what a terrible way to install a heat sink.... always tin aka smear a light coat then wipe it off. use a powder free latex glove and smear just enough past on so you can still read the heat spreader on the processor, torque the heat sink down equally in a cross pattern. I bet you would drop the idle temps of that system 5 to 10 degrees.
@WhatiDoWhenBoredv2 That's a stupid question, of course not! Computers won't be able to run pacman for the next 20 - 30 years when they will be 100 times more expensive and 10 times larger!
never mount anything in a pci slot while the pc is standing! the pc could tip over, or the pci port could break, if you loose control of the gfx. always lay the computer down!
is it better to have the power supply on the bottom or top. i assume if it was on the bottom the heat from it will rise up into the main area. i just want you to clarify this for me thanks
@Reggis420 Not too mention the i7 is probably the most expensive thing in the computer, when it was made with the graphics card being a close 2nd. And you could always just go with an AMD processor, atm their best one (1100T) is running only $200.
why would people come on these guys page just to criticise them and brag about how much better their rig is. NO ONE CARES. make your own video. i think these guys do good work.
too much power for that computer + the wire management sucks !! my computer has a better wire management and my power supply is not modular : processor : I7 920 @ 2.66 Ghz + 4 GB DDR3 from Corsair + HIS ATI Radeon HD4870X2 2GB DDR5 2x 256-bit video card + Vantec ION2+ VAN 600W power supply + Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4 motherboard + Cooler ZEROtherm CORE92 processor air cooler and it works perfectly, and this is the third year since I have it. Next time try to do it better ;) and try water cooling
@joefaetheblock You don't really need a static wrist band to avoid esd, just make sure your touching the case alot and touch the metal pins of a socket. And ofcourse don't wear nylon, wool etc etc. It has the same effect as a wrist band.
@MrIdontknowanyname wtf? for what? gaming? video editing? watching porn? you cant just randomly comment "is my specs good?" on a video. also, its "are my specs good?". and your specs are only good for surfing the net, word and easy stuff. get a new pc. how old is it? 6 years? 5?
@MrIdontknowanyname you should build a new pc, my dads pc has almost the same specs, he decided to just upgrade it up to 4gb ram and a new 1tb hard drive. but he's not planning on playing video games on it. you should build a new one. tell me your budget, and i could recommend you some parts.
I just built my rig recently, Phenom2 x6@3GHz, OCing as soon as I quit being lazy and install the xigmatek HDP heat unit I got for it... 8GB DDR3 1333, OCing as son as warranty wears off.. and GTX470, all in the NZXT Phantom case, runs everyth9ing I want it to.. price was around 900 or so
its just a good rig.... far away from being the ultimate one.... + besides its not ultimate synthesis i dont aggree general about the component matching... think its a not so good waste of money...
@fearfulAC130 In video games? You don't want one to bottleneck the other too much, so they should be well matched. However, a video card is more important for video game graphics.
Well, Its a nice setup. But its by no means an Ultimate pc.
The pc I built for my office is higher spec.
You spent a lot of cash on some pretty peices, and then thew a junk ass i7 in there. And was that triple channel memory with a dual channel cpu controller ?

