  • What specifically do you call the little tripple popping technique he's doing at around :08-:09 seconds?

  • @threeforty7 i think he is muting the D and G strings and quickly popping the G after the D and then slapping a muted E string :)

  • Ahora Mismo Actual Mente En Cuanto Esta $ ! ??? 2011

  • that bass sounds like true shit. but that amp and this dude both sound awesome. warwicks a rip-off!

  • @rererererererer2 or maybe ass hole it is the mic. until you have one stfu.

  • can any body let me know how much do a standerd warwick like the one he is playing would run new?

  • @andreking84 an arm and a fucking leg! I got a good deal on a '96 Fortress (not the rock bass) for $600 and it still plays and sounds like the same $2,400 bass it was when it was new. I found it on Craig's list after a few weeks of looking for something like it. Despite having to do some maintenance it is still a terribly sick bass

  • @Sirencitybass o ok kool deal, the only reason why i was thinking about geting one was because i seen jermain from jackson 5 playing one in LA in that bass sounded really good and i just was checking them out thanks for the reply!

  • @andreking84 About 1200.00

  • That's my bass!!!!

  • search 'funky punk bass slap' for some more funky slap bass grooves

  • Isn't that the Bubinga version?

  • my corvette can sound like that! as long as im not playing it lol!!

  • Just recently got one of these just to have and I have to say they're a solid little bass probalby one of the best bang for the buck out there under a 1000.Could this dude put any less effort in his demo?!haha

  • slappy gilmore

  • Guitar player! XD

  • what's the song at 0:36 ?

  • @UhMysteryGuest

    The harmonics ..

  • @UhMysteryGuest The song there is a sloppy version of Donna Lee... made famous by Jaco Pastorious

  • @UhMysteryGuest My bad, Portrait of Tracy... but I'd reccomend also checking out Donna Lee

  • @KateZRule91 use don't get what you mean but yeah I have a rock bass looks just like this and is worth about $1500 so don't try and diss it beats have any other bass unless it's a more expensive Warwick o yeah I hate fender bass

  • This does not do the bass justice I have a 4string Warwick rockbass se and it sounds beutiful but then again it's a costume made one lol gotta love rich people who buy basses and don't know how to play them so sells them lol

  • @Kristopher2233 Rockbass?

its like sayin' fender does not the bass justice while you have a MIM...

  • @KatZRule91 Why don't you actually try playing a MIM? They make more than just the average standard series.

  • @KatZRule91 It can.

  • Their build quality suffers, why should you have to spend a fortune on a warwick to get a good one with a tight neck joint, and electronics that dont hum? And why do these $1000 basses suffer from neck warp? Warwick makes some amazing basses but not for the money and certainly not below the $1500 mark. If you are on a budget get a nice used streamer m, they usually run well below a grand.

  • Cheap Warwicks suck so bad.

  • @greyfoxzero Warwicks(Not RockBass)cost at least $1000.00.Cheap?Compared to a Ritter maybe!

  • this guys pretty good

  • awesome tone

  • Thats the coolest ukulele ive ever seen!

  • this bass sounds so good

  • oh man how i wanna to have one!!!!

  • this dude has a liget slap technique

  • @jeffharper47 lern tu sepll

  • @widehero " lern tu sepll! " great!! can't go wrong with it if you want to promote english language !!!

  • badass tone

  • yeah!!! its a real cool bass))

  • I thought i was the only one who uses hartkes

  • This dude has some serious slap chops.....Nice demo!

  • haha slap chop

  • lol good call

  • This guy is a beast player. Awesome chops without losing the fat pocket. That's how it should be done.

  • i dont like the way youre bitching

  • i like your attitude :D

  • i got a 4 string one of these f a police site for 500 and i love it

  • can you tell me name of the site and does it come in left handed

  • i dont know if it comes left handed tho

  • @cheesebo5

    - dude it's not hard to look up warwick bass at google and there you go.... also almost all their basses come in a left hand version or fretless with no extra fee...

  • well could be vic or marcus Miller

  • I believe it is some victor wooten stuff

  • What is the song or riffs his playing at 0.35 ?

  • i played one of these babys at guitar center and my god i loved it

  • Yeah you're supposed to write songs when trying a bass in a shop. Idiot.

  • @MothERotiz stupid

  • Gahhh! I wanna learn how to SLAP BASS soo bad :/

  • tis easy slap the string with ur thumb, you just hit it with the knuckle and let ur thumb bounce off. there are lots of videos on here about how to do it. its pretty easy really, just takes a little while for it to become second nature.

  • At about 9 as well as 17 seconds, what is he doing to get that double click sound? It sounds different from the double thump stuff that i've heard before...

