  • im considering taking steroids when im older.they arent as bad for you as portraid i know people who have taken them

  • In soviet Russia, weights lift you.

  • Thanks

  • Is it a good idea to start off light and for every set add 10lbs as you go along?

  • I'm only using 10lb dumbbells and doing 4X40 bicep curls, would this be enough to gain muscle? (i'm doing 4X40 to make up for the lightness of the dumbbell), I also do the same amount of reps for my triceps. For my abs I do 4X25 crunches and leg lifts. Is all of this enough to gain muscle? (i'm a beginner).

  • @Apidium of what I've heard. High reps will tone down, Low reps(high weights obviously) will give u more bulk...

  • @gurkis35 theres no such a term like "toning"

    6-12 reps goes for mass

    and 1-5 goes for strength

  • Comment removed

  • @RsMayn

    12-15 Mass

    15-20 endurance

    20-30 endurance

very important to have some endurance in your workout to release some hormones for growth. and ofc be able to do more reps than others before you get tired.

  • Good video with good tips! Thanks

  • LIKE A BOSS

  • 176 people cant pick up the dumbells

  • Is it ok to do one dumbbell per arm? I ask as I dont have two. IF there a huge benefit from two or a whole bar than id be willing to get another dumbbell.

  • im starting, i knotice a big difference, i use a weight bar and only 15pounds each side so 30pounds, ill lift them 15 times with a 15 second brake then 15 times again till i do 250 or 300, depending on my mood or energy ill do any where from 10-25times, but why can i do more on the weight bar then i can dumb bells ???? some one tell me please ???

  • @EnergeticAsh with the bar, you're using 2 hands, not just 1. Thats why its easier to lift 100lbs with a bar, than with one dumbbell lol.

  • @EnergeticAsh Because your not pushing that much with one arm. Idk. It has me confused.

  • @EnergeticAsh It could possibly be your muscle co-ordination. Mind you, you need to factor in the weight of the bar that you're lifting. The standard barbell is usually 20kg, or 44lb. I can usually do better dumbell curls than barbell curls because I'm so much more used to using dumbells, whereas with barbells I'm struggling to get the damn form right. Your body keys in to what's required of it, so remember to train it the right way.

  • That guys arms are huge!

    Everyone, listen to him

  • @kalifec Or you arent doing them properly :p

  • Okay...15 reps and how many sets?

  • @rishi851 Depends on the weight and how big you are... lol

  • @rishi851 I think they usually do 3 sets of each exercise and 3 different exercises for each muscle. So that would be 3 sets of this. Then 3 sets of some other bicep exercise. And then 3 sets of some other bicep exercise. I'm guessing this differs greatly depending on who you are and what you want to achieve but I think this is the most common.

  • 138000 videos

  • This guy is awesome!

  • This is dope

  • i do 40# per arm n im skinny!! i love the fast pump!!!

  • did he say 15 or 50 reps? and i just have tiny 5 pound weights.. is that gunna do anything?

  • @kstew0BSESSED No, not really I think.. I started with 12 pound weights and now after about 7 weeks im on 24 pounds. 5 is a little very light

  • @ZwergpiratXXL Not sure if this will help but hey, I started on 22lb 1x 12,1x10 and 1x 8 after 12 weeks I was lifting with good form like the guy above 39lb in the last set.

Of course Im trying to build mass but lighter weights and higher reps increase endurance and strength.

    Keep up the good work!

  • @kstew0BSESSED Oh, and he said 15 :)

  • biceps concentration curl is one of the best excersices you can do, what my video in my profile, shows u how it done :)

  • @MrAlpenYodl As a boxer I can tell you most of your punching power comes from your back and shoulders. But, to punch correctly you use your entire body.

  • @rokman5000 lol I can tell you are not a fighter because the power comes from the legs and transfers into your punches, hence "putting your body into it".

  • @Warpath2198 I know it starts at the feet and the kinetic energy flows up through the legs through the body. But most of the power of the punch is from the latisimus dorsie and the deltoid.

  • Great video, but...

What most people watching this don't realise is that biceps form a TINY amount of the muscle you use in day-to-day life.

To get physically stronger, what you should be aiming to do is increase your 'functional strength', which is made up of your core muscles (i.e., legs, abs, glutes).

Squats and deadlifts are THE best weightlifting exercises you can do to gain functional strength, along with abdominal exercises.

But if you just want strong arms, do triceps. :)

  • @MrAlpenYodl you definitely need your back/lats. chest is so overrated

  • i do about 1 of these a day, now thats what i call a workout.

  • Im using 10kg atm

  • It's funny how people think that a massive biceps was an indicator for great strength.. like, if you want a nice punching blow you should train your triceps, shoulder and back. The biceps on it's own is a surprisingly weak muscle..

