I just came back from a supermarket here in the west and saw MANGOSTEENS for sale 6.99 lb! Rambutans were 5.99 lb!(imported from Thailand lol) Thailand is cheap, but I have always worried about pesticide use. U seel tanker trucks spraying bushes that are placed in the medians of roads. Yeah the bushes LOOK GOOD, but it cant be too healthy. I am still amazed that the average life expectancy is about 65ish vs 83 here! Regardless, life is short and semi-retirement in LOS is the way to go!
@keenok100 From what I understand the higher life expectancy is actually due to the quickest response time of EMS in the US. I think it averages 5 minutes and saves a lot of lives.
Somebody just made a comment that Thailand doesn't have GMO because the EU would ban their products.
As for the pesticides. I soak all my fruits and vegetables in 6% hydrogen peroxide to try to rid the exterior of any residue and pests but I am not sure what is inside. But hey, You can't have everything
JC I have been watching your videos since late last year and having spent five years in Thailand, I will have to say that everything you say is SPOT ON!
very informative! I have been to chiang mai 4 times before..I live in denver at the moment, the last time i was there was in 2007..I finally was able to retire at age 46 so im looking forward to traveling to chiang mai this coming month...take care and thanks for the video.
@rodrigo1965 Wow! It's been a long time. You will notice a lot of changes for sure. Enjoy your trip. It is a great time to be here. The cooler weather has just started.
@lancer89032 A little long but informative. I want to try to include some of the local ambiance in upcoming videos. It's a big reason to be here and it's entertaining as well. Thanks for your support.
I have been learning Thai for about a year now and know words but not know sentences.
When you said An Ni Ra-ka Toaw-Ri Krup? I actually put 2 phrases/words together and made a sentance. I did not know it was as simple as saying "This how much?" Thank you for putting this video together. Much appreciated.
@TravInThailand Hey cool. Yea, just talk like a cave man and you got it down! As you learn, you will start putting these things together and making these kinds of cool distinctions. Good luck with your Thai.
@leojdroffaws3 We don't have a big beef consumption here. So it is more expensive. I recommend that it is purchased in more of a supermarket type store. Same with cheese.
@eitoobmiz I have only been charged a higher price from one vendor. I explained in my best Thai that doing that isn't good. Of course she lost my business and at that time I was buying for 2 restaurants.
Wow, you can eat cheap and healthy at the same time. I bet I could lose 20 to 30 pounds over there in no time, as opposed to all the junk food temptations we have here in states.

Probably my favorite video i've seen so far on your channel. I love the price and food videos and this is a great combination of the two.

@magcshroom Wow. Thanks. I was afraid it was going to be too long and boring. I tried to show how friendly the vendors were as well.
