  • Omg I gotta brush my teeth now!

  • For me the dentist lied about the treatment she said that its just a normal treatment and i didnt mind it.but then at the end she told me that it was root canal treatment.and i was like.oh ive allways tought its a painful thing.

  • "I don't want to go to the dentist mom."

  • I am having this done and I would love to see someone upload the whole procedure from start to finish.

  • hay,,i got hit in the mouth my tooth was bleeding it is little loose and it hurts when i move it and is swoolen around the tooth..i can still feel heat and cool sensitivity though, and it oy moves a little,. could i have fracured my tooth root or something please let me know a.s.a.p thanks..

  • COOL!

  • @tokerthree i know right?! i will never get a tooth pulled again, but the root canal was painless... i was awake with novacane. it was better then having it pulled.

  • I had a double root canal in on back molar but now that molar is gone cuz after the canal surgery it got infected and inflamed, when they pulled out that tooth I was still awake and was shot up with something stronger then novacane but it dissent make u anything but numb... It felt like they were pulling my skull out of my head! Lucky my wisdom teeth only are coming in on top and there is room(: so I hope I never get another tooth pulled ever in my life again!!!!!!

  • @jglabb i had the choice of having root canal and crown, or getting the tooth pulled. chose the extraction (big mistake) my god the pain.

  • i had a root canal if your getting one it dosent hurt!!!

  • i'm getting a root canal done on monday and i'm 16 and i have an anxiety dissorder, thats why i'm going to a sedation dentist. i'm still scared though that i will feel something even though theyre sedating me.

  • Man, I just got one done in Mexico not to long ago, and I saved myself TONS of money... Go to a safe border town like Piedras Negras, that's where i went and the dentist did an amazing freaken job!... I've gotten them done here in America but instead of paying 1,200 + and i think it was about 600 for the crown, I only paid 208 plus 280 for the crown... I was nervous at first but they were so professional and did a great job...

  • Now this is why they say, you must brush your teeth EVERYDAY!!

  • 5 tomorrow... Fuck My Life

  • @GeekStar3 i have to get one done on the 10th of jan next monh im so scared

  • @GeekStar3 gaah poor you:(...howd it go?

  • Am I ever sorry I watched this.......I may never got to a dentist again....

  • i think im going to have to get this done cause im having so much pain in my tooth......im worried if its going to be painfull plus i have like this fear of dentist..anyone whos been in a similar position got any advide for me? :(

  • @Sangredeazucar96 It does not hurt at all the nova cane they put on your tooth numbs that side of your face for about 5 hours. I just got it yesterday just make sure you keep up with the pain killers or you will feel pain afterwards

  • @Sangredeazucar96 ive had 3 root canels due to medication i took and was alergic to when I was young. None of the root canels hurt, simply because my dentist was an expert.. also lots of pain meds were used. :) When in doubt, more meds! (ask your dentist on the fears, its what i did!)

  • i'll need to brush more. i dnt wanna go to this kinda stuff

  • Word of advice to all of you newbies. Have your root canals done by an Endodontist, not a dentist. I have had 5 done and the one that I had done by a dentist was painful and problematic. Endodontists do root canals all day every day......that's all they do so they have more experience so you have a better outcome.

  • I'm gonna start taking better care of my teeth

  • @JordanJProd I take great care of my teeth and still needed a root canal :( I some how cracked my tooth and didn't notice until it was much too late and I had to have a root canal..

  • I had one done about a year ago under sedation as I'm a really nervious patient . When I came round there was no pain. There was a small amount of discomfort for a few days but this is because it takes a little while to settle down and was nothing compared to the pain I was experiencing from the toothache.

  • i had a bad cavity that originated from a chip in a tooth, however, it doesn't bother me a bit! it is really big, and most of my tooth is gone, however, i feel no pain, and nothing bothers it, yet, i need a root canal. w.t.f. and no, the nerve is not exposed, because i chew on that side. i don't want a root canal though.

  • @heyitsmeaperson the same thing happened to me but 6 years after i had cracked it it started bothereing me and it turned out the nerve slowly dies and causes infections so i highly recommend you get it before it infects

  • @atamgwadi thanks, and, i'm getting work done on it next week, i just can't stand denta work, though!! it's so annoying, and it always hurts even hen they give me the numbing stuff, partly because thgey have to give it to me more than once...

  • @heyitsmeaperson I don't know if it's too late, but ask for The Wand. It's the same thing as the numbing agent, the novacain, but it doesn't hurt whatsoever when they pierce your gum with it. I'm 20 and when I need novacain, that's what they use.

