I saw it, and was acually in it swinging back and forth when some fellers came up and ordered us out like they were in charge - turns out the guys that were organizing rides in it didnt even know it was a trebuchet, Upon reflection i knew something was fishy (as an engineer at Boeing) it didnt seem very ride like, and not suitable for humans to ride on.
either way I wasnt dogging the Treb, it woks well, its the video that blows. Didnt you guys launch anything during the day?

first of all, if the guy organizing "rides" in it didnt know it was a trebuchet, then it wasnt the guy who built it. (this same trebuchet was used in a volkswagen commercial!)
-no launching happened until AFTER the burning man event.
the video is better than seeing nothing at all.
can't you gather the excitement from the crowd's reactions??

...and, on a personal note, yes, i too wish this video was better, like during the day so we could see what was going on...
but if it happened during the day, then the following shot using the Flaming Upright Piano would not have been nearly as grand as it was (you should check That video out!)
...all in all, what are you going to do? that is what happened in life, and thats what was captured! enojoy