@DanSNorth you seem to know nothing about i7s if you think they are garbage...... my 920 is overkill for every day tasks and gaming. He isn't its not like he's going to put dual Xeon's or a magny cours in a home computer.......
@DanSNorth lol, you seem to know nothing about home computing demands, its a gaming computer not a high power work station, its not like hes going to put dual Xeons or some freaking G34 in it. I assure you he is not doing Scalable Fluid Simulation using Anisotropic Turbulence Particles, or some insane workload, he will be fine with what he bought.
Wondering why you are not installing a second video card and no sign of a sound card. If this is supposed to be an ultimate system I'd think you'd be going SLi and using a PCI-e Creative Fatality card.
is evga a trustable brand for motherboards and video cards? btw...i am 13 years and wish to learn and assemble comps. i cant be watching videos and learning. thats part of it. i need a real pc to deal with. know any good place to learn? where did u guys start??
@manchesterfc007 EVGA is top notch. You also get a 90day step-up program with each graphics card you buy which basically means that if you for example buy a good card X now for 200$, but a better card Y(300$) comes out in a 90-day period from your purchase you can send back card X+100$ in exchange for card Y. I'm not sure that you get a full 100% price cut-off but it won't be much less if I'm wrong.
Google/youtube for graphic card reviews before your purchase, it helps a lot on your decission.
not gunna lie, thats sweet, this is NOT for people to LEARN how to build a computer, go to other videos if you want that, tis is just them demonstrating because they are building from the VERY bare bones and i mean BARE bones, these computer parts are so advanced and delicate they have to be built afterwards, sciguy14 you chat our your ass :)
So how can I upgrade to a good gaming computer? I want to get this processor AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor ADX640WFGMBOX
This mobo Biostar A770E ATX AMD Socket AM2+ Motherboard with 4xDDR2, LAN, Audio and a geforce 460 gtx cyclone graphics card all that into a Dell precision 670 with 3 gig of ram does that sound good or what else should I get in the same kinda price range?
I spent this weekend relearning(from childhood) all about computer components and the potential of a custom-built computer..and now I see the utterly RETARDEDNESS of my buying of a mac, or spending any large amount of money when such an epitome of a computer could be built with less money...why doesn't everyone make their own computer?

Ya i mean both methods are equally good. Using the credit card and a pea blot. For the AMD CPUS you need to spread it, the temp sensors on AMDS are historically erratic and its best to spread on a AMD. Intels r pretty good at temp sets and spreading it as you apply the CPU cooler is also great.
I plan on, one day, building my own like this. Currently I run a Dual Core @3.0GHz Stock, on a P5Q-EM with 6GB 1GHz RAM. I've got a crappy nVidia 9600GT for graphics, and an age old 230w power supply. Yes, you read correctly, 230w. No choice but to use it though XD
I plan on a EVGA Classified board with an i7, probably the cheapest you can get though because I'm not one that has money to burn.
Nice video, pretty much exactly the same as my pc. Could you please explain in a video on how to overclock the X58 with the 930x. To make it run at that 3.2Ghz.
@pokemezz Try building a computer while filming every little detail (often many times over and from different angles) and tell me how long it takes you. How long it takes to put together is meaningless. I'd much rather build it over several hours and have it turn out really nice, than build it quickly and have it look like crap. Also, the LED polarities weren't marked on the board so I had to check the book. You probably would've just plugged it in backwards during your speed-build.
The heat spreaders on your RAM modules are massive!!!!

They didnt even spread the thermal paste -____-
hibbijo 1 year ago
@hibbijo That's the best way to apply it.
sciguy14 1 year ago
@sciguy14 Hm. I've always been told and seen to spread it. But looks like you have more experience with this stuff than I do so :P
hibbijo 1 year ago
@hibbijo

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BUILD!
Anyways, I love your build!

Hi Guys
Nice video, pretty much exactly the same as my pc. Could you please explain in a video on how to overclock the X58 with the 930x. To make it run at that 3.2Ghz.
Thanks
productfeedback 1 year ago
@productfeedback 3.4 GHz, I turned up the voltage just a little bit, and just raised the bus speed. I also adjusted the RAM timing.

2 Ugly GEEKS FAIL AT what they should do BEST
pokemezz 1 year ago
Complete newbs, i can build that in 1hour and the end result > then this crap >.> they look at manual to plug power reset and USB ROFL XD
pokemezz 1 year ago
@pokemezz Try building a computer while filming every little detail (often many times over and from different angles) and tell me how long it takes you. How long it takes to put together is meaningless. I'd much rather build it over several hours and have it turn out really nice, than build it quickly and have it look like crap. Also, the LED polarities weren't marked on the board so I had to check the book. You probably would've just plugged it in backwards during your speed-build.

@sciguy14 I hate people that think they're better than others.

Epic win. How much did this cost? I would guess something like $4000 or so.
I kind of want to build one of these.

@xenarian closer to 15 or 1600.

That is some weird looking ram.

Isn't it easier if you install the pci-e card with the PC lying down?
And how long did this take in real time? :D
Anyway, awesome comp, nice vid :)
Chruzha 1 year ago
@Chruzha Around 5 hours in real time. But that also included filming the thermal paste tutorial.