  • he is muting the strings as he slaps and pops it,

  • He's using the double pluck technique. So instead of plucking with just one finger, he plucks with two(i.e. the index and middle fingers) in quick succession. However, you can use which ever two or more fingers. Use what ever feels most comfortable.

  • this bass growls.

  • does this bass have frets on it?

  • Yes it does.

  • Can someone tell me if this is a corvette standard with active pickups or not? Also, I tried out a passive standard and its way cheaper, does it matter that much? Im a slap/funk player

  • Yup, that's a Corvette Standard, Bubinga Body, with a smokin' 18-volt active preamp and twin J-style MEC pickups.

The active basses are louder- although some contest that's not always a good thing. It's also better for recording, better for tone shaping and all round more versatile, plus Warwick's active preamps all come with a passive bypass (pull the volume knob).

In my opinion there should be no compromises in music, not for money and not for "style". Get the bass you like the most.

  • An active bass will give you more tonal versatility. It's pretty subjective, but most people say that passive basses can give a more "vintage" tone. Take that as you will, because tone is different for everyone you talk to.

  • you need see my warwick corvett double w/2 mega pickup its a monster

  • fender and warwick are expensive... but warwick is the better choice... sry but i dont like the oldschool fenders...

  • this thing is built like a tank and its heavy as hell too

  • yea it is lol

  • That doesn't mean we have to play fender.

  • fuck ya it was uploaded on my birthday :-)

  • Does that mean you get a Warwick Corvette for your birthday?

  • lol i hope

  • that bass is only 400 bucks! O.o damn thats cheap as hell! lol!

  • lol they arnt 400 bucks bro not even close haha

  • risijahganja said that he wished he had 400$ for one though? hmm ill do some research and see how much they are here in australia :)

  • I live in the UK and i'm looking for a Warwick Corvette Standard 5 Active preferably Bubinga, my budget is about £950 can anyone help me out as to where i might find one, of this spec for this price? i have checked most guitar websites, thanks

  • try ebay

    good prices

    new-used

and most likely you will find something that will suit your budget

  • god i love warwicks, so god damn sexy. I wish i had the 400$ to shill out for a corvette Tanaris.

  • I love my bass!

  • wat is dat den Für`n scheiß...........???

  • des nennt man bassspielen....

  • you are talented :)

  • Sounds nice!

  • Love this. I'm a big Warwick fan. I have a Corvette FNA Jazzman 5-string fretted, a Corvette Standard 5-string fretless with black nylon strings, and an original 1990 Buzzard 4-string. I don't think there's any sound I can't get from one of those.

  • i have this bass and it's...wonderful!!!

  • damn you lucky bastard

  • What he needs is a "The fox jumped over the lazy dog" song that tests out all the bass's facets musically.

  • Or maybe the handgloves one?

  • I wish I could suck as much as this guy.

  • It's just a demo man..i'd rather this t hen those morons who just show their skills time after time..

  • @dobs1981 I'm going out on a limb to say say the camera, not a bad camera, just a camera that can't quite pick up the lower frequencies. So it not as good quality as it can be. Its like my practice amp: sounds pretty average, and not all that impressive, and it sounds like I suck. But when I play through a actual bass amp, it sound good. Or the guy playing the Warwick could suck. Who knows?

  • 1. its a bass demo 2. hes pretty damn good for just f'in around for a demo 3. learn to spell rhythm

  • the mid is perfect, amazing

  • I love the sound of these basses but i am not a fan of the Just-a-Nuts. Mine ended up having no threads left and now i have to buy a new one, and they cost $80.

  • i have got the 4 string model, but i cant make it slap. When i opened the back of guitar, there was a lot of empty space there. Should there be a batery?

  • it might be a semi hollow and if u needed a battery it would play when you plug it in so u have passive electronics

  • if the pickups say "dynamic correction" it means it's passive.

  • If it sais active MEC dynamic correction pickups, they're still passive?

  • I believe they're passive pickups with on onboard active 3-band EQ. Could be wrong.

  • The upper horn is too phallic.

  • Haha. They still sound tight.

  • Pretty sick man. I play a 4 string, and always wanted to get a 5 string, but I can never find one where the 5th string didn't sound like mud.

  • Heavier strings are supposed to help with that, also get one with a 35 inch scale.

  • Hi... if you are looking for the absolute tightest b-string, it would be the Modulus Quantum for me.

But it's a matter of taste, and they got graphite necks, plus they are not cheap.

But maybe you are only into Warwicks.

  • Ive tried out that base, i didnt like it. But we all have different taste.. which is good, cause if we didnt it would be very boring to watch... when all had the same model :)

  • why the fuck are you playing?

  • cause he is good, didnt you hear them fuck off fast slap triplets ?

  • yeh they're sick

do you know how to do them or a way i can learn how?