  • @ZwergpiratXXL Punching power comes from the legs and transfers to the end of the fists hence technique and "putting your body into it" is important. Just having bigger muscles does not mean you will punch any harder.

  • @Warpath2198 You actually are describing a "boxer-punch". I am more talking about punches that you do up close, like from a range of about 20-30cm where you can not really put your whole body into it.

Other than that, your description is correct.

  • that mostley workout my forarms

  • Very good, learned alot..

  • This helped a lot. Thanks man.

  • how much time rest until the next set?

  • Thanks heaps ! u have really helped me!

  • great video, checkout my channel!

  • If i keep doing this everyday how long will i have to wait?

  • Heyy I've been doing this about 2 months, 5 days a week but no change, can you tell me why?

  • @Marka1232 if you've been using the same weight that's probably why

once it gets easy and you don't feel "the burn" then it won't be that beneficial for you to lift weights

you gotta lift more then you usually do

  • @BioHazardForceCAClan cheers man, what if i do more sets/reps??

  • @Marka1232 dont do it five days a week, once you do the exercise you break muscle fibers which need at least 48 hours to repair, you wont get bigger arms if you are not giving your body time to repair and build muscle, try two days a week with heavy weight for two months and you will notice a difference

  • @SLOT456 cheers man, what if i do more sets/reps??

  • @Marka1232 Add some more weight, as heavy as you can. Don't do it 5 days a week, maybe 2 or 3 times. And eat, eat, eat!

  • @nizepart0519 cheers man, what if i do more sets/reps??

  • @Marka1232 that should help to

  • Thanks mate I had no idea how to get started until I saw this!

  • Question, Does my arm have to be completely pointing to the ground (straight arm) when down or can it be bent a little before coming up? I notice it is harder to bring up when i do that. Also when I am done with my reps my arms feel tired, it is now 2 hours later and i am not sore but i guess that just means i have to use more pounds?

  • I started off being able to do 15kg. Now I use 8kg. Not because I got weaker, but because now I know how do them properly.

  • @Obliviatora I get what you meann , because when you doa FULL curl the weight feels heavier than it is which gives you stronger arms

  • Comment removed

  • you couldnt rely on this solely to make your arms bigger.can you?

  • @LFCEOIN If you want to get bigger arms, you should definitely make sure you are working both your biceps and triceps. In fact, your biceps are only made up of two different muscle heads, while your triceps have three! So if you want to make your arms appear bigger, focus on getting bigger triceps. Just make sure that you are not working them the day after chest or shoulders. These two muscle groups tend to use a lot of triceps, so you would be putting your self at risk for overtraining. Peace!

  • This channel has more videos uploaded than all my videos plus channel views x2

  • @ikramgg the way i worded the sets is probably wrong i mean do 12reps, rest, 10reps, rest, 8reps, rest. hope this helps

  • @ikramgg ive just recently started doing weights. but i researched before i started. theres other factors in this (body size, fitness goals etcetc) but i would say do 3sets of 12-10-8 with the weight difficult but not effecting form at any point. really i would say this should be a small part of your routine though. squats, deadlifts, bench presses etc done properly will give you and i better results as beginners if done with good form. (read "starting stength" if you can)

  • 2 million people are weaklings and im one of them :D

  • @telekinovice lol yes i am tierd of being in the 9th grade and only do 15 push ups when my classmates are doing 40

  • I just started when I was 13. My muscles are slot bigger now and I'm only 15

  • @Coolshark98 im 13 now and im only just starting what weight did u start at on dumbells

  • @shufflel101

onethat is challenging but not too easy for example if you can lift a 10 pound weight no problem try a 15. dont think that aww man this weight isnt alot because starting off you build more strength by doing reps and alot of them then move up

    hope i helped

  • @shufflel101 do it with a 5kg dumbell and then push yourself 5kg higher and higher I think :P

  • @shufflel101 working out, slows growth down, if you wait a few years your body will be longuer, then work out =) , but if you really want to start, go with 3 kilos,

  • anyone know a good routine? like how mant sets of reps etc for bicep curling 10kg

  • i fucked up my right forearm with too much weight and improper form. thanks for the video.

  • wow here i was doing shoulder shit like a dumbass

fucked up my right shoulder so i guess i paid for it

  • Looks like garen

  • @TheAlex0895 I'm 14 and my dad has experience with this stuff so he helps me and he told me that sitting down is extremely important when you're young because your body is changing.

  • Hi i weight 52 kg,can i do this with 20 kg dumbells??

  • @Deadpan1000 Hey, you're pretty funny.

Let me call my friend. He's an expert on jokes.

  • at 14 plus you can start lifting weights*

  • @EdEoc5 I started lifting almost right when I turned 13

  • @MrBraumski I started at 10.

  • @imawesome734, I started when I was 9.9.

