@andreking84 an arm and a fucking leg! I got a good deal on a '96 Fortress (not the rock bass) for $600 and it still plays and sounds like the same $2,400 bass it was when it was new. I found it on Craig's list after a few weeks of looking for something like it. Despite having to do some maintenance it is still a terribly sick bass
@Sirencitybass o ok kool deal, the only reason why i was thinking about geting one was because i seen jermain from jackson 5 playing one in LA in that bass sounded really good and i just was checking them out thanks for the reply!
Just recently got one of these just to have and I have to say they're a solid little bass probalby one of the best bang for the buck out there under a 1000.Could this dude put any less effort in his demo?!haha
@KateZRule91 use don't get what you mean but yeah I have a rock bass looks just like this and is worth about $1500 so don't try and diss it beats have any other bass unless it's a more expensive Warwick o yeah I hate fender bass
This does not do the bass justice I have a 4string Warwick rockbass se and it sounds beutiful but then again it's a costume made one lol gotta love rich people who buy basses and don't know how to play them so sells them lol
Their build quality suffers, why should you have to spend a fortune on a warwick to get a good one with a tight neck joint, and electronics that dont hum? And why do these $1000 basses suffer from neck warp? Warwick makes some amazing basses but not for the money and certainly not below the $1500 mark. If you are on a budget get a nice used streamer m, they usually run well below a grand.
- dude it's not hard to look up warwick bass at google and there you go.... also almost all their basses come in a left hand version or fretless with no extra fee...
tis easy slap the string with ur thumb, you just hit it with the knuckle and let ur thumb bounce off. there are lots of videos on here about how to do it. its pretty easy really, just takes a little while for it to become second nature.
At about 9 as well as 17 seconds, what is he doing to get that double click sound? It sounds different from the double thump stuff that i've heard before...
He's using the double pluck technique. So instead of plucking with just one finger, he plucks with two(i.e. the index and middle fingers) in quick succession. However, you can use which ever two or more fingers. Use what ever feels most comfortable.
Can someone tell me if this is a corvette standard with active pickups or not? Also, I tried out a passive standard and its way cheaper, does it matter that much? Im a slap/funk player
Yup, that's a Corvette Standard, Bubinga Body, with a smokin' 18-volt active preamp and twin J-style MEC pickups.
The active basses are louder- although some contest that's not always a good thing. It's also better for recording, better for tone shaping and all round more versatile, plus Warwick's active preamps all come with a passive bypass (pull the volume knob).
In my opinion there should be no compromises in music, not for money and not for "style". Get the bass you like the most.
An active bass will give you more tonal versatility. It's pretty subjective, but most people say that passive basses can give a more "vintage" tone. Take that as you will, because tone is different for everyone you talk to.
I live in the UK and i'm looking for a Warwick Corvette Standard 5 Active preferably Bubinga, my budget is about £950 can anyone help me out as to where i might find one, of this spec for this price? i have checked most guitar websites, thanks
Love this. I'm a big Warwick fan. I have a Corvette FNA Jazzman 5-string fretted, a Corvette Standard 5-string fretless with black nylon strings, and an original 1990 Buzzard 4-string. I don't think there's any sound I can't get from one of those.
@dobs1981 I'm going out on a limb to say say the camera, not a bad camera, just a camera that can't quite pick up the lower frequencies. So it not as good quality as it can be. Its like my practice amp: sounds pretty average, and not all that impressive, and it sounds like I suck. But when I play through a actual bass amp, it sound good. Or the guy playing the Warwick could suck. Who knows?
I love the sound of these basses but i am not a fan of the Just-a-Nuts. Mine ended up having no threads left and now i have to buy a new one, and they cost $80.
i have got the 4 string model, but i cant make it slap. When i opened the back of guitar, there was a lot of empty space there. Should there be a batery?
Ive tried out that base, i didnt like it. But we all have different taste.. which is good, cause if we didnt it would be very boring to watch... when all had the same model :)
