  • i am amazed how much he can remember, and the level of accuracy, or detail.

  • Thank you deeply for the post

  • Can't help but feel deeply sad he's dead (not inside me, he's not)... I grew up with Mr. Miyagi and he'll always be in my heart. Such a wise man and always putting things to rights in the best possible way ever. LONG LIVE MR. MIYAGI. We'll never forget you.

  • Pat morita died when he's 73years old

  • RIP PAT MORITA

  • Waw he was involved in some hefty technoligcal stuff, did not know.

  • RIP

24 November 2005, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (natural causes)

  • That door-bell bit was funny, complete with Pat's "hello!" thrown in XD

In all seriousness, thanks for putting this up. It's fascinating to hear this, especially considering he might have been a doctor or computer tech.

  • ma quanto dura questa intervista?? o_o

  • He was as good as Carlin.

    I miss them both.

  • @wdchefdave56 He Kinda Sounded a little bit like George Carlin

  • hahahha.

His Japanese parents opened a Chinese Restaraunt.

Now Chinese will open a Japanese Restaraunt to make more money. Times change I guess.

  • haha ya

  • meant to say put on a foreign english accent

  • He's one of my heros.

  • omg, he really looks white!!

i thought he was full blood asian like mr miyagi

  • His parents were Japanese immigrants, he just grew up in America.

  • Im not sure you listened to the interview, He said that he was born in Ailton, California, and last time I checked, that was in USA. So he didnt just grow up in America, he was born in America...

  • @Yeibear Ya he was Nisei or second generation American of Japanese decent.

  • R.I.P. Mr. Morita

  • I'm so glad this interview was done. It's so interesting to listen about his life. What a neat guy.

  • lol door bell!

  • He'll always be my Mr. Miyagi for Karate Kid part 1-3.

  • RIP Peace Mr.noriyuke You you where a Great man. Never for get you.

  • he has to be one of the best actors of all time

  • he's so polite! i love it. he didn't really have an accent...which not a lot of people know. but he's going to always be Mr.Miyagi to me!!

  • He doesn't have an accent because he was born in California. I guess everyone expected him to sound just like Mr. Miyagi, who was born in Okinawa, but nope.

  • You get the "accent" from the sound of people around you. Politeness is the first social rule with Asians. It's part of benevolence, the first confucean value followed by courtoisy.

  • Yeah, in the movie "The Next Karate Kid", Julie-san told Mr. Myagi that he can't even speak English, I actually grew up thinking he had an accent until I saw this video of his interview.

  • he is so wonderful to hear. I think more people need to know that his interview exists on Youtube.

  • jeez this whole thing is long as hell.

im gonna be here all night

  • Tuan Is Black

  • when was this recorded?

  • It was recorded on October 13, 2000.