  • @smilesarelove111 thanks for your advice, but it was just a tad too late, but i'll be sure to use it in the future :3

  • Do root canal's hurt? My friend said yea they do. and the other said no they don't. I might have to have one done this month, so. yea. :)

  • @ChaddyDoctorWhoEEFan i got one done 2 years ago and i was only 10 and they dont hurt a bit

  • @ChaddyDoctorWhoEEFan Just had one today myself, and if you have a good dentist, and they give you plenty of anaesthetic you won't feel a thing during the procedure. It does ache afterwards though when the anaesthetic wears off, but that is easily treated with a standard analgesic like paracetamol or ibuprofen.

  • it doesnt hurts :))) when i was 14 years old i walked to my dentist with smile :)

  • Comment removed

  • when i got mine's done, it hurt like hell

  • well thanks, anestisia is available?

  • i have one does root canal hurts? pls rep

  • @cinematicsaosind lol dont worry evrythings going to be alright

  • @taydiablo1 lol , yeah i think so ! but , nooo they said that they can save my tooth , lol . i'd rather have my tooth tooken off because , i've been through it 2 times already , with my PERMANENT teeths , &like , it looks painful from what they're doing in this video , it seems like my teeth would be to sensitive to go through that ! ahhhh

  • @taydiablo1 if there adult teeth like mine lol they dont grow back and it will look better if they do the root canal removing way to fun and easy root canal took 5hrs but my dentist is funny so it was fun

  • i got mine done today and its quite sore after the anaesthetic has worn off!

  • @raintouchpad

Do you feel anything while they're doing it? Do they put you to sleep?

  • @kandixcorpse no they use a local anaesthetic injection, just a slight tingle, doesnt hurt at all. i went back for my second session and it was alot better than the first one, the dentist told me that it was cleaner and it had healed where the infection was.

  • @raintouchpad

    Oh, okay. Thanks. :]

  • root canal are a pain id rather get a implant which cost more and more easier as root canal may fail

  • OMG! KILL IT! KILL THAT SHIT

  • i got it done today . i didnt feel a thing. not even after everything,

  • im going to have that done to me to its looks pain fool

  • 0:50 ???? what the heck are they poking in him??? those monsters!!!haha

  • thank god i dont have to get one becuz i brush my teeth lol and i am smart about what i eat

  • i had it done last year the worst part is prolly the needle

  • I had my first on done Yest and i wasn't to bad. I just hated the needle part injection.

What happened was over time mine got infectd and an abeses started to form on my gum above the tooth. Thank God wakenup today with no pain :)

  • They had to put me asleep for mine I smashed my front teeth when I was a yout but the couldn't do anything until my teeth were fully grown by that time my front tooth had no feeling all the nerves died so I dont know why they put me to sleep

  • When I had my root canal, my tooth was infected and when my dentist put the needle in the root I was ready to kill my dentist, OMG it hurt like crazy and I thought I was about to die.

  • lol i had my jaw surgically broken and moved foward 1.5 inches due to overbite caused by immature lower jaw bone i was scarred too but if it get that bad see if an oral surgen can do it rater then a dentist oral surgens give you stuff that knocks you da fuck out afterwards you tripp a little i though a coke can was pink and saw 2 leprechauns fkin and when they broke my jaw i was in hospital and got morphine

  • im 12 and i am getting 2 done im sooooooo freaking scared i was scared when they were gonna fill my caveties but it didnt hurt at all only the saliva sucker which didnt hurt but like it was uncomfterble and it was right on my molar and it hurt :( lol i ended up finishing the procedure without it lol xD

  • If you let your teeth go untreated it will hurt far worse then a root canal.

  • i am 13 and i have to get it and i am scared to....i feel your pain man

  • @stupidityunitenstuff, I had a root canal. Maybe I needed more anesthetic, because a few times, for a tiny fraction of a second, I felt extreme, seering pain. Not wanting to look cowardly, I put up with it. If that happens to u, though, just raise your hand, and make the dentist stop, then ask for a further injection of anesthetic. The latest generation of anesthetics might be much improved, though, so, hopefully, u should be OK :o)

  • @stupidityunitenstuff, "searing" NOT "seering" - I always get that word wrong :p

  • guess what....I just got my root canal and it was not bad at all! they kncoked me out

  • @stupidityunitenstuff, knocked out unconscious?