  • arnold went to the gym at age 15 if i am right. he is 6.2 now so what is the big deal ? just go to the gym . i am 19 now started at 18. i wish i started at 15 i would have been a lot bigger by now.

  • Can such excercise be recommended to 16 year old wil it affect its growth, etc???

  • @cashphattichaddi I'm 14, and I do this.

  • @TheStudioSEB ok thx.....

  • @cashphattichaddi actually no it will not affect growth but rather possibly increase growth if done properly. put it this way when you are a teenager you body has more muscle building chemicals etc then when you are say 35 now one thing that will decrease muscle mass is working out to much your body should have atleast 2 days of rest after a good workout.. always remember that muscles don't grow when working out resting and proper diet is the best thing for building muscle after working out....

  • Guys i need a peace of advice...I am 16 and i have been lifting weights in the gim since 15.I hear a lot of people say ''stop lifting weights it stops or limits your height growth'' i didnt believe all these things but when i was 15 i was 1.77 and now, after 1.5 years i am 1.78...i mean can someone expert from here explain me if weight lifting limits your growth in this age, and why?

  •  ▲

  • Im Duke Nukem from expert village...

  • yeah, but you oughta do different types of curls though. Develope muscle memory and you wont get bigger. Maybe stronger, but your size wont change

  • @bowlofarthritus A bicep curl is a bicep curl, whether you train with dumbbells, or machines. The only difference when training with dumbbells is a greater forearm exertion.

  • this goes against everything ive been told... heavier weight and low reps builds muscle low weight high reps burns fat...

  • @TEEVENSSNEVEET I heard Low weight high reps builds stamina/strength - High weight low reps builds bulk muscle but not stamina, and its just for BURST lifting, like a cyclist has more stamina than a lifter

  • are you calling me a begginner! HUH EXEPEERTVILLAGE! SUCK MY COCKASS! U WHORES!<3

  • I'm not usually a fan of expert village, but this video helped quite a bit, I had an "OK" stance for curling but didn't really read into the whole bending knees thing, just always got told to keep the back straight and shoulders high and square, thanks for this video!

  • Dude is on chemo, just saying.

  • Found mark1007's comment after 10 seconds ;) top of 10th page for me now, for you lazy fuckers ;)

  • Can i lift 3sets of 8 reps every workout for mass gain? especially for my poor arm..

  • I do 10 sets of 25. With just 15 lbs dumb bells. Just try it guys for at least a week I promise it will benefit so much.

  • Okay so breath out when you bring things up is general for most of the lifting.

  • Hey how many days a week should a person do this? I am currently losing weight and now weigh 200 was 255. I swim 40laps 5 days a week and run 3miles 6 days a week. I want to build muscle as well or should i wait till i lose ALL my stomach fat and reach my goal of 180 to muscle train THEN? Or could i start focusing on them and my abs now? I do about 40 pushups a day as well.

  • @romka4567

my advice would be that lose the weigth first and focus on it 110% losing weigth and building muscle at the same time is not a good combo, and i hope that you have a good diet and remember patience is a virtue

  • @Oozy9Millimeetah why is it not a good thing to do it at the same time??????? the fat will be used to build muscle and feed it. when body builders build mass then gain weight (fat) then use that fat to put on muscle. Do a hard weight lifting workout then some cardio after or in the morning. Also you do burn fat while weight lifting too.

  • @Baseshocks any hard cardio you do like running for 3miles burns your muscle too, you are just going to work your self out, with only little to show for it, when i started out i was 210lbs and with running and diet i went down to 160 and im 6 feet tall, and now im in muscle building phase. and if you are now 200lbs you still have much of fat to loose (i hope i dont sound rude) and with weigth lifting its gonna take you much longer to burn off that fat. these guys put it well watch?v=3YNbL7lMZqE

  • @Baseshocks

    2. but the best thing for you is to do your own research of things, im just telling what i know and how i have done it my self, and there is alternative views on cardio and muscle gaining. good luck dude

  • U only want to do 7-8 reps, so adjust the weight accordingly

  • great, now i have to find mark1007's comment...

  • an incline bicep curl u cant do any swinging and stuff ur using most of your bicep

  • it said dumbbell tricep curl at 0:10 Fail for all deaf people and people who dont speak good english its a dumbbell bicep curl

  • 138,551 videos! Holy shit!!!!

  • @LeetSkillz702 they're not all by this guy. expertvillage makes instructional videos

  • @LeetSkillz702 And over 2,200,000,000 (thats billions) views

  • @LeetSkillz702 thats alot of 240p

  • Upper body ROCKS..XD

  • how much do your dumbells weigh?

    i only have 45s

  • You dont need to curl to gain inches to your biceps theyll come out from benching, Kids 12-18 only worry about arms for some reason just to show off.

  • Hurting your shoulder isn't a benefit!!!!

