  • Thats great info....do you have any advice to shorten ears?...I've allready ate some white socks, that don't work!!!

  • Home remedy for arthritis - Burbon

  • LOL...you can say that again!! :-)

  • my dad would make something called in french "des ponces au gin" which was probably a bit like a hot toddy but with gin... take care !

  • Never heard of a hot toddy with gin...but if it works....why not?

    Hugs~Nancy

  • Wouldn't socks of any color also work if they are on all the time?

  • LOL..you would think so but it has to be white cotton socks.

  • Good stuff Nancy! I've heard that bit about the hair but mine's too short to try it. Witch Hazel was always in the house when we were kids. I'd forgotten it. Mom used it for swelling and such too. You make me smile! :)

  • Hi Liz! Glad you watched and know about the Witch Hazel ...they're bringing it back with new bottle etc., as I guess they have found even more healing properties in it.

    Big hugs. :-)

  • ooooh Nancy, I might try a new hairstyle! lol

I'm not sure I understand the sock thing, was it just one sock, was there something impregnated in the sock? What sort of sock, it can't just be any old white sock surely!

    :)

  • I think tying the hair like that would hurt after a time...but apparently some of the stars do it..before they get their next face lift. LOL

It has to be a white cotton sock. And it has to be worn day and night for one week...we tried it on our daughter and the day it came off the wart came out plug and all inside the sock!!

    Hugs :-)

  • This was nice, Nancy. You have a pleasant manner. Thanks for sharing, Tommy. *****

  • Thanks Tommy from T&Etv for choosing this video as Pick of the Day!!

  • continued part 2. (I had a great imagination), I swear as soon as that liquid hit my eye the pain stopped, the swelling had reduced in about 3 hours,I never went to a doctor, those few drops cured it miraculously the next day my eye was perfectly normal, potatoes and warts forget it

go buy"verufil"cheap and effective with out prescription, one week their gone.thank you Nancy you always drag huge replies out of me! how do you do that,?David eye infection try the snail juice it really does works.

  • Oh my goodness David...I have a ton of snails in my garden all the time...I wonder what is in the juice that would cure an eye infection...must be some kind of natural antibiotic. What a story this is!! AND I love when I can drag long answers out of you!!! ;-)

    Big hugs & luv. :-)

  • Not only did it have an antbiotic effect, but an analgesic one as well as I recall the event today!! as my memory is replaying that event the pain went just like someone turning of a light switch, instantly.David.

  • I can't picture what part of the snail or the snail shell she got the juice out of.....but that is absolutely amazing.

  • Go get a nice big juicey snail hold the shell between thumb and forefinger,(slug part down underneath so the snail is technically upright OK)) find the highest part of the shell and prick it with a pin sowing needle, turn it upside down the liquid will come out just like eyedrops,David, if not go try another, you might have just got a dry one, sometimes that happens, afterwards you can leave the snail go, it should be harmless to the Snail, or I would not have told anyone about it

  • I believe you David..I think it is absolutely amazing!!! I'm jotting this down where I don't lose it.

Hugs to you for the information.

  • I was a small child with a terrible eye infection, my eye was swollen, and I was rubbing it constantly, and crying for hours,we lived in the country and no transport was available to take me to emergency,Grand ma,came and saw the agony I was in, she went straight out to the garden and brought in a big juicy snail, she took a pin and pierced the shell at its tip,and allowed the liquid to drip into my eye despite my screams that ""the devil was coming out of the shell too be continued.

  • kids can get lil wee white worms (pin worms i think) just by playing in the dirt if they happen to touch their face.

  • Really??? Gee, and I thought maybe the medicine was for something else and my grandmother just thought I would drink it if she told me it was because of worms...oh that is so gross!! Wonder if kids still get those things...

Thanks so much for the Information.

    Hugs

  • Yeah! Some kids I knew got them all the time. I never had them though. I hear eating fennel seeds is good for that too.

  • I don't remember having them or anybody I knew having them...but the medicine was given to me routinely...just in case.

    Hugs & Smiles, Nancy :-)

  • I must stop by and check out your channel! :-)

  • Home remedy for your Hip pain: Boil Bay leaves for twenty minutes (about 30-40) Strain, pour in a warn bath, then relax for twenty minutes... It works!

    Thanks a lot!!

    Hugs :-)

  • Hey Nancy...Lol I forgot about the worm powder. Yeah why did we have to take that stuff? Lol...I don't remember having worms either.

My hubby knows Arthur he has taken up residence in his back. We got a memory foam bed. It really helps with his pain and stiffness.