  • yeah they gave me an IV and i fell asleep

    unconscious

  • @stupidityunitenstuff, ah, interesting. I read it's best to avoid general anesthetic outside of a hospital in case you have a bad reaction and need a doctor to intervene. My parents used to nag me about brushing my teeth, and forced me, on occasions, to brush them. I don't have too many fillings, but after a few problems with my teeth, I now wish I had taken more care of them. Also, best to avoid having fillings, as all - even composites - contain very harmful ingredients.

  • @stupidityunitenstuff: You would not have been unconscious even though it felt like it and you remembered nothing. It is very common to think that, although during the process you are able to respond to the dentist.

  • @1KISSHA1 fuckin hell ur 12 and need 2 root canals....im 26 and only just had my first....your teeth must suck.....stop the fizzy drinks and sweets

  • @peter226152 Your nice >:(

  • I have to get like 1 more....I should have listened to my mom and brush when I was younger e.e

  • this vid will not play for me

  • I'm 17 and have already had one root canal done. I'm scheduled for at least 2 more.

On one tooth (my farthest back molar besides my wisdom teeth, which are going to be pulled) the canals are so twisted up in the bottom (normal for a tooth, bad for a dentist though!) that my current dentist is referring me to someone else because it looks too tricky. I feel really good that he handled my other procedures, then. :/ NOT.

    Root canals=icky.

By the way, when is the term 'endodontic therapy' used?

  • The teeth is not moving! It's just the small circle mirror that they used.

  • the tooth*?

  • Doesnt the root canal provide nutrients for your teeth? so why destroy it?

  • @KathranisProductions:

"Root canal" is the name of the procedure. It's performed when the pulp of the tooth is already infected or dangerously close to it. Once you're an adult your adult teeth are done growing and the pulp serves no purpose apart from being a sensory organ. Of course the best thing would be for it to not come to a root canal, but once you get to that point it's preferable to remove the infection while preserving the rest of the tooth as a foundation rather than just pulling it

  • im sorry, I prapped off my sentence about root canal, what I meant was

"doesnt root canal take away your nutrients"

then before I wrote take, I remembered teeth, so I continued, and just ignored it..

    anyhow,

Yes, but why do I see so many kids having this?

  • Is it possible for me to have a root canal procedure while I have braces?

  • yes. consult w/ an endodontist. (root canal specialist)

  • The pulp also keeps the tooth slightly elastic, so they can absorb shock.

  • because its infected and it hurts like a bitch

  • huh. I see people with fine teeth but then do something like that

  • well i have already got one and i dont remember it hurting but i do remember the pain like a day later when i ate dinner

  • why dont drag the theet out?

  • @isaklovetilda

Then they won't make as much money ;)

There is no business in healthy people, nor in death. Somewhere in the middle they can make the money ;)

Tooth with Root Canal Treatment = free play area for all kinds of bacteria that will affect your overall health. Read the work of Doctor Weston Price

  • I actually didn't mind the feeling of the root canal, just sitting there killed me! It seems like 10 hours.

  • @sunnyboy1314 same here and i got four root canals to do so thats going to be so long!

  • just had one tonight.. ohhh they gassed me up. I actually enjoyed the experience.. no pain now either.. not even a soar jaw, only took 45 min.

  • your from the us right? your lucky, they dont give u the gas in dentists here, i love that stuff :)

  • Jesus Christ, I cant look ://

  • ałaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • brush and floss your teeth people

  • i actually got mine because i unknowingly grinded my teeth. i created a fracture thus an infection. i brush and floss religiously. so sad :(

  • It only takes an hour now for them to do a root canal. Years ago you had to go back multiple times for a few hours at a time to have the procedure done. Your jaw may be a little achey after but just take an over the counter analgesic for that.

  • oh lovely. i've had like 5 root cancal's. they don't hurt at all but watching this is disgusting. much easier staring at the ceiling.

  • i have to get 1 soon, so do they hurt even a little?

  • you'll be fine. believe me, people make it sound much worse than it really is. you won't enjoy it but you won't be in much pain at all.

  • they dont hurt NOW.... but back 02 when i had mine done i had to sit in the chair for 8 hours!!! i was getting two done at the same time... it hurt like crazy!!! but hey its better than getting them pulled out....

  • 8 hours in the chair for only 2 root canals?

wow thats shitty. that certainly isnt normal.

  • if i had a choice to get one of my none damaged tooths a root canal i would they made you feel so good with that gas omg awesome did not hurt at all. it was actlly pleasurably

  • I am glad root canal procedure didnt hurt me. I thought it was painful. I have no idea that my dentist did a root canal to me until my husband told me coz they all speak DUTCH...hahaha!!! It was a bit painful when she injected me the anesthesia. I still have to go back 2mos from now to continue the treatment. Get a good dentist if u plan to get a root canal.

