I want to know if this boss is even possible without life drops because he is probably the hardest final boss I fought, although he was really simplistic.

With the Elixir equipped you could NOT use the ring at all.

Holy crap, thats true isn't it. So the boss can be beat without shield magic or the ring.

In the oldest versions of Ys2 (Levels maxed out at Lv28 instead of Lv50) the ring will only add about one defense point against Darm

so where do you get the roms. I am struggelling to fing the pc88 version of Silpheed but I can't find it anyware.

PC88 GAMES ARE NOT STORED IN ROM CHIPS!

THEY ARE STORED ON FLOPPY DISKS INSTEAD!

use emule and you will found some TOSEC packs.

AFAIK even in japan nobody made a video-out or vga adapter for PC88s. So you are right.

PC-8801 only use roms for booting and most software and games are storaged on some 320KB floppy disks (some vendors use a non-standard 384KB format).

For example this game is on 3 384KB floppy disks and you need one more for saving the game.
