gaschin a ut drema

  • Werrh

  • Saw Hallogallo in a night time open air concert few weeks ago. Dazzling. Minimalist glory.

  • Mi piacciono moltissimo,a ricordo dei miei 20 anni.Era l'anno 1975,come dimenticare?

  • Reminds me a bit of Hawkwind

  • Am 41, loved Kraftwerk my entire life.

Today, unbelievably, is my first listen to NEU!

    Freakin beautiful!

I think, I can hear the Beatles...

I will be listening to this forever...

  • @catdad11 i hate the beatles.

  • @catdad11

I am 52 now; i was a 16 year old boy when i bought this vinyl NEU- Hallogallo. And it changed and influenced my life....till today.

I heard and hear Hallogallo and travel to space and beyond.

Hawkwind has the same influence too me...

    With kind regards from Germany..

    Uwe

  • @UweFromLowerSaxony Uwe all the best from Canada , I am 43 and I was 10 when I heard Neu first time at german radio station , Cheers and long life!

  • @catdad11

If you like this, go and check out the song's (Immer Wieder is my favorite) on Harmonia's album called "Harmonia DeLuxe". It's from the same era and equally brilliant, I'd say.

  • @deloreanschuur

Harmonia was a collaboration between one half of Neu! and the band Cluster, who are equally awesome.

  • @catdad11 3 months ago . . .

Ha ha ha ha, yes, how have we missed this all our lives? Almost 40 years old, and I can hear oh so many things in it. It's so obvious now that Secret Machines ripped 'em off to pieces with almost every guitar line, but I don't hold it against 'em, cos now Ben Curtis has come full circle. :)

    Sepher x x x ;)

  • what equipment do you use to get it to sound so good on you tube

  • brilliant

  • nice cups

  • Another great Album! I have this on open spool tape!

  • this is great i never heard of neu, until i saw the bbc 4 krautrock documentary.

love the music. love the video:old lp player and some cups of coffee.

  • Oh my lord, this just... is amazing.

  • I have to put my two cents in. This is a trulyawesome distillation of the rock format into something entirely different. What I would have given to have heard this at the time, without the benefit of having heard the music that it influenced. It must have been like hearing the future. I like to think that I would have been right there with them, and not a philistine.

  • Big!

  • awesome, love this song

  • Great drums, brilliant feel and sound. Known as a 'Motorik beat '(German for good driving) meaning a relentless rhythm. Fabulous!

  • every time when I hear Neu! I shoot myself for quitting playing drums

  • it's totally awesome!

    really inspired!!!!