  • lose some weight hit the gym and build some muscle fat shit

  • Been doing pushups as well*

  • I am skinny on my arms, is there anything else I can do such as eating to gain muscle on my arms. What can I get at the grocery store? I have been gaining weight on the chest cause I have been eating a lot more. Only lifting weights for now. Anyone help me, thanks

  • @ShaunEboi523RatedR

Google Strong lifts 5x5. That's the program that works for me.

  • Omg! Thank You Alot!! I was Doing The swinging type LOL which would make it EASIER! But Now i I know :')

  • can everybody look at my 15 year old bicep flex? comment please guys, cheers! (:

  • is it bad if i do 30 reps?

  • hey i am a guy at 17, and i was wondering if weight lifting during the teenage(the growing age), stops you in growing your height? Like, does it stop you from growing ?

  • @BreakDancerAndre it does affect your grow, dont train hardcore when your too young. i think 17 is an ok age to begin.

  • i think it's girl's one ?

  • simpel workout !! good

  • Curls for Gurls

  • 15 reps is too much

  • whats he talking about at the end, "about 15 reps" or something

  • @SteevLao 15 repetitions

  • I'm 15 yrs old 5''6 and weigh about 130. How much weight should my dumbbell weigh??

  • @487redrum 90kg.

  • @487redrum yeah you should be lifting around 90-110kg

  • @487redrum OMFG 130 KGs 0_0

  • @acetrainer95 Its pounds. 130 pounds is about 59 KG's...

  • he´s so hot !!! uhmmmmm :D

  • or u c people startin with their arms bent 90 degrees then pullin up then the same what do they think there doin with that

  • Weight curling for pussies should be the title! And your form sucks shit!

I have video proof of me doing 80s strict from dead hang. This guy sucks at both form and strength... way to abuse STEROIDS.

  • @AndyHarglesis Are you watching another video?

  • Why is it that when I do this, its more of my forearms getting tighter not so much my biceps... : /

  • @JSchaefer93 dont grip the weights as hard. maybe move 5lbs down in weight

  • Duke Nukem! :O

  • What do you think is better alternating or both at the same time? or does it matter?

  • @0:10 "probably one of the most famous exercise for guys butt.."

  • I cant seem to do this exercise without tensing my pec muscles...:(

  • I can also swing 130lb dumbbells at 13, no drugs, with relative ease!

Not 150 though because Bocian a beast!

    But I'm 13 only.

  • @AndyHarglesis No one gives a fuck. You're in 6th grade, an unwanted nerd, active steroid junkie, but still benches 10lbs. You're fat as hell too. Everyone here could whip your child ass.

  • @YoouToober agreed.

  • @YoouToober Why must you be mean to a little child. It makes you feel better about yourself.

  • This may sound stupid, but with my dumbbell set I can only get enough weight if I put everything on a single dumbbell, meaning I can only do one arm at a time. Is there anything inherently wrong with doing it like that?

  • @freegelato try using both dumbbells at the same time, what weigth are your dumbbells?

  • Weak!

I'm 13, weigh 203lbs of solid, drug free strength and I curl 170lbs on a straight bar STRICT, no swinging! :P

I finally uploaded the video as well! Check it out everyone if you wanna see REAL strength that is natural and not STEROIDS.

  • @AndyHarglesis We dont give a fuck you roid raging grub, go fuck your own ass

  • @w4lyfb I'm 1,000% natural, my friend!

  • @w4lyfb Why must you be mean to a little child. It makes you feel better about yourself.

  • @jake1992fly nice, defend the liar, hope you feel like the hero you must portray yourself to be

  • can i do 3x10 bicep curls? Anyone?

  • I have 2 curls that are 8lb which is all i have for now is it best to have low weights and do a lot of curls?

  • excellent form, seen rarely this times

  • Thanks for this information, I've been looking for a good way to improve my arm workouts. I pretty sure I've been doing my arm workouts wrong.

  • can you sit down while doing this?

  • @kikomiko1 Yes you can, it's called the "locked bicep curl", you have to put your elbow on your upper legs and then just curl the weight up!

  • I prefer to do it with a barbell but your right on not needing a ton of weight. I took muscletech gakic and Noxplode (3 scoops) drank a monster thought I was going to do 180x5. I busted a bloodvessel on my tricep and hurt my forearm

  • Very good video, i got my first dumbell set for my 17th birthday there last week and for that week ive being performing the dramatic "swinging arm motion" that this gentleman says you should not do. Thanks for the video i learned a lot.

  • can you possibly get stronger by lifting heavier weights but at the same time want to get ripped by doing a different excersize of lifting lighter but more ?

  • wow I was doing it wrong this whole time I wish I would have seen this sooner

  • People remember if you want big arms do TRICEPS, because the triceps are 2/3 of your arm!
