@VenommsHD There are a lot of different factors that will cause you to spin or turn, i.e. not bending your knees enough, not keeping your skates shoulder width apart, weight in the wrong places and also leaning towards to the direction your turning. Join our forum page at hockeytutorial. com give us more detail and we'll be able to help you overcome this.
@iGotHex I was too...just do it at slow speed for a while focusing on your front stopping leg until you get some confidence that it will slide. You can add the back skate after that. Knee & elbow pads are good too so you can fall without fear. I've gotten it down pretty well to one side...still struggling a little using my left foot as my stopping leg but I'll get there. I'm hoping we get a nice cold winter so I can practice a lot!
Dude I didn't make the vid but I can help, I have been playing hockey for 3 months and skated a total of about 4 months my whole life and I just learned the hockey stop. You said you can't get a lot of snow, you get the snow by 2 ways one way is tilt your skates more, and the other is go faster. And make sure you bend your knees, look up, and turn your whole body not just your feet.
I'm having a problem with my stopping. I can stop - but sometimes I find myself skates stuttering sometimes. So it makes my stop unbalanced, like I'm going to fall. I'm skating out at East Kilbride - every thursday and friday. It's taken me two months - perhaps three, to get my stopping alright. But I still can't seem to get the ice spraying up like the hockey players. Any advice? Great vids, man,
Hey man! Thanks for the help! I think I will have more confidence trying this out now. I tend to T-stop but Im looking down, so now I see the problem. I will try it out and let you know! Is it possible to teach how to work on the inverted snowplow? Trying to slide with my inside edge facing forward on either leg just seems impossible to me. I either dig in the ice or steer to a direction. Cheers man! Awesome work!
Thankyou very much mayte ,i knew how to hockey stop and it wasnt sprying but after this video i can almost do it upto 60 cm and still learning thankyou very much
love ur tutorials. theyre great. makes me wana go try it asap but its hard to find a rink biggg and empty like that bak in ny -.- i'd jus end up hittn random ppl -.-

Hockey stop:
• Head and shoulders parallel to the ice
• Bend knees to make your weight go down below the waist
• Slide at an angle (about 30 - 45 degrees)
• Feet should be shoulder distance apart
• Feet should have same amount of weight
anything missing? gonna try this when i go on saturday great help!!! fav

I honestly have no idea why I watched this video. I'm not ripping on it or anything. It's a good video for beginners.
I'm just confused because I watched the video when I can already stop and can spray 3/4 up the glass. xD
