The only person whose version can elicit more emotion than yours is isao tomita's electronic version of this piece. I find it fascinating how well you create the tone colors with the piano alone. Someone has a future in music performance,ha,ha!
i don't get what your saying it's a version of the Westminster chime but Claude made it as if it was under water some parts are not the chime song but it still gives the vibe as this girl described. And really all songs are open to self interpretation
impressionism suits you very well, love the parallelism lurking, then unfolding in a major sort of way, so light the candles, the river flows at twilight, bravo, encore, more debussy
I'm performing this piece soon, and I wanted to see other interpretations of it. I've seen several videos of this piece on youtube, and I like your interpretation the best. You play beautifully.

My opinion: associating Music with images, as Debussy does . . . is simply a BIG mistake.
If you want VISUAL experience: look at paintings . . . or rub your eyeballs.
If you want MUSICAL experience . . . don't distort it by adding something that's OBJECTIVELY got nothing to do with it.
(Easy to demonstrate: if you knew nothing about this Music, chances are near ZERO that you'd ever imagine "sunken cathedrals" when first hearing it).
Instead . . . just FEEL (sense) the Music.

So you have problems with the title of the piece? what ever I don´t believe that Debussy use to compose thinking on images.
