  • That kitten is definitely a Sycamore; it didn't even look frightened when the firecrackers went off, haha! :D

  • We did this last year in our high school play. I was cast as Donald. Everyone loved it!

  • Watching this as research, I was cast as Grandpa.

  • Ha ha ha

  • Good to see "Rochester" in this movie. I should see other films he has been in. Know him from the Jack Benny´s shows.

  • My High School's Play Production did this last year. =] I loved being apart of it working as a lights manager. People loved the play and we even had an encore performance. :D

  • I GOT MR. DE PINNA!!! So excited, shows in 2 months!

  • i love how he doesn't let go of her hands :):):)

  • I have the identicle 'Home Sweet Home' picture...I wonder what it's worth?

  • I got the part of Ed in my highschool's play.

  • I was Mrs.Kirby in my High school show of this :) *u* xD

  • woot go Mr. De Pinna

  • @tonyjoker55 LOL I just got that same part today

  • At 00:30 great scene shift!!

  • my high school is putting on this show. Im trying out on the 12th and 13th. thumbs up for good luck.

  • @TroxMacgee how did you do on your try outs??

  • @susankohistany I got the part of Donald

  • @TroxMacgee

My high schools doing this play too, I'm going out for the part of Essie! Best of luck to you x

  • Anne Miller on pointe! Shes' a baby but it's her. Good cast all round.

  • Ann Miller the girl that plays "Essie Carmichael" was only 15 years old in this film, and Dub Taylor the guy playing her husband was 31. What a freaking child molester, lol..

  • @jtridexter I was wondering why the husband looked so old. He looks older than 31.

  • @musicaltheatergeek79 Can't say why he looks so old but with all due respect, the character of Essie is supposed to be about 29, and Anne Miller sure don't LOOK 15, which I reckon is how she got the work in the first place. Of course we have to remember around this time, birth certificates were not a certainty, Gracie Allen never even knew how old she was, I think they found her record was off by 5 years.

  • What is is that she calls the candy? I can't hear it well enough.

  • @newbkd28 love dream

  • I wonder if kids today would know that the lily of the fields is a biblical reference I wonder

  • that's weird, right after he lights the firecrackers, i smelled, for a moment, spent powder.

  • This is very different from the play. And I will say that I miss the quantness of how the play only takes place in the house. But this is still excelent on it's own. And props to Capra and the writer because while it is very different in structure it still keeps the lesson of the story intact. Also Vanderhoff is one of my favorite play characters. He just makes sense in such a crzy world.

  • @royalport2 Every family ought to have a Martin Vanderhoff, we could use the sanity.

  • Mr Vanderhof is my idol!

  • lol the cat!

  • A film with heart, without being to schmaltzy.

  • What a wonderful, eccentric family! :)

  • The same cast as "Mr. Smith goes to Washington".

  • @denisespurlock All of these Capra movies are wonderful.

  • Ernest T. Bass

  • I love how Ann Miller plays her role so totally comedic--she is such a showoff, yet she doesn't really try to use even one-tenth of her real talent. it's also great how Mischa Auer says "confidentially, she STEENKS!" when he comments on her dancing.

  • That kitten is adorable! Thank you for posting this, we are reading it in thetare class and it's really good!

  • @scascencio kitten paperweight XD