  • i think the technique is called Double Thumbing, and your thumb turns into a pick of sorts, and to do the triplet its THump down, thumb up and then a pop, but its hard to explain so just look up double thumbing on here and youll find heaps of videos

  • listen to Vic

  • i like that bass!!!!!

  • warwicks are so expensive and ugly that its not even funny.

  • whats a pretty good lookin bass to you?

  • ze co?

  • what is a good looking bass to you?

    like a model

  • like:

    Gretsch Guitars G6073 Electrotone Bass

Fender P bass or J bass 3 tone sunburst

Music Man Sterling HH 4-String Bass or

Music Man StingRay HH 4-String Bass

    and Hofner

  • ohh your into a diffrent style of a bass

    more of a model look

do you like the way foderas or carl thompsons look?

  • ahh man no way, i love original wood colour on bass bodies, im ordering this exact bass heheh. i fucking love carl thompsons too

  • are you mezzo?

  • idk those guitars

  • check them out

    victor wooten plays fodera

and les claypool plays carl thompsons

  • wahahah who the hell is mezzo? not me for sure.

  • Guitar Center is liquidating these basses all over America. I got this exact bass in black, brand new for 650$!!! They sell for 1,500 to 2,000$ usually. Better get one fast before they're gone!!

  • I saw this bass today for 650 at guitar center and the double buck warwick for 999. i will probably pick up the double buck!

  • Hi, I like that sound, but I can`t achieve it. Do I need some kind of effect? I have Warwick Corvette Standart bass, Warwick Profet 3.2 amp and Warwick WCA411Pro cabinet. Maybe I need better amp? Could anyone help me?

  • It's all about the settings

  • sounds pretty much like my fender jaguar

  • soooooooooo much better :P

  • bit more growly and more mid range i think

  • I just got a new 5 string for 948 at guitar center, almost 50% off!

  • Those Basses are Bloody expensive. doesnt Sir. geezer Buttler use one?

  • no i think hes yamaha or fender......

  • no Warwick yamaha are sorry..

  • what??? was that english?

  • is that active?

  • bloody hell those speakers

  • Does anyone know how to do that technique he does at 0:11 and 0:17?

  • im not quite sure, but! i think he is doing the second part to double thumping: double plucking with his index and middlefinger.

  • Nice!!!

  • im gettin the corvette basic for xmas!!!!! 5 string natural wood colour :o cant wait. any1 know what battery they need.... iv only ever had a passive bass

  • All of the actives iv ever known just use a 9v (one of those fat square batteries with the + and - on the same end)

  • thanks!!!!

  • i have an active acoustic electric bass that takes two AA batteries

  • The Aktive one got usualy 9Volt Block Batterie.

I think there are no other Batteries for Aktive Guitars or Bass.

    SNAKE69!!!

  • i gt my brand new warwick the best 9V battery there was :P

  • 9volt im pretty sure

  • way to eq the rumble out of the bass

  • A beautiful alternative from fender sound.

  • Got a 5-string Corvette (sunburst colour) Yesterday :D

  • I want that bass and Im not a bassist :P

  • Me too, and I play drums? :P They are just so fucking cool... And the sound :O OMG! Love it!

  • I play drums too but I still want this bass, even if I dont know how to play bass... PERIOD!!! :D

  • Thats the spirit. i love these basses even though ive only played them in the store. i had it goin through a hartk (whatever the spelling) cab and it sounded beautiful. and it was a 6 string bass. but it was like $1300 :(

  • im getting that bass for xmas but in natural stain colour. im sooooo happy :)

  • I sure hope thats the gear making that bass sound like shit im considering a warwick nicex playing though but it sounds awfull

  • i agree

  • I don't know if it's been asked yet, but that's the technique of playing called around 1:25-1:30 ish? It's really smooth sounding.

  • no me gusta warwick

  • a mi me gusta Warwick

  • how do you do that technique starting at 2:19? i've been trying to figure out how to do that for months

  • slap down with thumb then pop the string up with thumb followed by pop with pointer finger, but really fast. You can also add pops with middle finger and so on. Vic Wooten has an instructional on Youtube bout it.

  • watch some V. Wooten video's, atleast, I tough victor used the same technique

  • i want that bass!!

  • whats up with the eq?

  • jajaja

  • with those brass frets, that bass will LAST

  • ese tema es demarcus miller estoy seguro xD

    wen video

  • how can u review a nice bass

    from

    a hartke

  • good call.

you can review a shitty amp by playing a hartke

  • lol!

  • you cant review any bass played through an amp and cab. The only way is to do a clean di really

  • ywah

    but

    hartke are shit

    so

it makes the bass sound bad

  • sorry but your wrong I used hartke gear for years and had nothing but compliments about my sound and it never broke down and I am talking about a lot! of gigs. The only gear I have used that I prefer is EBS.