  • doesnt hurt at all

had it done 3 hours ago

  • Just had my fiirst root canal today it was not at all painful or as bad as I thought it would be. My dentist was very giving with the numbing meds!! But people take care of those cavities when they first strike

  • it wont hurt if the nerve is already dead.

  • im 25 and i have had 2 of 4 that need to be done.

  • i'm 4 and i don't care

  • Im getting one more root canal! So far 2. The first one was very painful cause they didnt finnish it all at once so it was like 2 weeks after and thats when i felt the pain and i couldnt even sleep cause it was that painful and if you get it all at once, its not painful AT ALL unless if you have a good dentist person!

  • i hear they aren't painful to get the procedure done cause the nerve is dead; the pain people talk about is the god awful pain before when their tooth is literally roting and they have puss underneath it..

  • i just had a root canal today, it was more painful than anything i could think of

  • its not supposed to be painful. my dentist told me that if i felt anything to tell her and she would give me another shot. but i guess it could be painful if u let it get that far thankfully my dentist caught mine early.

  • I think it probley looks more painful then it is. I have to get my the 2nd day of school though:l

  • A few weeks ago I had extreme pain in my right mandibular molar. The dentist gave me antibiotics for the swelling and it soon calmed down.

This was the 1st time I ever had pain in this particular tooth. I thought that only people who leave painful teeth for a long time need RCs...

I went to the Dentist today and he told me that I need a RC in order to save the tooth due to an abscess, even though the tooth LOOKS fine.

Are there any other options for me, other than an extraction?

  • yea i just finished mine up today its like saw or something they're gettin the tooth isolated and they have to be quite forcful in opening the mouth sucks but get it over fo sho

  • I have to have another root canal in a few weeks...just found out..had it done before...you never get used to it...yes it hurts to a degree but its manageable...avoid if all possible...I think just having the experience is more terrifying then the actual pain....

  • thankyou that comment was slightley reasuring i also have to get one done im a little bit scared but well thats life.

  • I had my first root canal session 6 hours ago. the only thing that hurt was the anesthesia injection. which is like pushing the tip of your fingernail to your gums with medium force for about 15-20 seconds.. good luck with yours

  • Does it hurt while getting it done?

  • I had the worst toothache in my life, 3 days of constant throbbing and excruciating pain. I'm so happy I finally had a root canal and the pain is gone. The whole procedure didn't hurt at all and it took only about 30 minutes as usual =]

    I love my dentist <3

  • I had like 4 or 5 root canals and they never hurt, neither during or after the procedure. I think it's really interesting what's going on in there and I like to watch videos of root canals and how they're done.

  • i was scared shitless, i just told my dentist to give me a sedation pill i was so scared

  • i think i will have to do the same i really dont want this treatment.

  • i had it done monday and yes it is painful

  • WHen i had my root canal treatment the doctor gave me the shot but he didnt wait for the aid to be affactive. This was the biggest pain in my life. so dont forget you have to wait at least ten minutes and explain to the doctor(if he is really as stupid as mine) when he gives you the shot you have to wait at least 10 minutes!!!!!

  • same with my fucking dentist! he gives me the injection but doesn't wait for my tooth to fall asleep!! and i was in pain aswell

  • i am scared i have to do one people sey it herts people sey it doesnt can sum 1 please answer my ?

  • I just had a root canal on Fri, the actual procedure didn't hurt at all- they numb your mouth prior to the shot so that didn't even hurt. It sucked to have to keep my mouth open for an hour and a half and my jaw was sore because of that. My tooth was really bad and it was sore for a couple of days after (I grind my teeth at night so that didn't help). The pain was NOTHING compared to the pain of the infected tooth! Advil helps with the pain just fine and it is worth it to have a fixed tooth.

  • I just got my root canal done at about 3pm today and I feel fine. The worst part was the shot and that wasn't all that bad. It was just very uncomfortable. I also got my teeth cleaned and that was more uncomfortable than the root canal. I think my anesthia has worn off but I still feel no pain. I didn't feel anything and the process of actually removing the nerve and filling the hole was only 10 minutes.

  • so the root canal doesn't hurt?

  • my one hurt a bit when he jabbed the bit below the actual root. also it's rather unnerving having the dentist place the pressure on the tooth whilst filing.

  • well mine didnt hurt at all cause my doc. waited not 1 pain at all

  • thank you that makes me feel alot more better.