    HugZ sugar! JoJo

  • Hi JoJo! We took that worm medicine ...cause they thought kids got worms?? LOL...I still cannot figure that one out...but it was like a ritual. Oh the memory foam beds...I've tried them in the store,...great beds!! I sleep on a heated water-bed..yup...still have one, and I love the way it contours to the body...but maybe it does too much?? I'm not sure.

Thanks for your comment...very much appreciate it!!

    Hugs :-)

You would have a good laugh to see Chris and I together....it's a riot! :-D

  • My mom talked about Witch Hazel when I was a kid. (She never used it with me though.) Honey & lemon (in tea) was great for colds (for me at least).

  • Hi Herb...yup Witch Hazel goes way back!

Yes the honey lemon in tea works really well.

Thanks so much...your comments are greatly appreciated.

    Hugs :-)

  • Toothpaste never worked for me and the white sock didn't either. When I was a kid though I had them on the bottom of my feet. I kept walking barfoot on a gravel road and they went away.♥

  • Ouch! Barefoot on a gravel road...but, I guess that would take care of them!!

    Thanks so much Angie!

    Hugs :-)

  • Marlene Dietrich i read had her face pulled back sorta liek the way u mentioned, and then she put on a wig to cover all the stuff that was pulling her face up.

  • Picturing her I can well imagine she must have done something like that Michael!

    LOL....thanks and hugs.

  • You sure a wealth of homely remedies that work. All I can remember is that the white socks you mentioned, I think had to be cotton... but, then I could be wrong.

(I am generally on wrong once in awhile... but I tend to have frequent whiles. LOL )

  • OMG!!! You are right!!! The white socks had to be COTTON!!! Oh anyone reading this and is going to try it please make sure the socks are cotton.

LOL...roger on the frequent 'whiles' :-D

  • Oh my Mum was a big believer in Witch hazel, she seemed to use it for all manner of ailments!

She said if you bump yourself and apply it to the bump then you wouldn't get a bruise and she was right, that does work!

You look lovely Nancy, hope those hips feel better soon, try applying witch hazel!

  • LOL..Witch Hazel on the hips Trish. :-D

    Hey it might work!!

Yes, I saw on a news channel that they are bringing witch hazel back in a new bottle. It is a tried and true old remedy of many ailments.

    Thanks and hugs.

  • This is turning out to be very interesting, hearing all the different home remedies! Maybe now, we can all stay a little healthier! ;)

Sure wish I could help you with the hip thing - but I have no idea - but sure hope you find some relief for it.

  • Yes I am going to try to find that Bio Freeze that SweetPea suggested. I don't want to have to resort to pain meds.

    Thanks and hugs.

  • The bio freeze remedy that swtpea suggested may work..for relief. And riding in my boat will get rid of face wrinkles...but you don't have any.

  • Riding in the Tracker almost blows my hair and face right off!!

I don't know if we can get bio freeze over here can we?

    Big hugs

  • Now how would you know I don't have any? ;-)

  • I remember that if one person at school had worms, we all got meds. One with lice, we all got meds. One got pregnant, we all...oh, no....that's different. hee hee. There are so many home remedies that worked. but the spud in the garden I don't know about. Keep sharing these. Yes, witch hazel was good and Epson's salt can be a laxative among other things.

    Hugs and lots of luv,

    Aegan

  • I'm glad someone else remembers the worm medicine...yes, they are bringing back Witch Hazel...and YES Epsom Salts...I recall that always being in the cupboard as a child.

Hugs and luv to you too dear Aegan.

    Thanks for coming by.

  • Have you ever used "Bio-Freeze" jell ? for the pain on your hips? Rub it around the area & then its cold but as it works itself down into the bone it turns warm...It helps for most aches/pain... : )

  • I'm afraid I have not heard of it...and I'm wondering if we have it here in Canada.....but I'm going to look for it. Thanks for the tip!!! :-)

    Hugs

  • Oh I have used Active On...it goes on like stick deodorant...is it like that?

  • Checked out the Bio Freeze gel and it only available here by prescription . :-(

  • Most big liquor stores carry it ,but you have to make sure it has a lemon in it. I wouldn't be able to drink the whole thing either. But is does work!:)

  • I'll have to check it out. :-)

  • My mom used to wash are warts in the moonlight through a metal colander. Then you forget about your warts and they will disappear !

  • A pint of rye?? It will knock me out cold no?

Where does one find Rockin rye...at the liquor store?

  • How come one word is the right way in your background and one isn't? Worm powder?! That's for puppies! Good grief !! I couldn't wear my hair tied that tight...would get a headache...lol. Oh! Put a bar of Zest hand soap in between the bottom sheet and the mattress for your hip pain. love you!!

  • @bugsinrug

Yes worm powder and you had to have it too!
