I'm a Morrissey fan and love his solo stuff. But The Smiths WERE Marr, Morrissey, Rourke & Joyce. Without these men it wouldn't be the same. So many Moztards slag off anything to defend their hero. As far as I see it, they all deserved equal pay. If they had a problem with that go off on your own if you want majority of the pay. A band to me, is a band, not a vehicle for one person or 2. The Smiths WERE A BAND and that's what made them great!

I feel honored to be a fan of The Smiths...and a little bit sad as well. I don't think this great band will ever re-form and that is tragic. Criminal, really! I think they had the potential to be as big a group as U2 are. Johnny might be up to some sort of reunion (call it the "Morrissey-Marr project) but it just wouldn't be the same. Wow, I am really bummed out now. However, on the bright side, we will always have the albums and the b-sides. And...it never hurts to dream, right....?

Hello Boydchenko. I don't think you know anything about the music industry. Songwriting royalties and performance royalties are seperate. Songwriting royalties are divided between the songwriters(Morrissey, Marr), performance royalties(playing on records and at concerts etc.) are divided equally between band members. There are 4 Smiths: therefore 25% performance royalties each. Joyce and Roarke fucked up when they didn't sign the Rough Trade contract at the beginning.

Why do these documentaries always over-egg the court cases after the split. I want to hear more of the songs because that's what the band were all about. I do think that Bruce and Rick deserve to be paid properly though and it's clear that a great band were disabled by bad management (or lack of) and it's a shame that it ended when it did. But what a ride though..:)

Does anyone else find it terribly sad whenever you see and hear Andy Rourke speak? He seems like such a tragic figure...this definitely explains why he moved to L.A. Very interesting documentary; it would have been better if there Moz was a part of it though...Let's hope for a reunion when they are inducted into the Hall of Fame...