  • i had one a while ago it doesnt really hurt i had to get injected two times i dont kno if everyone has to go throw that though. the first shot was nothing but the second one hurt me a little bit . i have to get another one today be cause my tooth is chipped i hope my tooth is not infected....ps...........LAKERS RULE

  • i have to get one soon =[ and everyone says they hurt like hell

  • it does :x

  • Not true, the nova they give u is very strong, you won't feel a thing.

  • I had a root canal done and it wasnt that bad they numb you to the point that you wont feel anything. They even have at some dentist offices novicane that can even put you to sleep. After I had my root canal done I havent had any problems with my teeth you will be fine

  • it doesn't hurt once ur numb

  • its ok really slightly uncomfortable getting the jag but nothing that couldnt be handled, and im terrified of needles and i managed to withstand it

  • gees people l2 brush your teeth :S

  • i had a rootcanal this morning.. woah.. i realy felt the injection.. it felt like hell,, the dentist had to inject me 2 times.. grrr...

  • god humans fail, why cant our teeth just fall out and regrow every 10 years for our whole lives, baah, fix evolution plx god lawl

  • hahah i agree lol i want a redo on my teeth lol.

  • god has been dead for a couples thousand years, you know, when he gave birth to jesus

  • that patient looks like he/she has caries.

a bacterial infection which affects the pulp or surrounding areas of the nerves.

RCT seriously doesnt hurt... i just had one today and the only pain i felt was the small injection to numb me up..

its like a small scratch for like 10 seconds

    nothing tbf

  • i had one today......yea only the injection at the start....and when i got numb the destist uised a similar injection which didnt hurt at all

  • dat shit hurts so bad i just got one

  • ok if il need to get one il TOTALY be asleep but the dentist never said a word to me about it :)

  • o god plz dont have tht done i may be getting one of these this wednesday im scared for my life!!!!!!

  • how'de it go?

  • That feeling would just be so weird.

Pain aint nothing compared to knowing some dude is drilling, scraping, and putting hot things INSIDE your tooth.

Im pretty sure Im gonna get one. Im more worried about the cost!

  • lol i just had one m8....they numb your mouth 1st....the only thing you feel is the 1st injection.....that and all doesnt hurt much...it feels as if theyre dragging something on your gum.....nothing much to fear

  • I had this done last week. I literally did not feel a thing, and there was no pain whatsoever after it was done. So if you are worried... don't be.

  • For reals Bro? I gonna have it done soon. Thanks for the heads up! By the way, Was your tooth dead?

  • ya i just got a root canal 3 days ago, it only stings when you get the the numb needle's , but dont look when ur spitting you might faint :P

  • You didn't? Man I had 2 syringes of local anesthesia and nearly passed out because of the pain.

  • Was it abscessed? If it was then there's nothing they can really do for that.

  • I'm not sure, but I had that hole in my teeth for possibly years.

It hurted like hell, that's what I know

  • Yeah sounds like it was either abscessed or partially vital still. I'm a dental assistant and I've seen quite a few RCTs done so all I can offer is my sympathy and recommend you get regular exams to prevent decay from progressing from a simple filling to a root canal. Saves some suffering (though there shouldn't be much to begin with) and money.

  • haha, I had a root canal done 2 years ago. The worst part was the needle in the roof of my mouth. When ever I would drink something cold or hot, I would get a horrible pain that I have never felt before. It lasted like 2 months.

  • They melt it, Hope I don't have to get one, IMAGINE !!! melting a hole through your tooth to get to your root !! Mother Fucker that looked painful !!!

  • i had mine done and it was the most horrible experience of my life

  • omg!

    im gettting mine tomorrow!!!!

  • it dont hurt

  • that looks fucking painful

  • I just had two root canals about a month ago. Thank God for Vicadin!

  • I need one due to accumulated microtrauma from having so much work done on the tooth the latest being a crown. Is the possibility of not removing all bacteria a real concern? This will be my first root canal. The nerve is dying now my dentist said. I am ready to either pull it myself or put a bullet in my head it hurts so bad. Don't know if I can make it 'til Tues. which is 5 days from now. Does Oragel work for something like this?

  • i had one done a few days ago and holy shit they hurt so bad..worse then my wisdom

  • That's gross.

  • I just had a root canal done this morning... Mine was a result from a prior dentist who failed to remove all of the cavity before doing my filling a year ago... I have another scheduled in a few weeks from another bad filling he did. BE SURE TO GO TO A RELIABLE DENTIST FROM THE GET-GO!!!!

  • in this vidio wut is that thing in the middle of the tooth. jaw bone?

  • did it freakin hurt?

  • wow look at that hole, is it really worth not taking 2 minutes to brush your teeth? God damn
