Regarding gambling I once took a gamble on a fart which I thought would be just a normal 7 second dry skidfree fart . So I made myself comfortable in the chair concentrated on what was about to happen and let rip with a monster . Sadly I suffered a major bowel fail I farted followed through and shit my pants resulting with a steaming pile of crap running down my legs and around the private parts , I also left a lot of large skidmarks on the cream coloured chair and matching carpet aswell .

I finally admitted to myself and my family I have a gambling problem. I am seeking counseling. I understand the problem. However, I do not feel the government should be able to tell you not to gamble. It is up to individuals to make their own choices and demonstrate personal responsibility. I was not able to do that and am facing significant consequences, and I only point the blame at myself.

I am 100% against the government doing something to limit gambling. The government has no right telling me what I can and can't do with the money I've earned. As an adult it's my responsibility to manage my own income. You have nobody to blame but yourself for your losing all that money. It's your duty to make sure you have enough money for you home, food, clothes etc. not the government's.

I watched this vid about a year ago. I remember it being a little longer. There were relevent clips from films involving problem gambling through out this video. I suppose it's because of the rights.

I completely agree with this guy though. It should be mandatory for people to have gambling licences in order to gamble. whole heartedly agree.

Efforts made to limit what people can bet have been repealed. When Iowa had a $200 per trip limit (you had to hand over a ticket for $10 or $20 to buy chips or change), they lost business to Illinois, which didn't have a betting limit. Missouri repealed their $500 every two hours loss limit in 2008.

Go to any casino. Stand a discreet distance from the ATMs. I'd lay 1:2 (bet $2 to win $1) that someone will come up to the ATM within an hour & not be able to get cash, even trying other cards.

Casino credit isn't real credit. It's a check-cashing service. Depending on the size of the marker and the state where it was written, you have between seven and thirty days to redeem it. You aren't charged interest, but the counter check that you signed will be sent to your bank at the end of the holding period.

Some people ONLY bank, and have $10K in chips. Many casinos allow pai gow and pai gow poker to be player banked (the casino collects 5% of the bets). The problem is that most players don't have the ability to bank a multiplayer game.

Churning reduces the net taxation per dollar bet, not increases it. Suppose that you bet $10 and lose, immediately leaving the casino. Divide that $10 into 2 $5 bets, one of which you win, the other that you lose. For simplicity, presume even-money payoffs. You bet your remaining $5 and lose. The $10 that the casino evenually won will be taxed at 55%, but in terms of the amount bet, the tax is 27.2% (5.5/15).

Table games are taxed at "only" 15%. Slots are taxed at 55% gross revenue.

The casino's should be forced to encourage other games like poker where people vs each other and pay a rake, rather than play the casino, that way there is a much more even playing feild and a better argument for running an 'entertainment' venue. Mandatory facilities for every pokie machine are the answer i believe

@imluvinyourmum The people who bank blackjack in California "professionally" are required to have a minimum of $10K in chips available at the table, and probably need to have more in reserve. With a $500 maximum bet, 7-8 players, one needs at least $10K to cover the worst case: everyone betting max, splitting, and the banker busting or at least losing to every hand.

Speed is an important factor in addictiveness of gambling. Using slots revenue to prop up horseracing is a fraud, because no one who is used to gambling on slots has the patience to bet the ponies.

He says that Pennsylvania taxes 55% of every dollar gambled. This is incorrect.  The tax rate is 55%, but it is levied on the amount won by the casinos.

If you sign up for self-exclusion from the PA casinos, you are required to make TWO visits to the gaming board office at least a week apart to remove yourself from self-exclusion after your time is up. You can sign up to be barred from the casinos AT the casino.
